Really really liked the Rumble, thought from start to finish everything was well booked. The opener was fantastic, those guys went all out and I liked that both guys continued to sell the injuries in the Rumble too. Tag team match was good, US title match was fine (although I hate the 50/50 booking and trading wins/titles), Women's match was good too and Sasha returned with a big pop.

Thought the Rumble was the best its been in 5 years and clearly the WWE learned from the last two years. My only nitpicks were that yeah Brock just left, he should have went back in and eliminated Bray and maybe F-5ed everyone in the ring, and that were was a lot of laying around by the guys in the ring waiting for cues or angles/spots to happen.

I do wonder if/when the WWE is concerned about Reigns and the lack of fans getting behind him. He was booed out of the building and the biggest cheers were when he was eliminated. I just don't think fans are backing him and if they go with Reigns and Triple H at WM he's going to be booed. I also don't think the Rumble did anything to help him get over, he was in there for a while, then went to the back to take a break, came out and got eliminated.

Good to see guys like AJ Styles, Owens, Ambrose and Zayn get big pops.

The biggest question is who the hell is The Undertaker going to face at WM? Maybe Owens?

 

Triple H is fat..

 

Triple H looked old and winded....hope he loses at fastlane, maybe a Ambrose heel turn afterwards setting up reigns/ambrose. Cause I don't wanna see old tired HHH as champion for 2 months and headlining WM

 

I would have liked to see Reigns get involved in the finish of the Rumble, maybe trying to help Ambrose eliminate Triple H but cost Ambrose the match by mistake to plant the seeds of a heel turn for either of them.

Speaking of looking old/fat, man Jericho needs to start doing his DDP Yoga again.

 

How can you like the Rumble when it was completely predictable, right from the order of eliminations right down to the results? The rest of the matches were great...the Royal Rumble sucked IMO.

 

Everyone called Triple H winning the championship after the "beatdown" he got from Reigns. His return was so predictable. I thought he would win the rumble and then face Reigns in Wrestlemania, now people have Reigns beating him at Wrestlemania. I dont know though, i think there will be something more added into the mix here. Just hope its not something lame like Rock or Stone Cold as special guest referee. Maybe a triple threat match for the title at wrestlemania, or something else bigger. It cant just be a simple reigns vs triple h matchh or we are allgoing to be put to sleep..

 

There's nothing wrong with something being predictable as long as there's a good story being told. Everything done in the Rumble match last night for the most part made sense and there was logic behind it all.

 

Right now it looks like it will be Reigns with The Rock in his corner vs. Triple H with Vince and Stephanie in his.

I completely agree that it's not a very exciting main event to WM but the WWE's hands are kind of tied with all the injuries and them blowing big time matches already. I'm no Reigns or Triple H fan by any means and would rather have anyone in the main event but those two are really the only option unless the WWE wanted to run Brock/Reigns 2 or Brock/Undertaker 2038201 or Reigns/Undertaker there's really no another realistic option. Part of the problem is the WWE hasn't built new stars so the Ambrose, Owens etc of the world aren't big draws right now. Hell neither is Reigns but Vince wants to make him the next Cena no matter what so you're stuck with him.

The WM card this year is going to look very eh on paper.

What are the chances Seth Rollins is healthy by Wrestlemania.. Seriously.. Probably not very likely till summerslam.

 

I literally cant wait for Seth Rollins to come back.

 

It's going to be pretty close. If all goes well he's due back in mid-April-ish I think. WM is April 3rd I think. I wouldn't count on him being involved in a match or anything like that. Most likely he'll return the night after RAW but probably won't wrestle until Extreme Rules.

 

The only time Reigns hasn't been booked poorly has been his time in The Shield and, even though I wasn't a fan of the angle, the time he beat up Triple H. Everything else he's looked like a chump.

It also doesn't help that the fans just aren't buying him as a main eventer and the Vince/WWE is just too stubborn to give up on the project.

 

This was probably the worst appearance of Raw, The Rock has ever had..

 

God that was awful i feel bad for The Rock, he deserved a more significant appearance than the clowns from New Day

 

Calling it now ambrose vs reigns at fastlane for number 1 contender

 

Well i got two of three right, they had to squeeze Brocks ego in the main card for fastlane

 

Brock stays home and drinks beer. Gets put in main event. And authority who wants to "screw Roman" puts him in match. Horrible story telling

Yeah the writers are horrible.. They need to get rid of the writers and just stick to booking..

 

I disagree. AJ Styles vs. Jericho made it worth watching Raw. (BTW, AJ Styles entrance music is awesome. It's a takeoff of "No Sunshine" by DMX.) Cuz it's Dark..and Hell is Hot.

 

I actually really enjoyed the Rock on Raw. He was energetic as soon as he got out of that truck. I loved the whole segment to be honest! Best part of Raw for me!

 

I meant The Rock's segment was just awkward and bad. Looked like he was winging it..

 

Yup this is the kind of crap that drives me crazy. The Authority has been trying for months to keep Reigns away from the WWE title, they finally do it so what do they do? You put him in a #1 contender's match. Such lazy freaking booking and writing.

And who wants to bet on who gets pinned at Fastlane.

Also does it make any sense for the WWE to put Reigns in a match with probably the two biggest crowd favorites in Ambrose and Lesnar and expect the crowd not to crap all over Reigns all match, especially at the end when he wins? The WWE would be better off putting Reigns in a handicap match against Sheamus, Rusev and Del Rio instead. The WWE desperately wants Reigns to be the next big star so they continue to put him in no win situations with the crowd.

 

Wouldnt shock me if Brock wins and then it turns into Reigns vs Ambrose for the IC title at Wrestlemania.. But i dont know.. It has been amateur hour for the WWE.

They should hire Scott Hall or Cornette to do something about the booking and writing.

Brock vs Triple H, and Reigns vs Ambrose is a lot more interesting to me at this point.

But there still hasnt been any closure to the terrible chapter of Triple H and Reigns so thats whats going to end up with.

Also rumors of Zayn vs. Owens at WM too.

 

Meltzer is reporting that Samoa Joe is going to get promoted to the main roster as early as the day after WM. Originally he signed to only appear on NXT but the WWE is very impressed with him thus the promotion.

So the WWE in the next year or so could have a roster of:

Brock, Cena, Rollins, Ambrose, Wyatt, Owens, Balor, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Zayn, Nakamura, Hideo Itami, Apollo Crews, Gallows, Anderson, Cesaro and holy hell that's a crap ton of great workers.

Hopefully the WWE writing staff will go back to simple stories of Wrestler A hates Wrestler B so they're going to fight to see who's better.

 

that match has Juice. Also frees up AJ Styles to take on one of the lessor title holders.

What I don't understand is why the NXT Champion doesn;t defend his title at WM. They put him on the day before in a non-title match, and it seems like a waste.

A Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles title match would be MASSIVE, and you can even put that as the Co-Main Event.

 

Yeah having a 4 hour PPV you'd think they would have room for an NXT match especially showcasing the NXT champion but I can understand too why they want to keep them separate.

 

rewatched the royal rumble and I got to say, the two best performers was Jericho and Ambrose IMO.. Jericho for a "fat guy" is still athletic as hell, still doing moves like he did when he was a "cruiserweight" in WCW..

Right now the plan is for The Undertaker to face Braun Strowman at WM. I mean really? It's going to make Undertaker/Giant Gonzalez from WM9 look like Flair/Steamboat.

I really don't think this is a good idea, I'd much rather see Taker face Kevin Owens. At least Owens is a credible opponent and would most likely get a good match out of him. Strowman is just greener than grass and Taker won't be able to do anything with him.

But hey WM is only about getting Roman Reigns that WM moment even though he's been sinking the ratings since he's been moved into the #1 baby face position.
