Sure why not, I like him and he still has the ability to play at a high level, can be a starter right away for us...A leader, sack master!....He'll definitely sign with someone in our division...Probably the Jets in which case I will call him washed up, overrated, and injury prone and simply a crappy has been player. If he signs with New England I will hate him beyond words and I will wish for bad things to happen to him.

If New England starts talks with him, the Dolphins need to make a move. I'm so damn tired of Brady and New England!

Better to get several decent FA's at LB, CB and/or OG for the same money you'd pay Mario.

No way. Someone will give him huge money. Way more than Vernon. If we can't afford 50, then we can't afford him either. Too many needs.

I was thinking it may help us keep OV.

Well, it would likely make OV the #2 (or lower) DE on the market, but I think that someone is likely to offer him more than he's reasonably worth, like with Odrick last year.

As tempting as it is, I would have to pass. A lot of our defensive line woes could be solved with a scheme change and a competent coordinator. We need to spend money on the linebacking corp and the secondary.

I'd sooner invest those millions in classes where our front office can learn how to draft properly.

Nah, power and speed coming off the edge, whether it be DE or OLB, is something this team desperately needs. Who knows what's happening with Wake, but you can see, when he's out, the terrible effect it has on the whole D. It's not just getting to the QB, but edge containment. Big need.

NO. I want to spend Free Agency shoring up the oline and resigning some of our players and then spend the draft on defense. On top of that defensive line is th last unit on defense we need to shore up. LBs and DBs come first

If anything, I'd rather Miami be players for Eric Berry, Rashad Johnson, Reggie Nelson or Dwight Lowery.

Nelson is probably most likely, Berry will have the highest paid safety contract.

I hope to god not. That would be a surefire sign that we have not learned from so many of the bad moves we make in the offseason that has yielded nothing for a decade.

Probably so, but Miami's got to win the offseason somehow, right? It wouldn't be a Steve Ross offseason otherwise, and my gut tells me that Miami's not going to win it with a head-coaching hire (unless it's John Harbaugh, or IMO Hue Jackson). What better than a cancer-surviving, Reshad Jones freeing up, high paid safety?!?

I don't want anything to do with him. I've never been real impressed with him as a player and he'll go get paid a lot of money somewhere for solid play.

Signing Williams would be a good idea if we were one player away. We are about 6 players away on defense alone. Rebuild.

    We should go after MARIO.

We can afford both MARIO and OV...EASILY. We can't afford MARIO, OV and WAKE. IF we sign MARIO, we lose WAKE. It won't be "a wash", but it won't be terrible, either. And if SHELBY does ANY bellyacheing, he can go, too...although I'd prefer to keep him as 1st DE off the bench, and even give him a little more $$$ and "p-t". (I greatly believe that fresh legs win in the 4th Quarter!) If all that happened, the DE problem would be solved instantly, and we would be better at that position than we were/could be w/WAKE-OV. That leaves "the LBing problem, and DT.

MIAMI tried to slide by at MLB w/nobodys. That failed badly. At the start of last preseason, 2Gs and a top shelf MLB were all that I felt MIAMI needed to seriously contend...and not just "make the Playoffs", either!! Well, they gambled, and they lost BIG as to both the Gs and MLB. It's frustrating for fans, and it was enough to make me SCREAM last preseason. Because e.g., PHILLY let a top shelf G named MATHIS (I believe) just walk. He was a TOP QUALITY F/A, just SITTING THERE! So what did stupid MIAMI do? SQUAT!!! Even though "cap space" was no problem at all.

Sorry I went beyond the question posed. I would answer that question w/a very, VERY loud "YES".

As to DT, I don't think that PHILLIPS has maxed out his talent yet. I DO see progress. Then again, it took a little while for "STARKS-SOLIAI" to gel into something terrifying on MIAMI inside "D"! You all remember: once STARKS-SOLIAI DID gel, NOBODY gained 150 freakin' yards rushing on us...NOBODY!

But if PHILLIPS can't give MIAMI a full "60 Minutes" (happens sometimes, down here in S Florida), then find ANOTHER similar-type DT and play both in a 2 man "Behemoth rotation" at that DT spot. Let MITCHELL (if MIAMI keeps him at all) back up SUH, and let it go at that!

We are the reigning offseason champs, 15 years and counting.. Got to keep the tradition of offseason domination like Mike Wallace, wheeler/ellerbe, suh, etc..

If you want another defensive end go after one that was actually productive
If the Jets let Muhammad Wilkerson leave for free agency I'd make him an offer
