That's a hell of a list, Mainge. Thanks for that. Sanchez and Morrison play the same position, correct? I wonder if we'd move someone just for the sake of getting them both onto the team. Also, only having one pitcher prospect scares me.
That is a really tough question and likely will depend on if we can stay in contention in August. If it was September right now, It'd likely be guys who can contribute right away. Guys like Tankersley, Kensing, Andino. And maybe some of our more advanced hitting prospects like Raynor, Gaby, Coghlan and Maybin.
This is just a random list, not ordered in any way. We have a few guys like Jacob Marceaux and Ryan Tucker, who were both '05 first rounders, who were moved to the bullpen and have really found their grove. And Aaron Thompson (another '05 first rounder) has put up great numbers and around 3.50 ERA's the last few years before hitting a bit of a wall this year. Many scouts think Rick Vandenhurk has the raw stuff to be a #2 or #3 rotation man. Then lower level guys like Kyle Winters, Kyle Kaminska, Brad Hand, and Alejandro Sanabia have been putting it together recently.
He's shown flashes, but I think more so because he's only been pitching for five years and he's got good raw stuff.
I don't know, I don't see it. He IS raw, but I don't think he's a part of this team's future. I'd put money on Tankersley sticking around longer than Vanden Hurk.
whata joke this ball park is......howard hits a hr 350 feet.....but it goes up 10 rows.... that's like golfers puting into a manhole....... bases loaded.....comon hermida....prove me wrong kid!!!!
can we cut gonzo and make him a asst coach? he's terrible this year....... bring up a kid to get some playing time.....its getting old.....
game time in 2 hours....cant watch it at work but ill be getting updates.....need a gem from volstad.....and we gotta get some extra base hits.....and take this damn series!!!!
yes! what a win! if it wasnt for that BS called homer in game 1.....we would have shut out the philthies twice in 3 games! Awesome pitching by volstad today!!!
We let you guys back in the race a little, but the Phillies will get it together. Everytime Cole Hamels pitches, we get ZERO runs for him. The Mets should have lost today....another great outting by Santana, but the bullpen almost blew it. Wright had a nice walkoff. I think it will be a three way race until September.
Except for when we (the Braves) pounded him like a red-headed step child a couple weeks back but still lost. Unfortunately Mike Hampton was pitching for us...

It happens in spurts. I don't know what causes it--maybe the preseason game last night? Mainge, are you watching the Mutts game? How are our guys doing?
8-2 fish......jj has gone 7 strong innings......jake is on fire still 2-3 double and a bomb 2 runs scored.....uggla has 3 rbis on 2 doubles.....all around great game
So with today's win, we're 2 GB from the division lead, and 4.5 GB from the Wild Card. I kind of wish we had signed Manny just to make a push at this thing. It feels like we've been in this position forever.
