Guard in the first round anyone?
Didn't you see, we restructured Cameron down to 6M a season so he can stay back in pass protection instead of ponying up for a legit lineman. Same old stale **** they try and sell us every year.
In a perfect world you find your guards in the 3rd-5th round. I bet most of these top fa guards weren't picked before the 3rd. Given mia track record of drafting linemen it may be safer to spend big on interior, which we have already done on Pouncey.
and Suh, and Williams, and and and and go look at the roster again - 110m tied up in the top 12 same **** different day Tanenblow most go or we become the Jets damn that would ruffle some feathers
A veteran guard was top priority in my mind but I guess our front office figures whatever guys are left when the dust settles will be enough. Or we will have to spend another 1st rounder on the Oline. Superbowl.
Yeeeeaaaah, I'm going to say the same thing I said when people suggested we should go after a QB in the second round during the year we drafted Tannehill - been there, done that, we need to shake it up.
It's going to inspire some Dolphin fan to write a children's book: The Loneliest Guard One Guard, Two Guard, Asgaard, No Guard.... (gave it a sci fi fantasy spin hoping Hulkfish would run with it) Fat ***** in the Hat... (more of a Miko Grimes cautionary tale)
Ramirez who payed for Gase is out there, so is Beadles who played for Gase. Still lots of guards, we just haven't wasted 8mil/yr on them yet. We could probably get both for 8mil
OG isn't supposed to be hard to find. Every team, except us, finds a starting caliber OG in rounds 3-5 pretty much every ****ing year. We shouldn't have to pay big money for one. I understand the fear Philbins Era instilled when it came to this position, but we have to hope we can do better now
My problem - no faith in Tannenbaum and although Grier is an unknown quantity, the impression I get is that this is Tannenbaum's ship now.

It is rather amazing. Always thought guards were a dime a dozen, yet the Dolphins can't seem to get a good one at all.
Rome wasn't built in a day and you can't fix all of our holes in one offseason. I'm ok with not being the darlings off free agency for once. Let other teams overpay for players that wil "save" their franchise. I think we are using it wisely. Find quality starters, build through the draft, develop players and lock in irreplaceable players to long term contracts.
From Armando: "The question Miami Dolphins fans have been asking over and over is, "What about the guards?" Well, the Dolphins just signed veteran offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod to a one-year deal this evening. And the team sees him as a strong possibility as a starting guard as well as a backup tackle. Bushrod, 31, played only 12 games last season because he suffered a shoulder injury. The Dolphins believe he will be 100 percent and ready to compete by the start of training camp in July and perhaps sooner. That is not all. The Dolphins expect to address the guard position again in the draft if the chips fall in the proper order. And if they don't ... The club is putting both Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner, starters a year ago, on a significant weight training program this offseason in hopes both can improve as players. That's it. That's the answer. Bushrod is a fig leaf to angry fans wanting upgrade and new people. Perhaps he can regain the form he showed during his days in New Orleans and then again in Chicago. If not, the team will move forward toward other possibilities. "
