Anyone ever seen this Japanese movie? Very visually brutal revenge movie with a very strange twist. Watched it recently to garner some ideas for a project I have been working on and must say, it made me feel...weird.
Bro for about the last 3 or 4 years EVERYTIME I go to Blockbuster I look for this movie and have never found it. I may just download it off Bit Torrent. I heard it was awesome.
You can buy it on the cheap off of amazon.com My buddy got it in this nice case with all sorts of extras for like 15 bucks.
It is in subtitles, but I think you guys will dig it. All I know is that the tooth torture hurts just thinking about it...
korean my friend... korean movie. First one in a trilogy which was followed by "Simpathy for lady Vengeance and Simpathy for Mr. Vengeance Lady Vengeance is not as good but more violent, Mr Vengeance is just as good.
I just rented it. Gonna be tough getting the gf to watch it with me though (blondes have a tought time with subtitles). I'll give an official review later.
Alright so I watched it last night. Sam Im not sure if you know this but the movie comes dubbed in English, no subtitles necessary. Anyhow... "Wow" is how I would describe this movie. Its visually stunning in many ways right down to the detail of the food, and physical characterisitics of its heroine. The dialogue was creative and entertaining, as were the fight scenes. You got the sense very early on that this was a "smart" movie that wouldnt show its hand until it beat you on the river... it did not dissapoint. Definitely a must see for any real fan of foreign films, or any films for that matter.
If you are interested in Koren movies you should also check out "Memories of Murder" and Kim Ki Duk, he has two really beautiful subdued movies called "Spring, summer, fall, winter... and spring" and "3-Iron" but his filmography before that was a bit more into the edgy violent things that people here like to watch. You should give it a shot. Also try out Johnny To if you like gantsta asian films and stuff like that.
