Yes, without question. He's not the dominant force he once was, but he'd be a massive upgrade for Miami.

For the same reason, they should also look at the turd my dog just dropped in the yard.

I mean people at least take a second to go around dog turds.

I have a view that its always better to sure up your offensive line through the draft, but that mainly has to do with salary. If he comes at a fair price I'm all for it.

If we can sign at least one solid guard and one solid corner I'll feel better about the state of this team.

Dolphins should be looking at any possible options at Guard. So, yes.

Kind of a silly question. We have the worst G's in football....a decent G may be available....should we take a look? I mean, really? I don't mean to sound like a dick, but this is like asking if a starving man would be interested in a pizza.

I'd take the guard equivalent of Ramen Noodles at this point. Cheap and unexciting yet reliable.

Their cap room in the coming year, his age and his cap hit had he been kept.

It was a money move for the saints. We should always look at including any member that would make our team better. I like philosophy JJ had, if a player was better then the last player (the 53rd) on the roster, you sign him. Your team just got better.

This is what I thought, so I checked his contract, his base salary was 3.8 mil, with 4.4 mil in bonuses, putting him at 8.2 mil against the cap, however cutting him leaves 5.1 mil in dead money with a 3.1 mil in cap savings.

So this wasn't just for clearing cap space, there is another reason, PFF(which I take with a grain of salt) had him dropping a lot to the 27th OG, so diminishing skills could be the other reason, and they may also have an answer on the roster, but that is just speculation on my part, I have no idea if they do.

4 time all pro and 6 time probowler, will be 33 prior to the start of the season, he may want to get paid more than he's worth, the most I would pay him is a 2 or 3 year deal at 4 mil per with the first year guaranteed no signing bonus.

Some team will probably be willing to pay more, we shall have to see.

I'd rather gamble on Geoff Schwartz...younger, better and more versatile.

Not as durable as Jahri Evans though. Any contract for Schwartz needs to be taking into account his recent lack of durability. He's missed 19 games the past two seasons.

With 64 starting guard jobs in the NFL, getting two who rank in the 20s is a significant improvement for us.

I agree, and as I said I would sign him, but I wouldn't break the bank on him, I feel another team may pay him more than he's worth, and the last thing we need to do is throw a bunch of money at an aging declining player, imo.

I agree 110% with you, but Schwartz is the exact type of guy we've gone for lately. Good reward if he stays healthy, but high risk because of his durability. Nice way to save a few bucks.

Personally, As shady as our OL has been, I wouldn't look to penny pinch here with a high risk, good reward guy.

This line could go from bottom third, to top 10 by just adding a guy like Evans to play RG, and then when free agency opens sign Alex Boone to play LG.
Albert-Boone-Pouncey-Evans-James is a definite playoff worthy line. Boone would be a great add because he can start and be top notch at either guard spot and fill in at OT if need be and not be an embarrassment like Fox was.
