He just came out and said that. Whoever the OC is will be just a puppet. Hopefully it works out

A friend of mine is a Broncos fan. Gase was OC there. He said he loves to pass and look for a lot of 5 wide sets.

There will be no power I formation.

Pass percentage in Chicago was 54.30% good for 26th in the NFL. He reigned in Cutler quite a bit there. We have no idea how he will run things with full control.

I don't suffer from hopelessly blind optimism unlike some Dolphins fans who are looking for anything to get positive about these last 15 years or so.

saying "let's wait and see and possibly learn more about the guy" is hopeless blind optimism? Ok. Please quote 1 person who is ECSTATIC about this hire. I will wait.

Gase will adjust to his personnel. He's not Philbin who has one way of doing things and jettisons any talented player who doesn't fit his mold. What he did in Den has very little to do with what he will do in Miami. I wouldn't expect some ton of 5 wide passing with our passing game.

He has to be able to gameplan and use the players he has the right way. I want to see a coach/playcaller that molds himself to his talent and doesn't force his players to go away from their strengths. Only time will tell if he's going to be a good coach. Just like a draft pick its boom or bust. We'll know in three more years.

    Don't be so sure.

One of the first things he said at his press conference was that he will mold his offense to the strengths of his players. This guy has had a lot of influences throughout his football carreer, I don't think he will be tied to a specific scheme if he feels something else gets more out of his players, especially now that he is the Head Coach and has final say.

Lol...lost all credibility with that statement. The two are about as opposite as you can get. In your world, any white male who was a coordinator hired by miami is a Philbin clone.

Where did I or Anyone say it was a great hire? I know the same amount you do about this guy. ZERO. And you don't see me cutting my wrists via text like you are.
In your mind all you know about him is "PEYTON MANNING COACH. GASE NOTHING.". Again. Zero.

Both coached HOF QBs who don't need OCs and get undeserved credit when the offenses looked great. That's the comparison. I'm not impressed by his one season work with Cutler. The offense didn't do much better than ours. His red zone efficiency numbers for one in all the years he was OC even with Manning are concerning to say the least.

That's what should worry everyone. This wasn't the time to gamble on an inexperienced HC. This team needed leadership, competence, experience, and results. I'm not sure Gase is up for the Herculian task of getting this team in the right direction.

He may or may not turn this **** franchise around but he isn't going to run one type of offensive no matter what. He's already shown that with the difference in Den and chi. All falco had to do was look at the differences between his 2 stops and actually check the pass/run splits. Instead he took his friends opinion as gospel. The guy is clueless.

Your basis for this statement is....... that he worked with a HOF QB. Literally that's it.
Which is the equivalent of.....having no basis, really.

Wait and see, and quit cutting yourself.

Good to know. I haven't seen the press conference yet but one thing that continually comes up with Gase is his willingness to adjust to his personnel. The anti philbin indeed.

You know its such a great idea for a first time HC to call his own plays. Worked out well for Josh McDaniels. Cam Cameron. And the rest of other on the job training failures.

head coach should call the plays imo if hes an offensive guy so this doesnt bother me, im way more concerned with the fact they gave this guy full roster control for some reason

Who didn't need an offensive coordinator. How is Gase responsible for Denver's success if Manning was basically the real OC?

Mike Shula. Hue Jackson. Or a candidate from an recent or current playoff team who has a better resume of success.

And I wasn't a fan of hiring Shannahan or Coughlin. But at least they would've brought a good staff with them and some sort of record of success.

Are you a bunch of 10 year old kids?. Stop arguing. I made this post to say that Gase is going to be creating the offense/calling the plays. Not to argue if you agree with the hire or not. Which you already know I don't. Now stop!

Are you going to seriously argue that Gase ran that offense?

I suppose Tom Brady needs Josh McDaniels more than McDaniels needs him. Or Rodgers really misses Philbin.

I haven't looked at all of the stats but I'm willing to bet thatthe only time this guy was coach of an offense that was in the top10 was when Manning was leading the offense. I'm sure that Gase had very little input in Mannings offense. The most that Gase probably did was get Manning coffee and give Manning film of other teams. Ross should have hired Shanahan or Coughlin. Coughlin is a winner and we will be lucky if Gase is half the coach.
