Somehow I feel Campbells words were distorted somewhat .If Ayaji out played Miller it must have been in practices because there is not much game film on Ayaji to look at to arrive at that conclusion.

BTW I found a scouting report on Ayaji which points out his main weakness.....blocking .But otherwise he gets a glowing report

Well, isn't it kind of the job of the HC to make those decisions, and if so why wasn't Ajayi playing more?

    I'm calling shenanigans on this.

Ajayi talent is the main reason why I think he can replace Lamar production here.

IMO Ajayi was a far superior runner and receiver as a rookie. I thought Miller improved substantially during his time here, however, I do believe Ajayi has greater upside. At this point Miller was a far superior blocker (I don't really recall his blocking as a rookie). I see Miller as the better all-around back at this point. I don't think either guy is all that bright, but Miller has experience. My big fear with Ajayi is durability.

Miller was a poor blocker as a rookie too but he got better at it as he gained more experience .That was one of the reasons Moreno got most of the carries during Millers 2nd season until he got hurt.

I think Ayaji will get better at it too.

My goodness we dodged a bullet when the powers that be decided not to hire Campbell for the permanent job.

I was turned off from Campbell when he lost against the Jets and Bills again, as unfair as that may be.

I hate to say it, but nothing Campbell said matched up with what he did.

I wish there wasn't a concern with his knee though. I think the kid can be a really good back for us, but that knee has me concerned everytime I saw him take a hit this year in his limited action.

Campbell was the anti-Philbin and was perfect for that short burst to help beat an awful Titans team and a Texans team that was in a slump. Too many enormous errors in game management to merit true consideration, IMO. He will always hold a special place in Twitterverse though for that meme of him riding the Great White Shark. I'm glad Miami hired Gase though. Really glad.

Well, to me they are looking for a Vet back just to block well and pick up some touches, thus kicking the tires on Foster

Would have loved to have seen if Campbell would have stood as pat about the offensive line. And the problem with the rah rah coach is that does wear thin, they need excellent staffing and GM work to make it work as it does in Baltimore and Pitt.

The word on Miller, way I understood it, was low football IQ but great physical talent, took him a long time to reach the level he reached in Miami. Not 100% I believe that b/c the NFL's nature is more like accountants then leaders of men who overlook things

I remember some talk that Campbell preferred Ajayi's more physical style and that Ajayi picked more yards after contact.

    This was PFF's take: https://www.profootballfocus.com/bl...free-agents-olivier-vernon-lamar-miller-walk/

Ajayi got a slow start due to the rib injury, but looks the part. I don't think we need to invest in a RB early. There are plenty of mid round backs that could compliment him. Prosise, Marshall, Jhurrell Pressley, etc...

Very weird. Shocked he fell so far. Also, he's only 22 right now. If we get 4 or 5 years out of him, he will have had as many years as most backs regardless of round. Really excited about him this season. He has great hands out of the backfield as well. Needs to work on his pass protection still.

Knowshon was ripping fools in Denver than nobody wanted to sign him. His first game here he rips the Patriots, and now he's out of football. It's a legit concern.

Miller was drafted in 2012. Moreno didn't sign with the Dolphins until 2014. So I really don't understand how Moreno got most of the carries for the Dolphins during Millers rookie season. In fact Reggie Bush was the starting RB during the 2012 season.

Even when Moreno did sign with the Dolphins in 2014 season, he was hurt early in the season and had less than 40 carries for the entire season. Miller was the Dolphins starter and the teams leading rusher during the 2014 season.

My opinion is that Miller is a better NFL RB than Ayaji and he will prove to be a huge loss for the Dolphins over the next few seasons.

I'll give you one thing. You are consistent with your convictions. You've been ripping Miller since you argued Daniel Thomas was the better back. :D

I caught that but assumed he meant Bush.
