I think Mando wrote this article for you considering your belief before the season that we had a championship roster.

the stupid assumption is that we need to fill all these holes this offseason. we're not going to the Super Bowl next year. If we even filled half of these holes successfully, then we could take the first step towards the playoffs.

I sure thought we would start 5-0 or 4-1... major disappointment.

    Truly enlightening article there.

I'm sure next he'll be enthralling us all with the stunning revelation that the Dolphins did not, in fact, finish 18-1 this year.

I'm actually angry with myself for predicting 9-7 before the season.

However, isn't this the same thing we go through every year or two, I think that is the gist of the article, can we rely on the FO to fix even half the holes? Last year they made the team worse in these attempts.

Not trying to be argumentative, just pointing out these unfortunate facts, I hope we can change it, but it's impossible for myself at least, to have faith at this point.

We got rid of Philbin because we didn't start off well, so maybe it wasn't so bad after all. Just imagine if we finished 9-7 like many predicted and failed to make the playoffs (WC this year required 10-6). We'd be stuck with Philbin for the next 5 years!!!

Really you think? I mean who knows, but I don't think Ross had any issue with Philbin except the lack of success on the field. If he had a 9-7 season, I'm pretty sure he doesn't get fired and has some cred going forward. Also, Ross wants continuity so he holds onto people longer than he should. No I think we'd be stuck with Philbin if he had a winning season because it would give Ross reason to think that in the long run Philbin is the right guy.

If that's all you got from that well ...

People were scratching their heads when Elway fired Fox. Shades of AJ Smiths ego came to mind.

    Yet he pulled it off.

    The point is: Ross.

I wonder if the same brigade will be able to contain themselves when the same washed and repeated headlines come out before the 2016 season.

    "DeVante Parker looks to breakout"
"Defense has traits of dominant group"
"Tannehill ready to become a franchise qb"
"Landry thinks offense will be a top 5 unit"
"Gase believes Tannehill as good as Manning in his prime"

.....If you think the media is full of crap then fine, just TRY not to pick and choose which articles are "credible" based on it jiving with your opinion.

Unfortunately with the change in coaching staff, a lot of fans are once again going to fall into the trap of believing the Dolphins are going to be a legitimate playoff contender next year.

Personally I think another 6-10 record next year is far more likely than even an 8-8 record. I believe it is going to take three solid drafts before the Dolphins are going to be a legitimate playoff contender.

If they aren't able to draft at least 12-15 players over the next three drafts who can come in and be major contributors and 3-4 all pro type players in those drafts, they will just continue to remain a mediocre to bad team in the future.

I am certainly willing to give Gase a few years to see if he is the right man for the job. I just hope Tannebaum does a lot better job of providing him with some quality talent to coach. There have just been far too many mediocre to below average players on the Dolphins roster in recent years and that is why this team hasn't had a winning record in the last 6 seasons.

Obviously Gase didn't think coaching was the main problem. Because he retained nine of the coaches from Philbin's staff. I was hoping he would clean house, but as a first time and young head coach, perhaps he couldn't entice a lot of other experienced assistant head coaches to come and work for him.

Didn't they say the Broncos had only 6 players from the Super Bowl 2 years ago on the team?

Are we supposed to just reside ourselves to misery and despair or just indifference? That's kind of boring. It's just f'ing sports.. Have fun with it.

You know, a lot of the people who are saying that they're not getting their hopes up or buying into any hype, etc, really seem to be putting a lot of effort and time into expressing such. Why? Ok, we get the point. It's bizarre how passionately indifferent some are becoming.

Dolphins, Yankees, Knicks. The Bombers have surely given me good times, but as far as sports go, the Phins is by far my greatest love or passion or whatever. :pointlol:

I have the panacea for all ailing Dolphin fans. I have been using this cure-all for several years now and it works like a charm.

Become a rabid fan of the North Dakota State Bison. FIVE national championships in a row and looking good for 2016. Best managed and coached sports team in the world. They do everything the right way, with humility, integrity, and excellence.

Takes the edge off after experiencing the constant ineptitude of Stephen Ross and all who work under him. When will this buffoon realize he is a really bad owner and just sell the team already.

As for Gordon he was running behind a line ****tier than ours that was carting guys off the field every other series, cut him some slack. And I definitely wasn't calling anyone dumb for preferring another player in the 1st, please.

I suppose he has to write something. I don't think he gets to sit tight until March, so probably just posted a status, no status article. He can probably glide into Combine now.

Depressing but true. Our problem has been bad ownership ever since Joe Robbie died. We've had well meaning rich guys who know nothing about football hiring people they trusted who were not up to the job.

Outside of guys like Davis, Jones, and Snyder, you just described almost every owner. These guys are billionaires who buy teams to play w/as toys. They're not football guys. Robert Kraft has been more successful than any owner in the last two decades, but really, do you think he knows anything about the game? Nothing. Like Joe Robbie, he found the right coach and let him run the football operations entirely.
