Pels take (and beat) Cavs in OT. Play Miami the next day on a back to back. You're welcome.

I think LeBron is trying to send messages to his teammates that he learned what it took to win in Miami and you guys aren't getting it. I remember he also gave that interview where he brought up how the great thing about Miami was even if you got mad at each other, it went away quickly and nobody held onto anything, everything was with the goal of winning. He implied that's not happening in Cleveland.

Yeah I see the Heat are favored by 2 points most likely due to the scheduling and that draining overtime loss. Crossing fingers.

He even gave comments to Lee Jenkins this past week calling Pat Riley "The Great Pat Riley" and quoted some of Riley's sayings.

But I don't think he took what was most important from Miami. Forget culture, Practice habits, Command structure, etc....

He left the style of play that was gonna threaten Michael Jordan for GOAT status in Miami.

It's all hero ball, terrible shots, and one screen drives. In Miami, his game was poetry as you watched him be an efficiency monster (created by Spoelstra), as he systematically hunted better and better shots. In Cleveland..it's an unstructured mess.

SO either...it's him....or David Blatt is a terrible Coach, and Spo deserves even more credit for drilling it into Bron on how to play.

I don't think it is Blatt (though Spoelstra likely deserves more credit than he gets). They're not playing like they were earlier in the year where they moved the ball continuously and routinely passed up good shots for better ones.

Lebron almost won the game yesterday, but he had a large hand in it even coming to that point in the 4th quarter. He is also playing lazy too much, either not getting back after a miss or not even trying hard on defense. Maybe he is sending a message, but I don't see how it is a good one.

I saw the game last night. LeBron was a force. Nobody else came along for the win. it was almost sad that Delly was the only guy that contributed anything down the stretch.

Delly brings all he has every night. No one else on the team can say that.

And my issues with Lebron extend beyond last night's game. Of course even when I have issues with him, he is still usually a net positive to the team.

Lebron is a FA after this year right? Pat should drop a couple 2012-2013 rings on the table.

Do yall think dragic was really undercutting durant on that play? I love KD but i think he was being a little ***** about that.

Might want start keeping tabs on Greg Whittington down in the DLeague. He's starting to really come on after not playing competitive basketball for 2 years (ACL, academic issues at Georgetown). Long 6'8, good rebounder, decent defender even though he's not super quick, regular double-doubles, and shooting 42pct from 3.

So many home games over this stretch though. Every time I look, it seems like we're playing yet another home game. That will end and when it does I wonder if they can possibly stay atop the East.

If the defense stays tight like it has been and Spo is able to manage minutes as excellently as he has, it's possible. Loving the minutes that we've been getting out of Winslow, Green, and Johnson to help give Wade some rest as well as CB.

But it's nice for now and this Heat team is showing quite a bit of potential. We know about Hassan Whiteside, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

But we're finding out what guys like Justise Winslow, Josh McRoberts and Tyler Johnson can give the team off the bench. Those aren't things we could have known before because McBob's season last year was a virtual blank and Tyler Johnson was still a developing player not far removed from time in the D-League.

We're still unsure what Goran Dragic can be expected to give though. I'm sure we would want to look at the past few games and project based on that, but I don't know how safe that is. There could be structural issues with his absorption into the Heat. It could be something that kind of goes up and down rather than something that just steadily goes up.

Another source of discomfort with me is the reliance on Gerald Green for offense. He reminds me of Michael Beasley. He's obviously a better player than Beasley but his offense is either going to be incredible one night or just completely absent (while he gets touch after touch after touch) another night, and on those nights the team seems likely to lose.

That was what I was going to cite as the key. I see our defense as pretty consistent. It's going to be solid +90% of the time. The variable is our shooting. Green is the most up and down, but even Wade and Bosh have some nights where they shoot a horrible percentage. And we don't have many others who seem capable of giving us a big offensive night. Maybe Dragon? He was one of my favorite PGs before we signed him so I'm a fan, but he's been inconsistent. How much of that early poor play was the whole kid/wife thing? Has he settled in now and what we've seen that last few games is what we'll get going forward? Or is that just more inconsistency?

If Dragic starts playing up to his standard then between he and McBob and Tyler Johnson coming off the bench, I think the Heat will be insulated from Green's offensive volatility. Even to some extent Bosh's and Wade's, because I think even when their shots aren't falling they are facilitating enough that you can reasonably expect for instance that Hassan is offering a lot more on offense that night.

Goran's problem was that he wasn't scoring nor was he really facilitating all that well. That also happens to be Gerald Green's problem. It's not that the ball stops in their hands like with Whiteside (which I continue to not have a problem with, by the way). They're passing (Goran more than Green obviously)...but that doesn't mean they're facilitating quality offense. The reason the change in Goran over the last few games has been so big is that in addition to him scoring he's also facilitating far better, and his chemistry with both Whiteside and Wade has increased tremendously (at least, for now). When that wasn't the case he was a big drain on the team. Green still is, on nights when his scoring is off.

Just as a counter example to Green, Justise Winslow doesn't score very much but when he gets the ball he really facilitates the offense IMO. I love watching him play because there are so many little things he does that make you kind of say "wow". Stuff like him dishing off the ball decisively a half-second after he just secured the pass from someone else. That's seeing the floor and operating with a plan and it's decisive moves like that that can really facilitate a top quality offense. He also seems to know when to drive and when not to drive. High quality stuff. And McBob was the same, with the only recent change being he's finally given into the clamor for him to decisively shoot more and those shots are falling (for now).

Well put. McBob and Goran have really come alive offensively lately and have found confidence they lacked. McBob stepping in gives us a lite version of CB and really ensures that the ball an still move through positions 1-4. Green also has been playing with a lot of energy on the defensive end, surprisingly well too for what we expected from him. Honestly I think Johnson continues to be such an underrated player. He really has been able to provide energy on both sides of the floor and doesn't hesitate to take a big shot. Imagine what would happen if we could get contributions from Amare and Birdman....

The reason I'm not so sure about Amar'e and Birdman is because they haven't been playing at all so it's not like we've had a guy on the floor getting minutes that is sucking and dragging the players around him into a suck vortex.

I guess the closest we saw to that was Udonis against the Cavs...but those were blowout minutes.

What seems to be working is flipping between having Whiteside on the floor and therefore having a traditional big, or not having him on the floor and going small. That just doesn't leave a whole lot of room for guys like Amar'e and Bird.

If Amare ever gets healthy, he's one of those guys who could provide offense off the bench. He's a guy that given the right match-up could still provide a ton of points.

Well, with Wall having hurt his knee last night and just about every big man hurt for Washington, I expect Whiteside to have a big game. Hopefully we can take care of business early and rest our players.

The problem is we don't run plays for him. Could go either way. If they're worried about the matchup they may just have whoever plays stay plastered to him and instead of helping Whiteside have a big day he would be the decoy while Dragic, Wade, Green and Bosh run a train on their restricted area.

    It's a thing.

It's simple really. 80% of the producers at ESPN are North Easterners. (Knicks, Celtics, Jets, Yankees, Patriots..etc....fans.) Simple bias, that translates into their work.

BTW..I am not talking out of my ***. I speak with ESPN producers and it's like calling the roll at a Jets/Pats convention.

BTW..I am not arguing against it. ESPN is in Bristol, Connecticut. It is what it is. Who are they gonna hire? Gonna get on a plane to hire somebody from down here?

The LA studio is packed with Laker/Raider, etc..fans.

The Lebby Show down here is all Heat and Fins fans with one Browns fan, and one Warriors/Patriots fan sprinkled in.
