But how many teams would go after him as their franchise quarterback and undisputed starter? RG3 and Kaepernick are getting interest but who is going to fork over a big contract for them? Those guys are getting interest as back ups and a chance to fight for a starting spot. Same with Weeden, Daniels, and Foles. How many teams would give him a contract like the Dolphins did and make him the undisputed franchise quarterback? Not many.

Denver.... Superbowl champs.... Mark butt fumble Sanchez .......... let that sink in

it's no secret that several teams would give their left nut for Tannehill.

Brock Osweiler, Chase Daniels, Robert Griffin, Brandon Weeden, Colin Kaepernick...

When these are the guys you're comparing Tannehill to, how can you try to spin that poaitively?

Because there are literally no other options at this point. They will probably draft a quarterback to groom into their franchise guy.

That actually proves my point. Tannehill is leaps and bounds ahead of them. If you think Denver(or anyone for that matter) wouldn't take Tannehill over Sanchez in a heartbeat, you're delusional.

Denver can't give any QB franchise money, they are strapped.

    If the could, they would.

If OV can get the money he got, Thill could get franchise money elsewhere.

well if Cleveland whiffs on the Kaepernick trade we'll see if they're willing to part with the 2nd pick in the draft for Tannehill....probably not.

they just settled for the worst starting qb in football, so of course they would love ryan..

its been quiet around here about ryan, he's got the coach now, just need to see a sense of urgency in his game, some real on field leadership, and a player that has the smarts to figure out how to convert if coverage is good.

I just want him to have a season where we don't constantly debated "Is it him?" "Is it the coaching?" "Is it the line?" etc. He's smart, he's tough, he's shown flashes. He may not be perfect either, but I'd like to see a season where he has an actual shot going in. I was very down on him last season, but I do understand why it's been tough sledding for him and the team. I'm just tired of the discussion. Get it done or move on. And I agree, if Tannehill was a FA, he'd have multiple teams knocking down the door to get him.

Do you understand that you came into the thread and made the first dickish, snarky, insulting post?

Maybe a little self evaluation is in order, or maybe you will just fly off the handle and say GD 400 times....either way it has been calm around here on this topic and the first chance you get?? You sure don't mind taking it.

Makes me wonder if you have pictures of mods with sheep to justify you being allowed to keep this garbage up and a guy like Shou was just "too antagonistic".

    Carry on though.

i still can't believe after this offseason people still want to run him out of miami, i almost wish it would happen so these people get what they deserve and get another 20 years of drizzling ****s at qb, we finally get a good qb and people don't want him..... unbelievable really.

Clearly I hit too close for home for you, since I didn't mention anyone by name. You, on the other hand, openly just attacked me specifically.

Then again, you were the guy that took the most offense to a title of a thread that contained no insults and called out literally no one, so I shouldn't be surprised by this. How are you and your delicate sensibilities nowadays?

You do understand that the comparison to these players wasn't about skill levels, but about contracts and teams actively pursuing players who most admit are worse than Tannehill.

so 1 NFL franchise might want him and that validates what some think about him maybe being good.

This brings us back to the importance of reading comprehension and how it precedes your assessment. I never doubted that it was a matter of convenience and only acknowledging data that supports one's claims... But this new development is......Yipes !

I am not a big Tannehill fan, but even I will admit that he is better than the free agent QB's on the list and better than probably 10-12 other starters in the NFL.

Yet all that makes him to me is an overpaid mid-tier QB on a bad team. I would have no problem if they traded him to one of the teams looking to draft Goff or Wentz. I think both of these QB's will end up being more successful in the NFL than Tannehill over the next decade.

Tannehill certainly isn't the main problem on this team. Unfortunately I just keep wondering if he is part of the long term solution. I can live with Tannehill for now, but if this team ever expects to win a SB, it will be with a QB who needs to be better than Tannehill, IMO.

Yeah yeah, we get it..Tannehill is better than the FA QBs on the market, or those that their teams are considering trading.
So what? The point being ignored is, franchise QBs don't GET to the FA market and don't GET traded unless they have some health issue that makes them not worth the contract.
I don't care that Tannehill is the smartest student on the short bus, I want a QB for our team that people look at and say, "Wow, they're lucky to have him." I want a Rodgers, a Brady, a Rothlisberger. I am not saying "get rid of Tannehill" because he's what we have until we find a real star QB and we should keep him. But I am also not prepared to say he's a superstar QB because he's not.

The Dolphins are no where close to having the defense the Broncos have. I also think that while Manning was terrible early in the season, he played well enough in the playoffs to prevent his team from losing.

I don't think that Tannehill has the ability to lead his team to one win in the playoffs, much less a SB victory.

He he is what he is. A mediocre QB on a mediocre team. Right now with this team, that is enough because they will be a mediocre or bad team for at least 2 more years. By the time they are ready to be a legitimate contender, I have no doubt Gase will have his own QB directing the team.

Heh. Wallace is on his what, 4th team in 5 years now? And Tannehill ranked 9th in the deep ball last season. There goes that argument.

Yeah, Manning definitely did enough in the Super Bowl to earn a win.

Tannehill is never able to "do enough" because of the failure of other pieces of the team. I've said it before, Tannehill has to play every game at an elite level for us to even have a shot at winning (slight exaggeration, I know, but it's not far off).
