Look at the huge play Landry had that made us get the TD. Had he given up, we settle for the FG. I have nothing negative to say about him, and that quote was taken WAY out of context

Landry couldn't hold Beckhams jock. Hell Landry couldn't hold Hartline's jock.

Huge overreaction. Landry's one of the best players we have.. WAY better than Hartline (just think of the difference in how they fight for extra yards). But yeah, Beckham > Landry, but most knew that.

    Landry's seen double-digit targets in 8 games now. We're 2-6.

In 2014 he saw double-digit targets 4 times. We went 1-3.

I understand that when you fall behind you throw more, sure. But people talking about getting him more volume due to his catch percentage are missing the point of how little his catches impact the game. Some posters here wanted to plan to throw it to him 10+ times tonight. But that just isn't a recipe for success.

This offense needs to get less Landry-heavy, been saying it for a while now. A traditionally low YPA qb leaning on a low YPC slot guy...not a good situation. I'm a big supporter of bringing Mathews back, and potentially Cameron too.

Yes Landry is the best wr on team. Problem is though if he's the best wr on a team. The team is bad

I personally love Landry, but he would also be the first player I trade this off-season since he could bring great value. That's the third time this year he's had a drive-killing penalty late in the game off of not being able to control his emotions, and we were down by 7 or less all three times. He's also been talked to by the coaching staff about playing dumb pranks around the locker room and pissing other players off. While his talent is undeniable and I'd hate to see him go, he was as much of a factor as anyone in our loss tonight. The three dropped passes combined with the dumb penalty killed three drives we just couldn't afford to give away.

And again, he's one of my favorite Dolphins by a long shot...but you can't build a unit around someone that immature.

No, WE can't because WE never hire the right coach.aside from the difference in talent level, odell Beckham and landry are the same person. Odell is just as immature and hot headed, I'm sure he's just as stupid in the locker room, but Coughlin actually knows how to coach a football team and keep his players in line.

I gave a hypothetical scenario wherein the Dolphins might not re-sign Landry in 2018 should Parker, Matthews and Stills become big weapons.

I got murdered by his supporters here for even suggesting he might be expendable at some point, lol.

You think you're going to get away with that, Key, haha?! ;)

In all seriousness though, this seems to be the Vontae situation all over again--solid player who's a bit immature. I don't know what to say about the penalties. That one last night was just inconceivable. Tannehill and the offense are primed for a last-second comeback and you just spit on it. What a jerk move. At least the OV penalty earlier was kind a bad call. Even the Jordan Philips Penalty wasn't nearly as egregious as Gruden first made it sound. It was a late shove--nothing offensive. The Landry penalty that took the team off the field though. That was a real penalty. It was a very good call by the ref. Landry was just incredibly stupid to be fighting with a low-level DB on the other side after the play was over.

I'll give Landry the benefit of the doubt only because trading Vontae seemed like a mistake. Miami needs to try and work with Landry. My biggest bone of contention is that he's not the kind of WR the offense needs to be featuring. Look at the big plays last week and this week to Parker and Stills. Look at the big plays to Matthews this year. Landry is a valuable piece but he's not the superstar he was hyped up to be in this game. He's definitely not OBJ.

Well, look at it this way....if we had keyed Miller last night in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters like we keyed Landry, we probably would have won by 20. So I completely agree; even though he's ultra-talented in many regards, he should not be the continual focus.

Are you freakin' serious? Brian "I tripped on a footprint" Hartline? Look I really liked Hartline, but there was never any YAC with that guy and that was the same problem he had in college. He always finds a way to fall down after the catch. He has pretty good hands and decent speed. Contrast that to Landry who fights for EVERY SINGLE yard and then some, Has Exceptional hands and good speed. You can line him up anywhere you want on the field and he will make plays for you.

Frankly, that is one of the more moronic things I have ever read here.

Yeah.. just don't forget WHY he would bring great value in a trade: because he's valuable! This would be like the Lions trading Suh because they were scared he might get suspended. No.. the fix here (and not just for Landry) is to bring in a good coach.

WRs are divas. Not a good reason to trade him.

I have no problem with WRs being divas as long as it doesn't negatively affect the team.

I love Landry's game. I think his inability to manage his emotions on the field and refrain from crossing the line is becoming a big concern. This is the 3rd personal foul and the context of the game in which it occurred last night was as Gruden stated one of the stupidest things he's seen.

Having Landry see a sports psychologist would be a good idea imo.

I would agree before seeing how the Marshall experience played out. Miami chose to just let it be and it progressively got worse. Had they addressed it sooner, it could have been different. And last night was during a game in which Landry was the "featured" player and the game was on the line. To me, that is a really bad sign and reason to address this sooner rather than later in a positive way.

    I like what you're saying.

I've been concerned about Landry's attitude for awhile and I think it's a bigger deal than people have admitted. Folks seem to want to brush it aside but we're not talking about someone as dominant as Dez Bryant here. We're talking about a guy who defeats coverage, not a guy who dictates coverages. Landry is good, he's just not good enough to get away with having such a weirdly, obnoxious attitude on the field. I have a feeling the refs could've thrown twice as many penalties on him this year if they wanted to.

I don't mind his feisty play and his emotion on the field. As someone said to me today, he stands out because of it. However, he's being an idiot at times and you can't win when someone is being a selfish like that. The Patriots bench productive players all the time for that type of non-sense. They've even cut guys because of it.

I'd like to see him learn to handle himself as a Pro. He really still looks like an immature college kid sometimes.

Like I said, if Landry is your guy, your corps is not really that good.

I wasn't impressed with Parker last night either. He's a guy who really didn't get a lot is separation in college. And last night was terrible

I think they said he was "targeted" over 18 times last night, he is not that kind of receiver.

Yeah, bad game by Parker, but he's a rook. We knew he needed to learn better route running so I'm not worried unless we see the same thing next year. He's flashed enough this year that I'm pretty sure he won't be a bust. But yeah.. he's gotta help his QB out with more intelligent route running, not just vertical separation ability.

Well, you could come up with the theory that Landry wanted the targets, and made that known this week since he was playing his bro OBJ... Our "players coach" apparently obliged. The inmates are running the asylum. Suh runs the defense apparently. Maybe Lamar Miller should do some complaining, maybe they'll actually stick with him for a full game, rather than just half, or a quarter.

It's a mess, they need to clean everyone out on that staff and start completely over. Everyone is fair game.

FYi... I'm only being partly serious here.

    looks like you are right

[h=4]Weaknesses[/h] Linear and lacking ideal play strength. Has to prove he can beat a more physical brand of press coverage. Very average suddenness out of breaks. Routes are inconsistent and sometimes lack sharpness.
