I think lb is our biggest need! Followed by a dominant safety! Our defense sucks! Fix the oline in free agency!

WADR, NEVER, in a million years.....Ramsey is a much better overall player that can play Corner and FS very well. Besides, we would draft Ramsey to play FS to tandem with Reshad Jones....my God, can you just imagine? Instantly the best safety tandem in the league....BAR NONE !!!!

Agreed. Even with a fixed Oline if our D can't stop the run, 3rd down conversions and can be scored upon at will, we will finish 6-10 again next year.

How about just a good O... and a D that isn't way below average.

It's hard to build a great offense or a great defense in the NFL, regardless of who we draft we will have a long way to go to make that unit great.

Well the offense was a tad worse then our defense I still feel like an impact player on the defensive side of the ball makes the most sense.

Perhaps I used the wrong word, building a better offense would make us a better team, and be able to better evaluate/help the most important player on the team.

But he hasn't been....his play rarely correlates with what happens in regards to W's and L's.

Well, obviously you're preaching to the choir, as I'm not a believer in Tanne ascending much more than what he is, but he has been saddled with a poor line, perhaps bad coaching, and his big $ numbers are coming up, but QB is the most important position on the team.

    It fills 2 needs;
    1) Getting a no holds barred read on Tanne, his progress from a rookie has been substantial, so he may be one of the guys that does get it after a while, a la A. Smith, but even if he is a Smith, I don't think Smith is worth 20 mil per, unless you have the right team, and even then I think 20 would be too much for Smith.

    2) Whoever is playing QB, especially if it's a younger guy, it would be much better to have a stable, quality O for him to operate within, a quality ball control O can mitigate a bad D to a certain extent, just as a stalwart, stingy D can mitigate a bad O to a degree.

I think we can fairly easily fix the O, really just getting a couple decent Gs and a swing T would do that, as well as keeping Miller and Matthews, but the D is further away imo, it's like the entire D needs to be upgraded, from DL straight through to the secondary, besides a few players.

This is why I would focus on the O, fixing one side of the ball would be a huge upgrade to what has been going on imo, it would give us answers, and the ability to develop others if that's the case, and at least have some solidarity on one side of the ball, because I think the D is a year or 2 away.

Still think the 1st pick should be D though.

    Here and there
I believe building a better offense that can convert 3rd downs control the ball and score more points will make the defense better, just by the defense being on the field less and the offense holding TOP and I don't think its as big of a fix as the defense is. That being said I believe we need to balance FA and the draft, improve the guard play alone will make the offense better plus Parker on the field more. The defense requires more attention in my opinion with the need for at least two linebackers and corners and a safety. If Gase is as advertised better coaching will also improve the offense.

Between free agency and the draft, we should be able to upgrade our positions of need pretty easily.

Vernon is the keyword for the Dolphins...Olivier and Hargreaves. I say tag and trade OV and we'll see how fast Hargreaves is tomorrow. Wake is the key and I don't have any idea where he's at. Usually it's an easy decision to let Wake go and sign the much younger OV just based on Jason Taylor's theory of cartilage depletion.

We can and should fix this offensive line between FA and the draft. In fact, we could land Albert's replacement and let him play guard until the inevitable happens, and that's as late as the second round. This class begs us to collect a slew of additional 2nd and 3rd round picks.

If Ramsey is still there when it's our turn, I say you pick him. He's gonna be a good one.

Maybe it's me I watched some videos of the kid and he seems decent but not overall dominant. Seems to give up on the play pretty quickly. one or two blocks and stops. When hes got pressure on him ive seen people get by him though his QB had already gotten rid of the ball.

Just not sold on him at #8. True we need help and he could be a good swing player for us, but facing the dominant defneses in the AFC we play I feel veterans offer a better solution today. I just feel we have more pressing needs at safety / CB....
