So what exactly is the Adam Gase offense anyway?

I could care less about you. You're just usually wrong which is why it always seems like we're on opposite sides.

I'm neutral on Gase. Head coach is completely different than anything. Is he going to focus on Tannehill and ignore everyone else? He's going to be pulled in 100 directions. His positional coaches are going to do the leg work. I don't get excited about hires anymore. Cameron was my last one. After that, I just wait and see. didn't like Wannstedt. Excited for Saban. Excited for Cameron. Meh on Sparano. Wait and see on Philbin.

Actually, I didn't wait and see on Philbin. When he was hired, I said, we'll see. THen Hardknocks came out and I didn't want him.

Gase. Let's see what he does. More often than not, coaches fail. I'll give the guy 3 years because I don't dislike him like I did Philbin.

Interested in getting to know Gase and what he is all about, also interested if he plans on inserting a zone blocking scheme. Will be doing some research soon.

Its okay to be excited about anyone, but we truly do not know how good a guy will be at being an actual HC as opposed to an OC. Norv Turner, Wade Phillips, Dick Lebeau all come to mind as BRILLIANT and I mean BRILLIANT coordinators who struggled with the full bag. Interested to see how it plays out although initially I was a tad uneasy Miami pulled the trigger so fast. Must have really liked him.

While that's true, Philbins role as a powerpoint spellchecker was out pretty early in the process. In this case we have evidence that barring anything else Gase is at least proficient at doing something that isn't janitorial services.

 

Cam freakin' Cameron was considered an up and coming brilliant coordinator.

The HC position is just a whole different beast. It concerns me that he's going to be relied upon to lead this entire team, tutor Tanny, and also handle the play-calling. That's a tall order for a first timer.

 

Agree but some coaches throve in that situation and some fold. Who knows

And I'm down with that. Getting someone half competent in there is half the battle. I just don't get excited anymore. HC job is soooo different than being a coordinator. Quick. What defensive magic did Tomlin bring with him to the Steelers. He had a preference for a 4-3 and comes to the Steelers, keeps Lebeau.

Then you have Arians who has years of coordinator experience and definitely puts his imprint on the team.

Wait and see, again, is my mantra. He's a QB whisperer but will he have time. He's the CEO now. His positional coaches are the ones who will carry out his orders.

 

i wouldn't want you to do anything else, if you your giving him a clean slate to impress or discourage speak your mind when you see strength or weakness, but I'm not going in with preconceived notions, we simply don't know they dynamics and variables attached to him.
