Whiteside isn't going anywhere. Dude has 3 triple doubles this season and one off the bench. He's a great player and just hope he stays here next year as well.
We got outscored by 30 from the 3 pt. Line and won. Pat....you know what to do. This team wants to do.....more.
Holy **** Whiteside! Just dominant. Really nice win to finish the road trip. Having that off the bench is kind of insane. It's interesting that both Dragic and Whiteside seemed to be/fit much better after missing games. It's like they could sit back and watch the floor for their role better or something, pick up on little things as a spectator. I know it coincided with Spo tweaking the offense, but I still feel like they made tweaks of their own having watched from a different perspective. In other news...Bosh is one of the very best players in this League. I'm sorry, but people need to realize how ****ing amazing he's been this season. He does EVERYTHING so well.
Gallo with another big game. Perfect from the FT line, 33 points on 12 shots. Is this Trevor Ariza syndrome we're watching?
Things are going to get interesting for this Heat team. Feels like we're finding a real identity. Getting pretty damn excited. If Whiteside keeps defending in space like this, I could see this new no-PG thing as one of Spo's go-to lineups. Wade-Winslow-Deng-Bosh-Whiteside. - Long, plus defenders who can guard multiple positions, with Justise handling super-athletic PGs when needed. With that size and IQ on the floor they could probably play some damn good zone if they really wanted, lol. - They're all fantastic rebounders. - Offensively you've got high-IQ types who move off the ball really well, a couple guys you can run the offense through. Then you mix in some of this new (insane!) Bosh-Whiteside PnR. Could be a seriously dynamic group on both ends. The power of Bosh! Like Sect suggested, it does feel like there'll be a move for a shooter. Bit of a logjam going on...McBob, Deng, or Green seem move-able. Green is tough to figure out sometimes, man. We shall see.
There has been 4 triple doubles with blocks the last 3 years. Hassan Whiteside is responsible for all of them.
He's also been responsible for about 90% of all Heat related "Holy sh@%" moments when looking at box scores.
Top highlights of the night: God himself couldn't have scored on Whiteside on that last block, all due respect to Pat Riley.
After some careful consideration I will be wagering the most I ever have wagered on an NBA game tonight. Thunder+8. Small bet on Thunder ML +330
same here, i made this decision last week right when i saw the reporter ask Westbrook about Currys prediction. Russell has had this game circled ever since, he puts on a show tonight and makes a statement.
By the way 20 years ago on this date Charles Barkley put on a show with the Phoenix Suns, dominating and handing the Bulls their 5th loss.
Just a couple thoughts on why... 1-How often has GS been tested for 4 quarters this year? A lot less than anyone else. 2-Can Westbrook make Curry work hard enough on Def to effect his Off? 3-Athletes. OKC has them....they won't be standing around falling victim to the fantastic ball movement GS has. That being said? The Warriors certainly have games where they are simply unguardable.....I think they MUST have one of those types of games to win by 9 plus. Here is to hoping it is not tonight.
I wonder if the Thunder will have an answer for the Warriors small ball. They'll be sacrificing Adams's defense and Kanter's superb offense for long stretches if they counter with a small line up of their own. Waiters is also a - defender so Thompson should be able to get some good looks. I think this game will go based on Thompson and Green. Thompson has the most favorable match up for the Warriors and Green has to be able to counter strong interior defense and rebounding. He figured out how to beat tall players in last year's finals but Ibaka is a better defender with more offensive and defensive range than Thompson and Mozgov. Going to be a great battle between Curry and Westbrook though.
They dont need to overcomplicate it. Russell and Durant is all the offense you need, everyone play their role, limit the turnovers and they should be in position to win in the final minutes. If you start changing everything to match up to Golden State then you already lost. You have to have your own identity.
They may be well served by it though. They have the NBA's best scoring line up in Westbrook-Waiters-Durant-Ibaka-Kanter. I think they go to that well more than usual tonight for some instant offense. They overwhelmingly run sets with Adams at 5 and swapping SG's but if they want to run with GSW they'll have to pour in some points at some...point. Gonna be interesting to see what happens. Roberson is a far better defender than Waiters but when he catches that J.R. Smith/Jerry Stackhouse fever he's dangerous.
You can guard GS for stretches. But as the quarters go on and they just keep coming with all the screens and the movement...you just wear down, physically and mentally. They just wear you out and eventually break you. I wonder if playing them in a long series makes that easier or just more exhausting. GSW best players weren't at their best tonight, not even close, really. Still beat a hot West contender.
WHOA..the Push god is alive. Glad you got out ok.... Personally..I will NOT bet against this Dubs team.
Bovada just took a bet off their board that I was gonna pound. Bet was CP3, Under 21.5 pts. vs. Heat, and Panthers Under 21.5 pts. vs. Broncos for +375
OKC did very well in the second half.. Russell being in foul trouble in the first quarter did them in. I still lost yesterday Had the following bets Okc 1st quarter +2.5 for .25 unit (okc was in control till the last 3 minutes.. So dumb) Okc half +4.5 for .5 unit Okc ml for .5 unit +8.5 for 1 unit Oh well, i do better in college basketball, its not even close.
Ima guess that Phil is targeting Luke Walton, he wanted Kerr but since he cant get him he will get his assistant. For now Kurt Rambis will be their interim HC.
The other name i read is Brian Shaw, I highly doubt Dolan wants another triangle guy in his team. It will likely be pushed to get Luke.
So would they have to wait until the season is over to hire Luke because he's on the Warriors staff? I can't remember a team hiring another team's assistant mid-season before.
