Fans loved those hires too. Fans also loved the Saban hire and the Cameron hire. This is the one hire most fans don't like, which makes me optimistic.

Well now we know. A few posts ago it was an actual literal nightmare. He's not even coached a single training session and you've decided that it's over already. Reactionary pish. Settle down. If you are that upset that with no knowledge of his abilities or otherwise you're making I'm done with this team statements then go now. You have no obligation to this team or vice versa. They owe you nothing. You owe them nothing. A sub .500 season is enough for you to find another team? That's the behaviour of a spoilt child. Grow up.

There's an issue when people are praising his success with ONE audible for Manning in Denver, but ignoring his much more recent complete and utter failure with a team with similar personnel to the Dolphins.

This isn't even an upgrade over Dan Campbell. Lol. Gase is a career positions coach, two years as a OC is the only thing that really separates them. Again... Chicago's offense was ranked 23rd!

Exactly, and..

After 20 years of this? Yes. The time is coming sooner than later. I imagine the Dolphins have already lost a huge portion of their local fan base thanks to management failing hard for 2 decades. It won't get better as long as Ross is boss. I'm confident in that assessment.

Well im not thrilled but ill give him two years . No coach is set up to succeed in Miami next season. Lack of talent, awful salary cap (thanks aponte) this will be Tannehills fourth offensive coordinator or fifth.. Yeah

So what exactly did he do in 1 year of coaching the Bears 23rd ranked passing offense and 21st ranked overall offense to warrant a head coaching job? I think the troubling thing is this is another coach who will have to learn how to be a head coach on the job.

I don't pretend to know what qualifies a guy who can project to a head coach. For those of you who are more positive on this, why?

I have one major question regarding Gase. If he was thought of so highly by Peyron Manning while he was the OC in Denver.

Why is it that he wasn't even considered to be the Broncos head coach when they fired Fox after the 2014 season.? Instead the Broncos opted to hire a head coach who had previous head coaching experience and completely ignored Gase as a possible replacement for Fox.
Just wondering?

The Miami Dolphins have not yet held a press conference to announce Adam Gase as the teams head coach but Gase has already started filling out his staff. This according to multiple reports.
Gase has reportedly already named Bengals defensive backs coach Vance Joseph as his defensive coordinator and it appears that he is bringing at least one coach from the Bears with him to Miami. Joseph has never been a defensive coordinator.

Joseph is a top up and coming coaching candidate and will assume the role after the Bengals season ends. The Bengals play the Steelers tonight in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
We will have a lot more on the hiring of assistants and what they bring to the team once all this settles down a bit more. Stephen Ross had this to say about the Gase hire, whom the Dolphins have now officially announced.
“We did exhaustive research on all of the candidates ahead of time and conducted thorough and detailed interviews with each person,” Dolphins Owner and Managing General Partner Stephen Ross said. “In the end, I was convinced and the search committee was unanimous Adam was the right leader for our football team who best met all of our priorities. He has high-energy is competitive and driven to win with a mindset of teaching and developing players. ”

Lol...he followed Fox to Chicago after being the OC of the best offense in te league and history for 1 year. He did a worse job? Lmao.. he went from one of the most talented offenses in the league to a well below avg one and he did a worse job? So the OC is the only guy who has anything to do with the performance of the offense huh? U can't give him all the credit for the best offense in the league his 2 yrs in Denver just like u can't blame him for a mediocre offense in Chicago. It's all about talent. He didn't all of a sudden forget how to run an offense. It's clear you don't have a clue so why not take the wait and see approach? For crying out loud u think Gase will be fired in a max of 2 yrs despite ross never doing that and giving him 5 yrs and u don't even know why Gase left den for chi and actually say he got worse and must've been fired. Comical

This is going to be a young exciting staff. Sure beats the previous staff trifecta (HC, OC, DC) that could recall what it was like growing up in the great depression.

I wouldn't prefer a TE coach..

I'd prefer Hue Jackson or Tom Coughlin. At least the former did something with his team and QB with a similiar skillset to Tannehill. And the latter is a former superbowl champion and coaching legend. Either is a better option than jumping on this nobody Adam Gase. What a moronic move. Ross has to be one of the worst owners in pro football if not Thee Worst.

Mighty Tom Coughlin, with a worst record last 4 season than Joe Philbin.

Young and relatively inexperienced, especially at their new positions. Generally isn't a good sign of near-term success. Which suggests Ross really is in this for the long haul (5 years) to see if the coaches are a longer term answer. Not sure how many fans will have that kind of patience.

If we weren't going with a coach with experience. I wanted to keep Campbell.

I don't know much about Gase. I don't want to hear about what he did with Tebow or with Cutler.

Tell me about his personality. How is he going to change this culture? That's what's important here. Campbell was not a good head coach, but flipped our culture on its head rather quickly. We need that first and foremost.

Tell me his personality, his mentality, and his vision. What do you have for me?

Well you spoke of him like he had some illustrious career so... Reality check necessary. He's had 2 OC gigs. One he failed miserably the most recent. The other he had Peyton Manning in maybe one of his last great seasons as an ageing vet.

So lets say he's 1-1 as a OC at best, and his most recent job was a failure. The rest of his career he spent as a positions coach.

Would you rather have Adam Gase than Hue Jackson byroan?

My Packers buddy is making fun of me cause we got stuck with Philbin from his team now Gase from his rival the Bears. Good stuff.

Except that Jackson is just about a lock in SF (unless they screw it up again, like they did with Gase last year)... and Hue Jackson lately of the Raiders?? Coughlin has not made ANY noise about getting back into the game until the news broke today that he's talking with Philly....

Let's be real...

For those of you asking why the Broncos didn't hire Gase:

Gase was offered the SF job, but turned it down when they forced Tomsula onto him, at that point Kubiak had already been hired.

I know who the odds favor when you layout the names Hue Jackson, Tom Coughlin, Adam Gase. And we didn't even give those other more reputable names a fair shake at all. We didn't even look at Coughlin. I didn't hear of us interviewing Jackson either.

At best it's awful management.

For all we know, Coughlin just needed a change in scenery after coaching the NYG for so many years.

And Hue Jackson is taking the Andy Dalton led Bengals to a home playoff game.

How do we not look at these options more closely before we jump on someone like Gase? It's mind boggling to me and it should be to everyone but I guess it isn't. I think some people have already convinced themselves Gase is a good idea because it's who we got... lol

Not to mention they were riddled with injuries on the O side of the ball...but neither here nor there...everyone has injuries, but they do make a difference...
Either way you look at it, he was the most sought after 'hot' asst. this season and we got him... We can guess all we want about how successful he's gonna be, but we won't know until the chips play out...so chill a little and let's see what he does... before we burn him in effigy or fly banners over Nova during the offseason...

Hue and Coughlin would both be solid signings and may both be better than Gase. But your reasons for not liking Gase are ridiculous. You obviously know next to nothing about him and that's fine. Just think you look silly with your arguments about a guy you know nothing about and therefore hate because you know nothing about. For the record I was hoping for Hue because he's a good offensive minded guy like Gase but he has proven he can go 8-8 with a terrible franchise. I have little doubt tho Gase is a better pick than Campbell, which u seem to disagree with.

This is the kind of flawed, hysterical logic Fin fans are using. I know nothing about him so I'll judge him on his team's 1 year stats in Chicago and totally ignore the success in den cause he had a past his prime Manning. I'll give him no credit for Denver and all the blame for Chicago. Just dumb

I don't hate him. I hate the hire. Because he sucked last year under similar circumstances he will be facing with the Dolphins, only this time in an even more crucial role.

Did any of you guys watch the Bears this year? Are you really that excited to be like them? Because my mind works in a "what have you done for me lately" kind of way, sorry. And the Bears suck as much as Miami
