According to the Miami media, nobody on the sideline is allowed to show emotion, apparently.

CBS reported during the game that Tannehill got into it with Stills early in the game too. They said he slammed his helmet down, then got in Stills' face after a miscommunication.

I didn't hear them mention this one during the game. Not sure how I missed it.

As for Landry... they should be pissed. I think Campbell is right, establish the running game, stick with it, but... I think they need to be more balanced. Not that 26 runs (1 a QB option) and 20 passes is too unbalanced, it's not enough plays TBH. I think what frustrates Landry... he lost alot of looks since alot of his receptions were basically designed to replace our non-existent run game with Lazor with all those short screens and stuff that Lazor always basically viewd as runs. Thing is, with Landry, he's got the ability to break those for much more than a 3 or 4 yard gain. So for Landry, he goes from an active WR short, and medium range, to nothing because Lamar Miller is now getting those touches as carries, that Landry used to get as passes, designed to replace ineffective runs.

I also think it's important to look at Sundays game... and remember... we just fired our OC, and replaced him with a guy who's not qualified to be a QB coach, who's now the OC. Kind of a bad situation there.

pouncey took a shot at the production of the passing game as well, it was in one of the articles from the herald..campbell also apoligizing for the passing game in the locker room

ryan will need to play a good game on monday, tensions are a bit high..

he's the qb, if the offense is underperforming, he's gonna take the heat..

He says that he need to find ways to convert on third down...well..there is a way..He needs t figure it out quick..

I think what Campbell is thinking, is, he just laid a blueprint as to an identity, now they can build off that to implement more passing strategy...you have to establish the run first, and thats what we did..now that opponents know that were committed to running they will be that much more easily misdirected and fooled by certain pass play concepts..

This passing game is due for a breakout performance, hopefully Monday they show us something to give us hope.

Remember the scene in TDKR?? When Bane is talking to Bruce about how without hope there can be no true dispair....how he will feed Gotham hope to poison their souls......that will be us the first time we actually have a good offensive game...some will be clamoring and clinging on to that game (whenever it is) as "hope" we have a good QB and a bright future.

    It will be bitter sweet.

i think campbell definitely laid down a blueprint but the system itself needs a complete and utter overhaul. to me the offense is built for a strong running game and a passing game that stretches the field. i envision landry in the slot just eating up first downs, parker/cameron just causing havoc downfield.

    Possible.

I'm thinking, and hoping that alot of what we saw was more related to the change away from Lazor than anything else. Alot of the usual stuff we saw from the passing game was gone, replaced by more runs. Alot of the ugly stayed the same though, like that pic floating around of the slant to Parker, with two other WR's a couple yards away. Spacing and route combo's were still atrocious alot on Sunday.

Lol this team fights more with eachother than they do with the opponent on game day. A good head coach would have them turn that energy positive, and dial up more plays for them to get on the same page... But I'm not an NFL coach what do I know

I wouldnt call it fighting. They're not winning. They're frustrated. Guys aren't executing as expected, and they're holding each other accountable. at least by the sounds of things with the Tannehill/Stills incident. There's nothing wrong with that. Landry, who knows what he was going on about. For all we know he could have just been yelling and screaming to get guys fired up to play better. We don't really know what happened. I don't see anything wrong with guys being frustrated and getting after each other like that. Now, if they're throwing punches and pushing and shoving each other, obviously that's an issue.

    Well away from here
I think what you saw is an OC who is in over his head. He was unable to adjust to what the opposing DC did, which did play a part in us having a putrid second half performance yesterday.

Agreed, it definitely difficult to properly evaluate the current roster/plays with the current coaching staff. Going to be a nightmare trying to decide which players are worth extending, cutting, waving goodbye, and giving another year.

While definitely true, that will be the newest attempted scapegoat for Tannehill not playing to the best of his so-called "potential".

We ran the ball 26 times. Our passing game struggled. That TD connection was perfect by all 11 men on the field. The blocking, the throw, the catch, perfect. Late in the game rt17 hits parker on a huge third down to put the game away.

The rest of the game was pathetic, but those two plays were enough.

Zac taylor wins game one. Hopefully we see better next week.

Yeah, the in-game adjustments on offense have been less-than-stellar all year. Conversely, give it up for Lou Anarumo. I am pleased given some of the pieces he is working with. I think he has a future as a DC in this league.

With all of the three-and-outs his D has to work with, I think this D is still playing well. Getting a little tired of Grimes, though. Was obvious he gave up on that TD play. Had the angle, and it looked like he expected help from the front end (which wasn't there), then seemed to fake a hammy or an ankle as the back ran by. I'm done with Grimes. His coverage was better than it has been, though.

Honestly did not expect much from Taylor given it was his first game. Obviously simple. Good on attacking after that INT, which is very different than what Lazor would have done. The line is so bad. Who in the hell put these guys together?? Haha

Let's see if Miami (Taylor) can catch the Giants off-guard next Monday. I'd rather he not get too cute. Stick with Miller. Play-action. Don't get in too many 3rd and longs. That's what kills Miami. Why they are so damned bad on third down is beyond me.

Dudes done IMO. Too much money for so many big plays. Unless he restructures to a reasonable deal, of which I don't think he'll do because his wife has publicly made damning comments about Ross and this team, he'll be cut. As far as I kno grimes was one of the few who supported philbin as a coach, firing him alongside bringing in a new guy and asking him to restructure will cause grimes to walk. I see no reason why he'd stay here at his age for anything less than his current contract.

The short passes are designed to get Miller and Landry out in space where one on one I will take our chances all day long.

when you cant run block it also hides this weakness. All it is - is a hybrid version of the West coast. Unfortunately, most defenses have adapted to this type of play and are better at defended it then in years past.

This approach highlights Our need for skilled players which we don't have. By design it only works when the threat of the run inside is there. The design is to keep defenders on there toes, (do they stay inside or cheat outside) Our version isn't as effective as teams that do it such as Greenbay, Seattle, New England and others because they have the other parts that compliment the scheme.

WE NEED AN OFFENSIVE LINE - so much will change when we get one

I said when we brought in all these guys (OL) that based on pay scale alone (almost half got league minimum) we were going to be in trouble. There is a reason they are compensated so low and its because their play in inferior and noone else is willing to pay them more

The Suh purchase was a smoke screen to hide our inadequacies. Got most fans to overlook the obvious. We could have and would have been fine with who we had and still have millions in cap to throw at the line and other spots we desperately need. I don't see SUH making the difference some thought he would. Not because he has done anything wrong he is who he is - a solid Tackle

Tannehill was pissed because Stills ran a go (Wanting a TD) and Tannehill wanted him to do a curl for a 20 yard gain. This is the play for it looked like Tannehill overthrew Landry by 15 yards, but Landry was not even the target.

I'm not too sure about that 25, because he will be 33 next year, and at his size if he loses half a step his game diminishes a lot, because his game is all speed and agility.

Well, one thing that would help that 3rd down conversion rate - stop throwing 5 yard passes when you need 10 for a 1st.

I think it would help our 3rd down conversion rate even more if we stopped getting into so many 3rd and 10+ situations. We also need to complete more passes on 3rd and 4-9 than we currently do, regardless of if we throw it short of the line to gain.

Grimes is being asked to follow the likes of Watkins, Dez, Marshall, all over the field when his "game" is to play LCB from an off position , primarily zone w a mix of man.

I get why the coach is doing it but if you're Grimes you have reason to be pissed. He's taking more responsibility and heat bc the other CBs can't do their jobs.

We will need grimes back next season regardless of his average play this year.. Got to take of that secondary to lessen the burden on him.
