At this point I don't see how we don't go corner in the 1st...we have absolutely nothing opposite Maxwell for one, secondly Maxwell himself might not even be in the team's long term plans...just took a quick look at his contract on overthecap, cutting him next year clears $7 million, trading him clears $10M with Zero dead money...wouldn't get much for him of course but it would be a great salary dump so Miami might just take whatever they can get.
opinions are everywhere with the pundits....with the blue chips off the table I say its a good year to trade down and see if this tannebaum/grier team has any talent.
this was actually the year to trade up...we just made that task more difficult by moving down without aquiring any picks ...I guess we'll have two 3rds next year with the comp pick from losing OV so we can still try to move up in this draft...maybe offer a 3rd this year and a 3rd next year, I'd do that.
Eh trade ups rarely seem to work or recoup the value. I liked where we were - good spot to snag a falling prospect like a Buckner or Bosa. Where we are now is between two worlds though. Agree with DJ, this is a year to explore going downward - you can still get Alexander, Apple or Jackson later. If we stand pat, we need to see if we can identify a Sheldon Richardson/Aaron Donald from this draft. Both of those guys went at 13 recently. There is talent to be had, just need to find it.
Just wait to see this board explode if someone really exceptional falls to number #8 and is grabbed up before #13.
Las Vegas isn't impressed with the Dolphins offseason so far. The odds of the Dolphins winning the SB dropped from 50-1 to 66-1 since free agency started. The only two teams with higher odds are the Titans and Browns. The Dolphins need to have the best draft they have had in decades. They need three or four immediate quality starters from this years draft or they could end the 2016 season with their worst record since 2007. This just isn't a team with much talent on the roster and they lost several of the younger and better players in free agency. I think Gase may be a big upgrade at head coach. I just don't know if he will get a chance to prove it with the players the front office is providing him with. They always say you have to hit rock bottom before you can recognize the need to change for the better. It won't surprise me if the 2016 season doesn't turn out to be the Dolphins rock bottom. Hopefully if it is, Ross will realize Tannebaum isn't the right man for the job and he will finally hire a real football czar who actually knows how to build a successful NFL team.
We already had holes to fill and due to our player losses we created even more holes to fill. True, we signed some players but we only added more question marks, not solutions.
Charlie Campbell reported that Ramsay and Tunsil are in the running for first overall to the Titans, with Ramsay having a considerable lead. Myles Jack, I have a feeling, will be a top-5 pick.
