I think the plan with Bosh should be 20 minutes a game to start.. You dont wwnt to rush him back in and you also dont want to disrupt rhythm that we have going with Deng at the 4 doing well. Even at 20 mpg it helps us a lot.
Tonight's kind of a must-win, I reckon. CHI on night 2 of a back-to-back, then we play another road game tomorrow in TOR. Take care of business tonight. I think Jimmy Butler will be out. Waiting for a Bosh timetable...anxiously. We can contend if he's back.
Saw something alluded to on twitter, was there some sort of snafu about Bosh's PR firm making a statement and the Heat refusing questions about Bosh, something like that?
Bosh put out a statement that said he was trying to get back this season. Heat PR refused to comment.
Man i am loving me some of this Richardson kid. Great defensively and attacks the basket. Could be a 2nd round gem. Also Dragic has been a much more aggressive player without Bosh, he is really asserting himself and earning every bit of that contract...
Ok this is the first game I've got to watch since Bosh went down. Good God Dragic looks completely different
Michael Beasley getting it done. Someone besides Harden who can actually get their own shot off. Nice road win in Boston.
How about Deng? Got blocked by Gibson and then played angry. He overplayed in defense, jumped on several passes and got everyone else going. He inspired some Heat runs.
Wade out tonight. Will be interesting to see how Joe Johnson plays as well as how many minutes Green & Richardson get.
Wade is a Champion. Take that **** off of him. [edit] I do like the attention to detail. NFL logo on the Spalding ball.
So close last night. Would've been a huge win, but OT on the road against the 2-seed on a back-to-back without Wade...that performance was actually kind of encouraging, imo. Spo confused me a little though. I get that it was necessary to an extent, but man he ran Joe ragged last night. Offensively he was awesome. But the dude is 34 with the ball in his hands a ton, and you have him guard DeRozan down the stretch last night?? With Winslow also on the floor (guarding Lowry)? Seemed like DeMar was getting the looks he wanted from the 4th Q on. I don't get that. The only part of it I understand is that Spo knows Joe is going to have to handle those matchups with Wade healthy, as I'm guessing his crunchtime 5 will be Dragic-Wade-Joe-Deng-Whiteside. But man, we could've given Joe a blow and let the kid take the guy who was sizzling hot (honestly he was hitting everything anyway, maybe it wouldn't have mattered...not to mention the refs).
Had the pleasure of watching Richardson throughout his years at Tennessee. He worked hard to improve each year and was a leader on and off the court for two coaching staffs, really stepping up his final year to work his way into going from an UFA to getting selected by the Heat. Everyone here who followed him was not only glad to see him get drafted but be drafted by an organization where he could develop and succeed. He may not be a physical specimen but his work ethic and drive will give him a shot to stick. Heat fans should be proud to have him and I think he'll make you guys proud too. Hopefully he exceeds everyone's expectations.
Josh Richardson is a combo of Gary Payton lite and Gilbert Arenas lite.. he's going to be very solid for us in the future, if he develops well, could be succeeding Wade. I was at Dolphin Mall 2 hours ago, and there is security up the *** by the Heat store and thousands of people waiting outside. Hassan Whiteside sure has a huge fanbase..
Thought about it as well..because it really is that easy. Sick Winslow on DeRozan and END HIM. But Lowry is tough off the dribble, and Deng can;t guard him away from the basket. So you guard the dribble drive/versatile guy (Lowry) with Winslow and take your chances with the mid range king (DeRozan). he hit shots.
@stephenasmith: Watching @MiamiHEAT right, especially rookies Winslow & Richardson. I'm telling y'all, if Bosh returns...look the hell out! - sent via Tapatalk -
Man that was more interesting than it should've been. Biggest takeaway is that we do really need Bosh if we want to compete in a legit way (defensive lapses, offensive consistency). Pretty crazy that a Riley/Spo team is leaning on and getting this much out of rookies. We did real good with these two. JRich has been on fire! 3 and D baby. When that 2nd unit is cookin, turning defense into offense, man do they look awesome. Nice that CHA lost - Dallas cooled them off. Let's do the same on Thursday and make sure we get a home playoff series.
Man it's fun to watch Josh Richardson blossom like this. It's crazy how much room there still is for him to grow. He is still not as aggressive with the ball in his hands on offense as he could be, creating with penetration and then finding the open man or finishing at the rim, or creating a mid-range jump shot. Mostly because those things aren't his role yet...but there's also mental hesitation when he has those opportunities. He's been getting way better with that all year and when he finally smooths it out this kid could be an animal. Humble as ****, too.
Threes, since Joe Johnson joined the Heat: Josh Richardson - 17 of 27 (.630) Joe Johnson - 17 of 29 (.586) Justise Winslow - 3 of 7 (.429) Luol Deng - 13 of 34 (.382) Goran Dragic - 9 of 29 (.310) Gerald Green - 3 of 13 (.231) Dwyane Wade and Josh McRoberts have each taken one three pointer but I'm not counting them. Gerald Green clearly lost his mojo before Johnson arrived but otherwise there's been a global increase in three point efficiency. Whole team is shooting 44.0% from behind the arc over a 9 game stretch on 141 shots. I didn't think I'd see that from this team the way it was constructed. Not even over just a lucky 9 game stretch. Without Joe Johnson here that doesn't happen, IMO. He's facilitating things a lot, and from there Richardson has gone red hot.
Richardson is now 20 of his last 32 three points attempts (62.5%). That's just bizarre. It's just as weird and wonderfully tense as watching Hassan Whiteside suddenly morph into Steve Nash at the free throw line. wut
The biggest surprise of this season (and there have been plenty) has to be Josh Richardson, right? The level that he's playing at right now is unbelievable. It's pretty damn impressive how many times the Heat hit with their 2nd round draft picks (and UDFA's for that matter).
very common. Mike Miller used to hit 25 in a row sometimes and 90 out of 100. James Jones as well. As for Richardson...he leads the LEAGUE in 3 pt.% since the all-star break. Yes..the same league that Steph Curry plays in..yeah, that one.
Didn't catch tonight's game, the OT throwaway was disappointing. Ethan pointed out that at this point CB is more missed defensively than offensively, and I agree.
Some more color on this making 70 out of 100 thing. Spoelstra a hard *** for sure. http://heatzone.blog.palmbeachpost....chardsons-turning-point-as-a-3-point-shooter/
Beating on a dead horse here but...HEAT Culture. Many people over the years said it over and over again. People will roll their eyes and say its not uncommon. It's the little things tho, that's what makes Miami - MIAMI.
