That was always the plan, but in the meantime they had some opportunities to acquire expirings to help them this year, but their assets weren't appealing and they faced down the Kings in a negotiation for Casspi, which suggests to me that they intend to extend TJ.
We got a bunch of no's im sure. The one who said no the most is Ainge.. He is whoring his draft pick around and many dont see it with the amount if valuebhe thinks is worth
Sec thank you for all your reporting, information shared, and insight around the deadline. Certainly made it much more exciting waiting for the Sec bombs.
Uneventful but it all makes sense for FA. I'm a little bummed that we won't be able to see Dragic-Wade try to work things out in an offense that can somewhat space the floor to function properly this season. But long-term we did what we had to...aside from the McBob mess.
Eh.. Im all on the Steve Novak bandwagon.. only thing is he will likely prefer a contender... But any three point specialist ill take at this point.. Doesnt provide much defense but what ever, we arent a true threat this year but we HAVE to make the playoffs. It's a must, we cant let the sixers win a lottery pick from us.
Heat will pursue Joe Johnson, and Dwyane Wade will personally recruit him (they are friends) if he is bought out.
I don't think Novak's play-able at this point. The ONLY thing he can do is shoot...he's downright awful at everything else. Hate to say it, but unless McBob suddenly remembers how to play the game, I don't think we're making the playoffs if Bosh misses around 6 weeks. We couldn't score before...and now we'll be without our best, most versatile offensive player who was the common denominator in our best lineups. Not to mention the stellar defense. Hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling things are going to get ugly. The East has more depth this year as well. Need Dragic to play like he's in Phoenix again. This year's first-rounder is top-10 protected, right? It's unlikely we end up there given the talent we still have (Wade, Dragic, Hassan), but it's not totally out of the realm of possibility. I mean, it happened last year... For me the things to watch from here on out are whether they can play better to Dragic's strengths, and then how Whiteside and Winslow continue to develop as they're likely to get more minutes. The remainder of the season is huge for Hassan, just to keep seeing what we have with him.
of course, Steve Novak was a Wade teammate at Marquette and Wade is also friends with him, so that is buyout target #2. But Joe Johnson is who you look at first in about 15 days.
when the Nets present him with a check and explain how he can double dip in salary, while playing for a better team and cashing playoff checks...I am sure he will reassess.
I always thought having a credential for a NBA game was worthless till that day I saw Rachel Nichols from behind.
Interesting Factlet: Kobe has a winning record vs. all but 3 teams; Spurs - .417, Heat - .469, Blazers - .484
heat Spurs and Lakers represented the Finals the past decade and a half all but one season which was last year. So that stat doesnt surprise me, it was always competitive.
Atlanta that was pathetic.. expected to get blown out playing an away game without our 3 best players.
I was only able to watch the 1st half, but I couldn't believe what I was watching. They were playing about as bad as a team can play and still beating the Hawks.
Most unlikely win of the season. Easily. That was insane. I don't even know how it happened. McBob and Deng were out of their minds. The pace was UP. Good we got that one with another game tomorrow against a solid Wiz team.
This play by Richardson last night, reminds me of Gary Payton... https://instagram.com/p/BB_ZTkaEMq8/
Slightly amusing that the first move Sean Marks does as GM is waive Andrea Bargnani... he is probably a member at realgm..
If y'all want, I'll post team highlights as they come in. Heat, Knicks, Rockets, Cavs, Wizards. Just let me know.
Its clear through five quarters that Dragic needs to handle the ball more.. We just play better when he does. When Wade and Bosh return they need to play more off the ball, not just wait their turn for iso.. Dragic looks like the guy that played for the Suns, in which he had plenty of players that played off the ball.
Was not finding a taker for McBob's contract the luckiest thing that's happened to them this year? When he's healthy, the ball moves so well.
There's a sniper in the building. Lucky for us Udrih spun out of the way. RIP Wizards player. Rook with the D! Ramon Sessions clearly shouldn't have done whatever it is he did. With sufficient offensive development, could you imagine a Winslow-Richardson backcourt?
Yeah this is fun. And eye-opening. We have a serious schedule advantage, obviously, but still. Go Dragon. Not sure how McBon has just suddenly flipped the switch, unless he was hurt since October. Cool to see JRich making some splash plays on D. Good stuff. Whiteside is an animal.
I'm pretty surprised with how well this is going, lol, not gonna lie. Deng and Dragic are different guys...or should I say, like their old selves. The Deng-Winslow forward thing is working beautifully, running the floor, pushing it themselves off a dreb, especially with Justise rebounding his butt off lately. McBob just makes stuff happen. Would love to see TJ running around with this new pace.
