I really don't see any decent QB prospects this year worth spending a late round pick on. We have too many holes to fill to waste a pick on a QB that won't play.

Hey, I'm a Wolfpacker season ticket holder. I liked Brissett and he had some fine games for us. I just don't see him as a NFL quality QB. He's not accurate at all and can't throw the out very well. You have to be able to do that in the NFL. Too many times did he throw at people's feet or throw behind his receivers. Don't get me wrong though that I didn't appreciate him. The guy was tough as nails and I saw him push defensive linemen off like they were corners and when there should have been a sack, there would be a first down or a big play. He lost his two big running backs and Canada seemed to put him in stupid situation where it was damn near impossible for him to succeed. Maybe with the right system and QB coach, he could be a NFL QB?:confused2:

I like Tannehill and want him to succeed. I'm curious what he could do with even an average offensive line. If he doesn't succeed this year, I don't think he ever will.

I saw Greg Jennings in an interview and he basically confirmed what a lot of folks on here have been saying. He said that Ryan has the work ethic and desire to be great but he has not been given a lot of freedom by the coaching staff to actually lead the team. Very interesting...

Yeah... another big problem would be trying to throw it to his un-open self.

its very hard for me to understand how a coach or coaches limit a qb's responsibilities at the los when all coaches know the advantages of the process, the QB has the best time seeing something during the week on film, then seeing it at the LOS, changing the play, and sticking it to the defense..I mean it's football 101 and it's been going for a long time.

You don't fill holes with late round picks...

If your scouting is good, you can find quality depth which is something that we have been lacking in certain positions. I guess that is technically filling a hole...

Brady Quinn had a great work ethic. That's not enough. These two coaches Philbin and Lazor saw enough that they didn't want to give him more responsibility. I think Philbin is a crap coach but Lazor just Led us to a decent offensive year last year and Tanny's best stretch as a pro.

They may very well be wrong. But they could be right. Let's see.

Unless the QB struggles with that part of the game, that's the bell that keeps ringing for me, we've heard as much from the coaches, and I've seen with my own eyes how that could be and probably is true, his awareness is suspect, so it will be interesting to see how this develops with Gase.

But your eyes are telling a different story than Lazor, who said Tannehill was as good at recognizing and adjusting as any QB he'd worked with.

He is also an OC who DIDN'T give him control citing that it interfered with his rhythm.

he also said some other things that were not very complimentary.

we also heard our own dan campbell say that the more responsibility you gave him the more his tempo and rhythm were affected in a negative way..

    whatta you wanna believe?.

from what we've seen and heard the game just seemed more simple if ryan could just drop and throw..thats what it looks like when you see ryan play, drop and throw to his first read most of the time, with little room for improvisation.

Jennings also confirmed my theory that our staff babied Ryan...and now the practice squad comments speak a little louder.

Thats on the staff for believeing you can create the right mental state of a franchise QB by protecting him mentally.

    You cant do that.

Confidence is important to any player in any sport, but its the NFL and we have a cruel media always ready to pounce. You have to be able to handle things that happen early in your career to help build who you hope to be.

I believe that he did a good job correctly identifying and adjusting, but, it took him longer than they wanted. Where I disagree is how they handled it. Seemingly, instead of working with him to help the young QB get faster, they simply took away the option.

That's actually true. Problem is in the NFL most of the coaches coach in fear of their jobs and not what is best long-term.

The right thing to do was to throw him into the fire, and live with the results.
