You're being selective. He shouldn't have responded that way but he was baited first.

He replied that way to someone who said they voted no...and they thought Tannehill could flourish...how was that baiting him?

I don't see post numbers from the app. If you're referring to his general statement, it's not valid. He didn't directly insult anybody. And let's not pretend like both sides don't say the other side's viewpoint is ridiculous.

Telling people they are clueless...and have no football intelligence in a reply to someone is not being general. It was in response to what a particular poster had said...

I voted "no" because I know we can win with Tannehill. I don't even need to factor in his contract. He's getting paid what a starter with a new contract gets paid.

Ive seen the good and I've seen the bad for four years. The guy is still growing and improving aspects of his game. I don't think it gets mentioned enough how his ball placement is a TON better than it was, even with the short stuff. He's more accurate even tho his % is down. His deep ball is fine.

Give him a running game and he will flourish.

    And the response...

yeah he flourished against the Ravens with a running game. Ck was nice about it. Anybody who wouldn't trade a 1st rounder for thill doesn't have much football intelligence. Anybody who wouldn't trade him for a top 15 is utterly clueless. Nevermind the fact he isn't worth what he's getting in terms of money.

And this is cool with you?

Please, please stop. BigNasty wasn't baited, he did the baiting.

He said "anybody." It's not a direct insult. It's not malicious. It's a benign comment. If we can't say others' opinions are stupid, that's ridiculous. All he's saying is whoever doesn't agree with that viewpoint is utterly clueless/mistaken/misinformed.

The response was a direct insult. Nobody should be told they're drunk and to never come back. That, I'm not okay with.

Dude, he quoted Mcduffie. He was responding TO HIM. It wasn't generic, it was specific.

And so we're clear, you're ok with calling people clueless, which is insulting, but telling them to finish their beer is somehow over the line. LOL

I think the never come back is just frustration with someone who's clearly not being accepting of others viewpoints.

    LMAO

Is really simple. He was talking to Mcduffie. He quoted him, and then said he was clueless, as he falls into the category that he generalized.

At best, it was a passive aggressive attack, where he insulted, but left this sort of out that you're arguing.

Notice, you're not arguing that BigNasty wasn't being insulting, just that he wasn't directing it at Mcduffie.

But he was, because Mcduffie is in the group that he called clueless and lacking football knowledge.

The only one spinning is you. He identified those who don't agree with trading Tannehill, as clueless and without football knowledge. Mcduffie, who the comment was directed at, due to how quoting and conversations work, falls into that group, and thus, was being told he is clueless and without football knowledge. People arguing semantics are clueless.

Yes and I wouldnt think twice about it, RT17 is an average overpaid QB who has proven 1 thing in the college ranks and NFL.... HE IS NOT A WINNER!! We paid him to be our focal point and he cant handle and lead an offense the way you would like someone who you just paid big money to do.

And quite frankly, there probably isnt one team who would offer a 1st rounder for an overpaid average QB. And he is 27, will be 28 next season, his development is over.

I'm quoting exactly what was said. There's no spinning involved. You're arguing the context makes it so that the comment was directed at him. There's only one problem with that- he didn't insult him personally. I'm just going to keep repeating myself if I keep responding to you. I'm not budging on direct vs general.

If you were to go to court for defamation and argue to the judge "yeah, but you know what he meant by that," you'd lose the case if it was a general comment.

I forgot to mention that RT17 doesnt seem to carry a passion for the game of football itself, he seems like a giy who is just happy getting paid, also, he seems like he doesnt fully understand the game of football.

I will never settle for mediocrity but yet again, it seems many do. He is as mediocre as mediocre gets. They should put RT17 picture next to the defintion of mediocre in Websters Dictionary

New question... is there a team that would be willing to trade a first rounder for Tannehill?

If so, which ones, in your opinion.

Ok bud. He categorized people who don't agree with trading Tannehill as clueless and without football knowledge. Mcduffie is in that group. That means, the comment is directed at him.

If I say that all women are b*tches, should my wife not be mad at me, because I didn't specifically say she was a b*tch? If I say all minorities are less of a person, should my co-workers who ate black not be upset because I didn't specifically name them?

Of course my wife would be upset, rightfully so. And of course my co-workers would be upset, and rightfully so.

Your position is untenable on this.

SPECIAL EDIT: JUST SO EVERYONE IS CLEAR, I DO NOT BELIEVE ALL WOMEN ARE B*TCHES, NOR THE BIT ABOUT MINORITIES. MERELY DEFAMATORY AND INFLAMMATORY STATEMENTS TO ILLUSTRATE A POINT.

I don't need anyone twisting those statements.

It's okay to be upset if you're thin skinned but he shouldn't be reported or warned because of it. He's not being misogynist or racist, he's mocking a viewpoint. It's the same thing as saying socialists or libertarians are utterly clueless.

What I'm saying makes perfect sense. Courts wouldn't rule in your favor if this was about defamation of character. It has to be a malicious, personal attack; it was neither malicious nor personal. Telling somebody to stop drinking Budweiser and to never return to the forum is malicious and personal.

That's your opinion. It's not malicious. Malicious involves wishing or intending harm to someone. But, further, why do you believe is OK to insult people who disagree with you? That's what you're defending. It's not ok to categorize whole groups of people as stupid, clueless, or whatever, simply because they believe differently than you.

The Budweiser and leave comment strikes me as something a bartender would say to someone in their bar who's being ornery and disruptive.

    And no, not malicious:

Malicious: characterized by malice; intending or intended to do harm

I don't believe there is a GM or team that would offer a first round pick for tanny. I would certainly let him go (even to a division rival) for a top 5 pick. I would love to blitz him every play and watch as he falls to the ground as he watches our DE gain on him from 5 yards away or more.

He will never lead a team to a playoff game. He doesn't have it in him. He had his best chances two years in a row when we just needed one win in the final few games and he folded like a lawn chair. Two of those teams back then were some of the worst. One thing I learned watching every tanny play since he has been here is, he folds under the pressure of a big game. As much as we all wanted him to win, he just can't do it.
