You also have 2 successful former NFL QB's in that article saying positive things about Tannehill when most of our sorry a** fan base just bashes him relentlessly. But like I say about the people who criticize Suh, NFL players opinions > yours.

Really, you don't think a statement like, “He’s a really solid NFL quarterback,” which Phil Simms said would be met with great scrutiny on a site like this? Lol, yea sure, agree to disagree.

Don't agree. He is probably the most efficient QB at running the ball in NFL history.

Let's see what all that efficient running does against the elite teams in the playoffs this year without Jimmy Graham. They lost to the Panthers, Packers, Bengals, and Cardinals (all excellent teams) with Jimmy G, so I imagine it's not gonna get easier without him. People thought I was crazy when I said Matty Average is just an average NFL QB after his 5-0 start, don't look so crazy now.

Phil Simms has said Ryan Tannehill is a franchise QB and he has nothing invested in the argument, that's just his unbiased opinion. Most of our fans seem to think he sucks, tis' why I hate most Dolfans LOL.

Yep, he's one of the main guys I was referring to lol.

It's okay, Adam. I already knew you're a homer. You've got a never say never mentality.

Well that's it then. Phil Simms said it - so it must be so.

Tanny doesn't suck. He's simply mediocre. He goes as the team goes.

Wasn't talking about anyone specifically, but it's been happening throughout this season long debate.

It is what it is at this point. Nothing sparks more vitriol than quarterback discussions.

Personally, I'd rather spend much more time discussing coaching prospects, because this season has taught me just how important good coaching is. But all anyone wants to talk about is the quarterback. Whatevs.

I'd love to talk about potential coaching staffs. Not just the HC but the OC, DC, QB coach, everything. I'd make a thread if I could.

The quote didn't say you should judge QBs on wins, just that that's what happens.

    Unless I'm completely wrong.

Nobody in the NFL is better getting behind a defense than Ted Ginn.....and really its not even close all things considered. But that dude's hands are as bad as Ive ever seen. If he can't catch it into his body? He likely isn't catching it.

Last year had you compared him to Dalton you might as well have been comparing him to Geno Smith. Now being compared with Dalton is high praise?

Phil Simms is the type who only say positive things about teams/players sorta like Jon Gruden. You never hear them criticize any players.

The way he is playing this year?? Ryan's name has no buisness in conversations with most of the Qbs in the league. He is playing at a 20ish level.

Thats why its so easy to pounce on posters who insist on talking about him and Russel Wilson as if their abilities are even on the same planet.

If people want to continue to believe Ryan is a franchise Qb being held back by such and such then so be it....some people value hope more than others and thats fine. But when attempts are made to belittle superior Qbs to make themselves feel better about a Qb who has shnit the bed in 2015??? Then you deserve the beating youve been given.

I was very much pro-Henne and entirely against the 15+ touch passes he was asked to throw each week. But make no mistake, Henne could move the chains a heck of a lot better than we do now, and then we'd pound the football once in field goal range to earn that fist-pump. It was the exact opposite of how we play today though; Henne would come out on fire, score a quick 14 and then we'd sit on our defense to win the last two quarters. And how'd most of those games end? They'd try to turn him loose for the last 40 seconds of the game, he'd throw a deep pick and we'd earn the "L". That's what happens when you try to make a strong-armed QB fit into a Pennington dink and dunk offense though.

I know you guys weren't referring to me with the "closet talk", but then again I own what I say regardless.

So there wasn't actually a lot of pro-henne that are pro-Tannehill posters arguing back then and now Henne is better than Tannehill.

The only time I posted in them was to point out that someone was making incorrect assumptions.

I liked Henne (not super crazy about him) . Really felt the hammering in his head about not making turnovers hurt him. He played decent in Jacksonville when he got a shot. I think the excuses people make for tannehill really existed for him.

at the time I thought getting Long and Henne was a great move by parcells..especially early when long was the best left tackle in the game..

I hated Henne but I'm no guru. I hated Henne because I wanted Beck to be our starter.

Also because if we were going to draft a QB, it needed to be Matt Ryan.

really? I cannot imagine the coach going to brady, manning, brees and making them stress over turnovers. I cant imagine any coach telling Marino to not throw interceptions, Marino woulda popped their heads off.

It is called exaggeration, it would obviously take someone with reading comprehension to get it, thus hilarious when you mention a need for the ability. Perhaps you should brush up on something you are obviously lacking in.

Of course they did. You lose the turnover battle, you lose the game vast majority of the time. That doesn't mean the other QB's didn't have the balls to take their shots. That's to wholly separate issues ...... Tannehill doesn't have that gene.

Chad Pennington was just on Sirius NFL radio... They asked him about Ryan. Chad said it's too hard to evaluate him this year. Made the biggest jump from year 2 to 3 out of any QB in his class. Said with the OL and the coaching turnovers, you can't evaluate.

Also said he worked with him in the offseason. On different types of throws, Red zone stuff, mental stuff. Said Ryan has the intelligence, and desire

    Just passing it along...

No matter what anyone says Tannehill is coming back next year. But if he continues to regress we simply must move on.I'm just afraid if he does poorly the front office will blame the new coaching staff for not having spent enough time with him. So you had Tannehills coach coming out of college as your OC and two years he gets fired.Bring in Lazor 2 years and he's fired..Maybe it's not the coaches?
