Same boat. I was posting on FH in the late 90's. Summing up enthusiasm for the Dolphins takes a titanic force of will. And then when you do show some optimism (see this last year) your heart is cut out. I was raised on the Dolphins but at this point it is show me don't tell me.
I would say it's fair to assume that the majority of us, my self included, feel the same way or similar. The reason we have other parts of the form is in part for situations like this past year where watching this team is barely tolerable.
I agree he can win you a game. I'm not sure he can lose you a game though. You'll have to hear me out on this. Let's say he goes cold. What's the form of that coldness? He's a guy that takes threes, does a lot of creating, stop-and-pop stuff, off-balance...newfangled Warriors-style basketball. If he's cold, and it costs you, what would have been the alternative? If the Heat had someone else in the game aside from a cold Gerald Green, it's not like they'd make any more three pointers. It would be what, Beno Udrih missing threes? Luol Deng missing threes? McBob missing threes? Justise "Clanks" Winslow? You're going to miss the threes anyway because this team is bad at threes. But when Gerald Green is on, suddenly they're hitting threes like a big boy sitting at the big boy table. If he's cold they're still just playing Miami Heat basketball. But if he's hot, they're playing Miami Heat basketball PLUS the three point prowess, which is fun to watch and very fundamentally sound.
If we try to keep pace with Golden State we dont have a chance tonight... The only way to beat that team is to get nasty, being very physical and make them uncomfortable, one of those grind it out games. Not sure the Heat are willing to play that style in the regular season but thats the way to beat Golden Stae. Basically we have to play like the Bengals tonight, except without the stupid penalties at the end.
Wade, Whiteside, TJ all gametime decisions. Sounds iffy. Not sure how many minutes Whiteside would get against the Dubs' lineups anyway. Tall task tonight, but hey, go out and compete, play good ball. Biggest test so far for our defense, certainly. Let's guard these dudes. And let's see here...only 6+ hours to go til tip.
It's too bad because there was that little spat between Whiteside and Green in the offseason. Whiteside would have almost certainly been highly motivated. He also might have tried to do too much, though.
John Calipari has officially lost his damn mind! http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/240400/John-Calipari-Seeks-10-Year-$120M-Contract-For-NBA-Return
David Bowie dies, the best and most influential teacher I've ever had passes away, Saban wins another championship (but fails to cover my bet on Bama -7.0 on a last second garbage TD), and Heat game starting to slip away. **** this day. Kill it with fire.
Not if you go on Heat Twitter.... These mother****ers are freaking out over this game too. let me get this straight...your all-star center is out....Curry goes nuts late, Draymond goes nuts all game...they are pulling shots out of their *** late in the shot clock all night, and you are still within 2 pts. at the half, and have a chance to win late at Golden State, where they haven't lost in damn near a YEAR (36 straight) and you freak out about it? The Heat fan is spoiled ROTTEN. Borderline obnoxious.
Compared to his friend/teacher passing it's pretty insignificant. And FWIW that's basically how knick fans felt when we were down 12 with 5 minutes to go in San Antonio last week and we put a furious rally on and lost by 1. Knick fans are deprived of winning and we almost snapped San Antonios 30 game home win streak with some real hustle plays late....I think they're at 32 or 33 in a row at home now.
If it weren't for the Heat fan's dedication to buying tickets and producing good TV ratings, I would think about whether they deserve to have this franchise.
Heat got the Clippers up next. Will Whiteside be available - is it known? Chances on beating the streaking Clippers (who are without Griffin)?
Knicks are now tied with the Celtics for 2nd in the Atlantic Division after the win tonight. I think they're on the verge of something really good with KP6 and melo after they combined for 37 of the teams first 56 points prior to Melo rolling his ankle and missing the rest of the game at about the 1 minute mark in the first half. Damn ref got in the way and melo stepped on his foot. The efficiency though was absurd as the were both something like 7-10 with multiple 3s. Jerian Grant had his best game as a pro and hit multiple jumpers which is a great sign since he's struggled a lot outside the paint. 16 and 8. 20+ for Afflalo as well. Defense could have been better but both teams were just raining deep jumpers and 3s all night. Another great game from KP6...every passing game puts him that much closer to stardom.
Certainly it looks like there's life in them thar Knicks this year. I'll actually be really happy to see the Knicks become perennial contenders. However, that .500 record is only good for 9th right now in a very competitive Eastern conference and with the rule change to ignore divisional placement they'll need to improve in order to make the playoffs.
With or Without Whiteside? (BR Article) "Ideally, the Heat would have more time to solve this puzzle. If Whiteside were operating on a rookie deal, Miami would have three or four years to pin down the length and value of an appropriate extension. But this case—like this player—is unique."
LeBatard was saying yesterday Riley has been cooling off on offering Hassan a max. I think it'd be great if we kept him but I wouldn't blame him for getting paid. Some team will likely overpay - but I hope he stays. One of my favorite players on the Heat and a blast to watch.
Goran Dragic has been sent home to take a MRI for his strained calf. SPO says it is not serious. we are ****ed.
Got married in Vegas this weekend....after a rough beat on Bama-6.5, my Heat homies came through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Spo also said McRoberts injury wasn't serious 2 months ago Hopefully it's not but our depth in the backcourt was already a problem
Ugh, that really sucks. Middle of a grind road trip, no less. He was playing a lot better lately. Calf injuries can be dicey, too. Hopefully it's nothing big.
Thank you Matt, you are the only other Phins and Knicks fan I know. Whenever you want to convert to the Mariners let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why would I convert to the mariners when I have the mets? M's haven't been relevant since Griffey lol.
That's my point why on earth would for a good team!! Although I'm interested to see what Phil does the trade deadline if anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nice bet. I hit a huge one this past week too (posted it in here, hope you had it)...then blew it all on the NFL playoffs. Congrats on getting married. A man is not complete till he is married. Then he is finished.
Thank you, i feel finished... Unfortunately I missed your advice, considering a SB weekend return...if so I will keep an eye out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Read my twitter TL? did I depress you? LOL Hope I didn't hurt your HW fandom. Guy is dumb. Just Dumb. If this coaching staff can't fix him, nobody can. Just a rebounder and shot blocker. Doesn't know how to PLAY basketball yet.
Really hope they can move HW. Guy couldn't pass to save his life Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
