Yeah, I thought about that, and teams would definitely be more stacked than realistic. It could still be fun, though.
IIRC we needed 13 more so that would just be about 6 people taking on 2 teams. A couple of teams even were planning co-gms so maybe they would split up. Maybe that would leave about 3 or 4 having to take 2.
If that's what we decide, I'm good with that, but having GMs with 2 teams opens up a lot of potential issues and new rules. Like obviously you wouldn't be able to trade with yourself, but could you trade with someone, and then as your second team trade that team for the player you traded away? I feel like there will be lots of details like this that would have to be worked out.
I mean, just about every year there's some kind of an issue (if not multiple issues) where people try and take advantage of the system. But if that's what everyone wants, we can do that.
The smack talk for such a offense would almost be unbearable around here. We want to play so bad (most of us new) that the biggest problem may be innocent mistakes. I doubt it will be as ruthless as most years and leagues... or I hope. All for fun.
I don't think I'll be doing this. It just doesn't look like it will happen. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
ya this is really discouraging for me that we couldn't get a big enough turnout this year. I really think I would only participate in the actual GML and not a fantasy draft.
I'm not sure if we're still doing it at this point but in whatever way I can help, I will. I'm really eager to do it here.
I think NYG and I are going to take a stab at running this together this year. We would like to get it started ASAP. If we can get a MOD to open up a new subforum then we can get started. I'm going to work on a schedule this weekend and will post it once the 2016 subforum is up. Once up we will also post the Dolphins lottery and draft order. Some things we have discussed implementing this year: 1. The winner of the Dolphins lottery will select first, followed by a randomized order of everyone who wasn't involved in the lottery. The losers of the lottery will select afterwards in a randomized order. After everyone has a team, it will be first come first serve for those who would like to manage a 2nd team. If you are managing 2 teams, you may not trade amongst yourself. 2. We are going to do cut dead money like last year. There will be no dead money if a player is traded however. 3. Free Agency will be done in a 3 tier system. This is working well in another league. It alleviates some of the pressure on the updaters and helps spread out Free Agency. Each team will nominate one player in each tier and we will go about with the normal Free Agent bidding process. Thr first 2 tiers will each have 32 players to bid on and the 3rd tier will have all the remaining players that weren't nominated in the prior tiers. More information to come on this We are open to hearing any other suggestions. Since we are getting a late start this year, the timeline will have to be condensed some, but this should take us right up to the real NFL draft with little down time.
After working on the schedule this weekend it just doesn't seem feasible. We'd have to do the whole league, including handing out teams, in a month before the draft needs to start. We don't even know how many GMs we have anymore. NYG and I discussed trying to hold a real rookie draft in here instead. Similar to how the main boards has done in the past if we are able to get enough interest. Take over a real team and do the full 7 round draft.
I'd be in for that. I bet you would have a much easier time finding people to join, too. We could probably get 32 easily. If not, it would be much more manageable to take on multiple teams if it were just for the draft. I know I'd be willing to do that.
