Don't want to assume anything about how we finish the year from here but Spo may deserve some Coach of the Year consideration for the post-All Star break changes made under extreme duress (missing Bosh for blood clots again). He also gets some credit for Whiteside's turnaround because you've got a narrative out there that it was due to a sit-down between Hassan and Spo. Not to mention incorporating Joe Johnson so seamlessly.
You got a shot Whiteside back on the court. If they foul him it'll be two shots for your 16 point count.
Its a damn shame Harden has to do everything offensively. Averaging 37 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists the last 8 games.
His defense on the other hand...
Tried to think of one..and couldn't. The very best FT shooters in history had or have VERY elaborate routines at the line: Nash, Curry, Billups, Barry, etc...
Houston will never win another title until/unless Harden changes or they ditch him. No team can expect to be champion with a defensive weak link like that. Competition is too tough.
He is not the problem. Leading the league in minutes played (again!) Leading league in total points (again!) Top 10 in assists (again!) Top 20 in steals (again!) Top 10 in win shares (again!) Top 10 in box plus minus (again!) Top 8 in PER (again!) Top 3 in usage (again!) I could go on and on.... He ain't the problem.
While Whiteside's routine is not in any way elaborate, I would say that his routine shares a common trait with those other elaborate routines in that it's very unique to him. But what is so scary and wonderful about it in my eyes is that he's basically replicating (perhaps at 3/4th speed) game conditions on making a jump shot. Which means he's that good a natural shooter. If he keeps going that way he's going to have a Chris Bosh jump shooting game.
If there's one thing to learn from the Heat example it's that defense is culture driven. Somehow Miami takes guys that are known for bad defense and they make them pretty good and extremely active defenders.
If he was to leave and was worried about the PR aspect of it, Miami would be better than anywhere else. He still only had 2 teams on his resume. Im sure he could get some nerd to write another essay to manipulate people.
Is anybody else feeling nostalgia from our 2004-2006 teams right now? 2010-2014 was incredible, but theres something different about this squad that just makes it so damn enjoyable to watch. Maybe its because were not favored in every game, or maybe because its not just lebron but now its about the heat. Maybe its the knob creek, but im not scared of any team, east or west, and i couldnt even say that with bron bron here.
Getting pretty jazzed for the last stretch and postseason. Got the coach, the closer (2 of em with Bosh!), the vet experience, some defensive stoppers. Hence...
Thornton signed with the Wiz unfortunately, but Gary Neal is available if we want another spot up shooter for cheap. Or we can wait for T.J. to come back from injury. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Is this a real thing or is this just a joke tweet, someone pulling a prank on Omar?
Evidently it's a real Omar Kelly tweet that Omar quickly deleted. Leave to Omar ****ing Kelly to let something escape that is pretty much blatant tampering and could get the Heat a stern talking to. Pat Riley: "You don't know this, Omar, but you've been living in MY ******* town for your entire life. You breathe air, because I say so. You sh!t, because I let you eat food. And if you ever screw up like this again, one of those three isn't going to happen anymore, and I'll let you choose which."
The real question is, who in the Heat organization, or interested third party, would ever talk to Omar Kelly?
Irrelevant. They could be just making up since things ended in bad terms between them. Me personally ive forgiven Lebron already i just dont want him to have any other rings than a Heat ring. And besides, Lebron met Gilbert years ago as a member of the Heat and talked about going back to Cleveland. And there was no tampering charge there.
Man, with Bosh back Cleveland better be nervous. With all hands on deck I think this team is very capable of taking the East.
Oh, so this Bosh thing is not publicly known? Good thing I didn't publicly celebrate on twitter. Can I say? Can I can I can I?
