Report: Byron Maxwell shoulder issue may scuttle trade

The Dolphins and Eagles agreed to a trade earlier this week that would send cornerback Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso to Miami pending physicals and a reworked contract for Maxwell.

The trade can’t become official until 4 p.m. ET and it might not become official at all. Ed Werder and Chris Mortensen of ESPN report that the Dolphins have a concern about Maxwell’s shoulder and that the trade may be scrapped as a result.

Maybe Philly will take a lower round pick for us to take him.

We have them by the balls now.Depending how bad the shoulder is how about a 7th round pick to take him off your books.

How about we let them release him. Didnt like this trade either Im so tired of getting broken players counting on them for 16 games and having excuses why we have no depth 4 games in.

If we do not do this trade then we are left with filling more holes. I was not a fan of Maxwell but I still would like to take Kiko It makes it harder after getting rid of Grimes unless they already have some one lined up.

Why should they trade anything for an overpriced player with a bad shoulder? Perhaps the Eagles should be giving the Dolphins a draft pick along with Alonso and Maxwell, because the Dolphins would be willing to take theses two injured players and their salaries off the Eagles cap space.

Hopefully this trade will fall through. Because the Dolphins don't need to add an overrated and overpaid CB and an often injured LB to their roster if it is going to cost them even a 7th round draft pick for these two players.
Any draft pick or even an exchange of first round picks is too high a price to pay considering their injuries and their subpar play last season.

As far as I know, they haven't cut Grimes yet. I prefer Grimes over Maxwell, even with his crazy wife.

Kiko hasn't been effective for three years and he can't stay on the field. The Eagles will probably cut him if they can't work out a trade for him and then the Dolphins can try to sign him without giving up anything.

here is what scares me. According to sources Maxwell said he could not do a push up, and somehow doctors are ok with that?

Im not sure of your sources, but if he could not do a push up he obviously would not pass a physical.
