Mine would be Jalen Ramsey, but it doesn't look like he'll be there. Soooo... I might prefer to drop and get two stud O-linemen. Vadal Alexander could be permanent guard and get Stanley to play guard early and backup at tackle. Stanley might be gone also, but I'd consider it a coup if we somehow ended up with those two. I'm skeptical of Myles Jack and Hargreaves, but not for any real solid reasoning. It's a bit early in the process, but I love the draft...
I'm starting to like Jack. I heard the same glowing review from Rafael, but after his man crush with Melvin Gordon I grew skeptical. I was initially skeptical due to his split duties and his height/weight. Both Jack and Ramsey will probably be off the board by our pick if opinions stay the same.
Maybe not... I just can't see Dallas and even the Browns getting a QB so that is 2 places. Maybe Dallas would take Ramsey but I don't think so. Chargers need everything just like 'Phins. Tunsil and Bosa two more so there is a chance for one at least to still be there. Probably alot depends on Jack's speed/agility at the combine.
Ramsey, Jack, Hargreaves for me. Ramsey will probably be gone. Jack seems 50/50. Hargreaves would be my fall back option. For Jack we just need 7 players to be taken ahead of him. It seems likely that Ramsey, 2 DL, 2 QBs and at least 1 OL will be among the first 7. We just need one more guy to sneak up there. I think only Jacksonville and Baltimore are threats to take Jack based on need, but obviously some other team could fall in love with him.
I have a darkhorse pick. Given that we may not resign Lamar, how about Ezekiel Elliot? If we do keep Miller, I'm all in on either Hargreaves or Jack.
I know it's total superstition and I have never even seen this kid play, but am I crazy to think anyone would be crazy to take a DE out of OSU in the top ten?
When I pounded the table that hard for Eric Kendricks last year, then you know I'm all in for Myles Jack this time around.
I'd go: 1) Ramsey 2) Bosa 3) Jack 4) Hargreaves III 5) Nkemdiche The bold ones are the guys I think could be there at 8.
being a UCLA Bruins fan its Myles Jack for me then DB Ramsey/Hargreaves/Alexander OT Stanley LB Smith flash forward to this thread in 2018 QB JOSH ROSEN!!
If both Jack and Hargreaves are there I can see them going with Hargreaves. It just seems both the FO and the coaches value the CB position a little more than the LB position. Vance Joseph was a CB coach and has stated that his core philosophy is to have good CBs and good pass rushers. Tannenbaum also has said that CB is a premium position on defense. I'm thinking we go Hargreaves unless Jack's available and they think he's a can't-miss prospect.
A little more? That philosophy is what makes me want to pull my skin off every time our D can't get off the field on 3rd downs.
http://m.miamidolphins.com/news/art...iversary/f8c7e307-c568-461d-ab04-86d2511e6869 It's true, there's an interview recently with Tannenbaum at the Super Bowl with what's his face and Sam Madison. He was asked what it felt like as a Jet when they faced Madison and Surtain. He said it impressed him so much that it is his blueprint for building a defense. I put the link at the top 'cause of my crappy tablet...
Ramsey would be my runaway choice after doing my thorough youtube video scouting. He certainly looks the part
They better do their homework on Lynch, because a lot of boards have him slipping to mid first round. He may be the guy everyone will be scratching their heads why they didn't pick him...
Considering who might be there, though it is still early, Hargreaves looks good to me, he has the potential to be a real good CB, and we need that maybe above all, and I'm sure that our new DC will be banging the table for a CB or a passrusher, and he looks like he may be BPA for our current needs, and possibly just BPA, which would be perfect. On a draft side note, falling in love with Dak Prescott, this kid could be a bigger Wilson, he has all the intangibles, is a great runner, and I do mean great, has worked REAL hard on improving his passing and it is working, isn't consistent with his technique yet, but when he is using it, it is very high quality, has a beautiful effortless "pitter pat" when he 's using it. Smart, tough, died in the wool leader, who strives and works hard for greatness, personally couldn't let this kid get past me in the 2nd round.
Didn't he under-play in college for the most part tho? The last couple of years I heard alot about him before the seasons... but his team didn't pull thru. I really have no idea of his play tho.
Ramsey with the first, Spence with the second, though I doubt Spence will last that long. His mojo is risin'
Sorry, but Mr. Prescott doesn't impress me in the least, and not because he went to "that other school". Maybe it's behind him, but there's a reason he got his *** beat at a music event. He IS NOT someone you would want leading your football team. As I said, maybe some things are behind him, but there are so many other better options. I just don't see him doing much. I think the NFL will be too big for him. Don't buy the Senior Bowl hype.
Carson Wentz is the greatest QB prospect since.....................ever. Book it! Surefire Hall Of Famer!
From all accounts, he and his 2 team mates were basically jumped by a Tennessee crowd, the police report has them as the victims, he is known as a very good guy who does things the right way, so I'm not sure what you mean by there being reasons, and I'm not sure what "that other school" means, except that he plays for a rival of your school, so maybe you're being a little biased? Not trying to provoke or anything but I have to admit it seems that way to me, since Prescott pretty much has glowing reviews as a person, and this being such an isolated event, and not one of those "it's the only time he got into trouble" things, because he didn't get into trouble, he was the victim of trouble. We're talking about an honor roll student, lol, the guy doesn't spend his time partying, he spends it studying, and he has amassed a ton of records on the field, has played really well in the big games and has shown a dedication to learning how to play QB the right way, he has not rested on his laurels, he has diligently learned how to QB the right way and it is paying dividends. So you can see why it seems to me that you may be just a little biased here, your accusations really seem to be coming out of left field, again, no offense intended.
If we draft Jack which position will he play? Our biggest need is at MLB and everything I've read of him seems to indicate he's better suited to be a Will in the NFL. If we keep him at Will what will we do with Jelani Jenkins who is arguably our best LB? I don't know, I just fear if we pick Jack and force him to be a Mike, it'll be another Dion Jordan situation where we pick a guy who's a freak athlete and miscast him.
If Miles Jack was on the board when we were drafting, it would take me a nanosecond to pull the trigger. The way football is played now, Jack will be the new mold for linebackers. He is insanely athletic and fast. The dude lined up at corner on a few occasions and did well in coverage. I think that Jack is the answer to receiving tight ends that create mismatches. The fact that we face Gronk twice a year makes the decision even easier.
If I were going middle rounds I would go with Doughty QB. He has run the offense it sounds like our new head coach likes, bubble screens and such. He also worked out with Marino recently, which I found interesting; and is a big Dolphins fan.
Still interested in Jack's speed/quickness at the combine, but I think him right now. Ramsey would be fine tho.
We face Gronk, Marshall, Decker and Watkins 2x a year. We need someone who can match up with them. Ramsey seems most likely. Hargreaves seemed to struggle a bit with bigger receivers - he is not a big guy himself. Good player, maybe not the best fit for our team. I would also beat the drum for a DL if Jack and Ramsey are both gone. Lots of good DL play in last few SBs and that is not a coincidence. Good DL covers a lot of weakness. Robinson, Buckner, Billings, etc.
Crap... wanted to see him healed up. He may make it... I hope he does. Ramsey or the OL- Stanley (sp?) may be there if he does go before 8.
