Good choice. Mac is the way to go

    Especially compared to Vista.

Hah, yeah. I think I would prefer an etch a sketch and Abacus to Vista. :hi5:

    Random thoughts...

Have you tried using a spare keyboard? The thinking being that you have a CTRL or ALT key stuck pushed down.

Opened yourbox and checked to ensure all the internal cables are tight? Shouldn't be an issue here, but it never hurts to check.

Checked the Firefox site to ensure you have the latest version and that there aren't any known issues in the version you have? Sometimes the latest and greatest, ...isn't.

Since I went to SP3, my machine blue screens on shutdown every time due to some sort of video driver problem. Haven't heard of a "sticky keys" issue though.

You said you've already tried this:
    http://techpaul.wordpress.com/2007/10/24/keyboard-troubleshooting-is-sticky-keys-on/
    So that's no help...

Apparently there is a "sticky keys back door" (who knew?--jokes later).

EDIT: one last thing. What kind of mouse do you have? The reason I ask is that I bought my wife a nice wireless keybaord and mouse combo and there was one of those side buttons on the mouse that actived some goofy feature and caused headaches until we realized which mouse button it was and pushed it again. Check the documentation on your mouse for any "specialized" functionality.

Ok guys, first off, thanks for the advice. Ok, I downloaded SP3 and once it installed and all, the problem still persisted. But after about an hour, after I had been using the onscreen keyboard to shut off the shortcuts, suddenly it went away and hasnt been back since last night. Even when I press the "x" or "z" keys which seemed to set it off, it hasnt come back. I dont know what I did, but so far so good. So until it comes back, lets just hope all remains well.
