With the 1st selection of the 2016 NFL Draft the Tennessee Titans select...
    Jalen Ramsey DB Florida State

When you get the #1 overall pick you have to select the best player available. Ramsey will be playing a hybrid role for the Titans.

    Browns select QB Carson Wentz....

Perfect QB to perform in the Cleveland climate, he will be a franchise QB and the Browns FINALLY now has that.

With the 3rd pick of the first round the Chargers will take- OT Laremy Tunsil (Ole Miss)

All the makings of a solid tackle for many years to come if major injury is avoided. Protect Rivers for the next/last couple of years and be a rock for the QB of the future. Move some guys around on our line and maybe we can have a decent OL for the first time in a long while. Hopefully.

With the 4th pick of the first round the Cowboys will take- LB Myles Jack (UCLA)

Possible superstar both defending the pass and rushing the passer. Unique skills and speed hopefully not impacted by the knee injury. Cowboys were looking to snatch Wentz as the QB of the future... instead getting a player to haunt those upcoming QBs.
Lee is older now and always injury prone, McClain is just a stop-gap. Needed some Jack all over the field.

With the 5th pick the Jaguars take DE Joey Bosa, The Ohio State Univeristy.

Jaguars need an infusion of talent on defense and would welcome a Bosa/Fowler pairing. Ideally Myles Jack would fall to them here, but they really can't go wrong with a defensive prospect at this spot.

With the 10th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame

My highest rated player at LT, Stanley eviscerated some of the best DE's in college football last year. The New York Football Giants need to protect the blindside of an aging Eli Manning. There were numerous considerations for the pick but Stanley is the 3rd rated player on my board after Jack and Ramsey.

With the 11th pick in the 2016 NFL Mock Draft, the Chicago Bears select:

    Mackensie Alexander
    School: Clemson | Position: CB | Experience: RS Sophmore | Height: 5'10" | Weight: 190 lbs | Arm Length: 31 3/8" | Hand Size: 9 1/8"
    40 YD: 4.47 (Pro Day) | Bench: N/A | Broad: 121" (Pro Day) | 3-Cone: 7.18 (Pro Day) | Shuttle: 4.21 (Pro Day)
    Positives:

    • [*=left]Good technical skills, smooth back pedal and stays low throughout his transition
[*=left]Requisite speed and acceleration to stick with receivers
[*=left]Looks comfortable in both man and zone coverage but used mostly in both press and off man
[*=left]Puts himself in good position to defend and forces the QB to throw the ball into contested space downfield
[*=left]Almost always in position to contest the pass
[*=left]Well respected as a RS Soph, rarely targeted by opposing QBs
[*=left]Confident almost to the point of arrogant (a good thing). Has short term memory required of good CBs
[*=left]Will read QBs eyes who lock on to their targets, make plays on the ball, will come off his receiver to attack

    Negatives:

    • [*=left]Shows some stiffness when changing direction, can be beaten by quicker receivers or when QBs/WRs adlib
[*=left]Aggressive to a fault, burned by QBs who use their eyes to manipulate defenses, charges downhill during play action fakes and will be left out of position.
[*=left]Gets too grabby and will be flagged more often at the NFL level
[*=left]Willing tackler but takes very bad angles. Drops his head and more often than not launches himself at legs rather than wrapping up
[*=left]Limited strength and will be taken out of plays by WR blocks
[*=left]Will gamble on plays, best when he has Safety help over the top
[*=left]Size is an issue against bigger and faster receivers in the NFL; can he survive on the outside
[*=left]Tested in very limited cases but still did not have a single interception

Pro Comparison: Janoris Jenkins, CB, NYG (formerly STL)

    Overview:

With a chance to upgrade the CB spot across from Kyle Fuller, where Tracy Porter is currently projected to start, the Bears believe Alexander should be able to come in right away and lock down teams no. 2 WRs. In a division that features Aaron Rodgers, Teddy Bridewater, and Matt Stafford, some Corner help will be greatly appreciated. Going forward, Chicago has a young secondary to build around with Fuller, Alexander, Bryce Callahan at Nickel, and Adrian Amos at FS.

With the 13th pick, The Miami Dolphins select...

    Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State

This was tough because none of the three guys I wanted are here. It really came down to two players, both from the same school, who I have ranked similarly. Ultimately I think the need at CB is too strong for Miami to hope one of those next tier guys will be there in round 2. With Apple, you are banking on the hope that he can use his physical gifts to become a good starting CB. I think he also fits with the scheme Miami will most likely use with Vance Joseph.

    LaQuan Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss!

Wasn't planning to address WR this early in the draft, but LaQuan is too much of a value proposition to pass up. Even with the addition of Marvin Jones, WR was still a bit of a need for this team, and Treadwell will do more to fill the void left behind by the recently retired Calvin Johnson.

After the deadline, the Rams have been given Reggie Ragland, ILB, that school down South.

Rams texted me while I was in flight that they wanted WR Josh Doctson from TCU. Since no one has picked since I'm going to change it from Ragland to Doctson

Since there is not currently a Colts GM we will select BPA, this time going with Reggie Ragland. If we can't find someone for the second round, I will take over from there on out.

With the 19th pick, the Buffalo Bills select...

    Robert Nkemdiche, DL, Ole Miss!!

After parting ways with Mario Williams, the Bills are looking to further solidify their DL and add a pass rusher to their defense. Although Nkemdiche comes with plenty of questions, this is definitely the type of player that Rex Ryan loves and will see to the development of.

With the 21st pick in the 2016 NFL Mock Draft, the Washington Redskins select:

    Darron Lee
    School: Ohio State | Position: ILB | Experience: RS Sophmore | Height: 6'1" | Weight: 232 lbs | Arm Length: 33 1/4" | Hand Size: 9 3/4"
    40 YD: 4.47 | Bench: 17 reps | Broad: 133" | 3-Cone: 7.12 | Shuttle: 4.20
    Positives:

    • [*=left]As athletic as any LB in the draft class. Special athleticism to move sideline to sideline effortlessly.
[*=left]Excellent COD ability, possesses good body control to go along with good speed.
[*=left]Effective in pass coverage. Shows the ability to cover TEs, RBs, even some Receivers, in man coverage.
[*=left]Great blitzer and should be effective at the next level. 11 sacks from 2014-2015.
[*=left]Shows excellent pursuit abilities, takes fastest angle to the ball.

    Negatives:

    • Lacks sand in his pants, can get washed out of plays when Lineman get their hands on him. Does not consistently stack and shed.
    • Looks to run around lineman rather than attack them head on and attempt to disengage.
    • Does not always tackle with his head up, can come in out of control and whiff. Involved in shoe-string or diving efforts too often.

    Pro Comparison: Lavonte David, Buccaneers

    Overview:

The Redskins are in desperate need to upgrade an Inside Linebacker position that has been in flux since London Fletcher retired. Although Darron Lee is more of a WILL than an inside 'backer in a 3-4, he will be a welcome addition for his ability to cover opponents' receivers near the line of scrimmage and his aggressive in blitizing and run support. He still needs to add strength to make him a complete player but he will definitely start year one and make a noticeable improvement for a youthful Washington defense.

With the 24th Pick in the 2016 GM League Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select:

    Leonard Floyd

    School: Georgia | Position: SAM | Experience: Junior | Height: 6-6 | Weight: 244 | Arm Length: 33 1/8” | Hand Size: 10 1/8”
    40 YD: 4.60 | Bench: N/A | Vertical: 39.5” | Broad: 127” | 3-Cone: 7.18 | Shuttle: 4.32

    Overview:
It's tough not to think of former Georgia star linebacker Boss Bailey when watching Floyd, a long, lean pass rusher. An all-state pick in his Georgia high school days, Floyd played a year at Hargrave Military Academy before heading to Athens (as many Georgia recruits do). He started eight of 13 games played in 2013, receiving All-Freshman SEC notice after making 9.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. Floyd was awarded the Bulldogs' Defensive MVP in 2014 (though he missed the team's bowl game having knee surgery) to go along with honorable mention all-conference honors from league media (8.5 tackles for loss, six sacks). In his final year between the hedges, Floyd led the Bulldogs in sacks for the third straight year (4.5) and tied for the team lead with 10.5 tackles for loss, garnering second-team All-SEC notice from league coaches. The 2015 Butkus Award finalist is no joke off the edge, as many college tackles would confirm.

    Strengths:

    • Unique combination of length and athleticism.
    • Extremely rangy with great chase speed from sideline to sideline.
    • Good change of direction for taller player.
    • Long limbs and twitch to spring into a tackle from a mile away.
    • If unblocked, will chase down line of scrimmage from backside and foil run plans.
    • Elusive in open space dodging blockers and sifting through traffic in pursuit of the ball.
    • Has the traits to be highly effective in man coverage.
    • As an edge rusher, able to shoot out of the starting blocks and cover substantial ground with long second and third strides.
    • Not a great bender, but has ankle flexion necessary to lean at 45-degree angle and buzz inside the rush arc.
    • Substantial pass rush potential with a variety of options to the quarterback.
    • Pet move is upfield burst followed by jump-cut inside tied with inside club.
    • Able to dip and rip around the corner.
    • Dangerous on T/E twists and blitzes underneath.
    • Able to worm his way through the A-gap as standup blitzer.
    • Compares to Eli Harold

    Weaknesses:

    • All thin everything. Gangly frame produces marginal play strength. Built like a wide receiver and needs to live in a team cafeteria and weight room.
    • Not an edge-setter.
    • Gets long arms into defender effectively, but struggles to gain extension.
    • Loses fight for neutral zone at point of attack.
    • Issues shedding blocks forces him into downfield tackler rather than backfield playmaker.
    • Drag-down tackler with little pop behind pads as a hitter.
    • Must work to keep pad level lower on inside rush move.

    GM Says:

    Bottom Line:
While sporting a relatively lanky frame, Floyd shows surprising power in his hands and complements it with burst off the edge, agility to avoid blockers and a relentless motor. With an injury-free 2015 season and the expected growth after another offseason in the weight room, Floyd looks like a solid bet to once again rank among the SEC's elite edge rushers and establish himself as a highly regarded NFL prospect.

With the 27th pick in the 2016 NFL draft the Green Bay Packers select,

6'3, 314 lb Nose Tackle, Kenny Clark, UCLA

There are a number of DTs on the board and with Raji taking a year off as well as getting up in age, the Packers have a significant need at NT for the future. Clark doesn't have the length of other DTs but he has proven to be able to play a full game and is a stout run defender and the perfect 4-3 NT for the Packers system. He will fit with the Packers mold and will likely pack on another 10 lbs to his frame.

With the 28th pick in the NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select:

    Noah Spence, OLB, Eastern Kentucky

With the emergence of Justin Houston's knee injury recently, the Chiefs are in a tricky spot with their pass rush. Tamba Hali is on his last legs but the Chiefs were forced to re-invest in him because the team relies on the pass rush so heavily and former first rounder Dee Ford hasn't progressed as quickly as hoped. By adding Noah Spence to the mix, he will be able to refine his craft behind 2 of the NFL's best pass rushers while having ample opportunity to make a play for a starting job. With Sean Smith departing for Oakland this off-season, the onus is on the pass rush to force the QB to get rid of the ball quickly. Ideally, Houston gets healthy and forms a three headed monster with Spence and Ford while Hali is able to ride into the sunset in 2017.

    Bottom Line
His issues are well-*documented, but his recovery and turnaround is what has NFL teams excited. Spence has been accountable for his actions and worked just as hard off the field as he has on the field to change his life and attack his problems. His inability to hold the point of attack combined with his ability to rush the passer make him a logical choice as a 3-*4 rush linebacker. The speed of the game make take a year or two to get used to, but Spence should become a starter early in his career.

With the 30th overall selection, the Carolina Panthers select Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor

Though Kelvin Benjamin will return from injury, the Panthers will look to give their franchise quarterback Cam Newton another weapon in the passing game. Corey Coleman is a vertical threat who can take it to the house at any given moment. Coleman should be able to provide an instant impact for the Panthers with Cam Newton under center.

With the 33rd selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select...

    Emmanuel Ogbah, OLB Oklahoma State

Ogbah has the strength to make plays day one but he is still raw and needs time to develop. Coming off the bench for Orakpo or Morgan is pretty crucial for the Titans to get that next elite pass rusher.

With the 34th pick the Dallas Cowboys select- Kevin Dodd DE (Clemson)

The Cowboy's staff could not resist a top 15 pick sliding to the second round. At 6'5", 277 Dodd can sometimes drop on passes and can play both end positions. Hoping to address some other CB/S issues later in the draft... it should make their lives much easier with Dodd pressuring the QB and Jack flying all over the field. Even with several FA losses and past poor play by the others on the D... things are finally looking up.

With the 35th pick the San Diego Chargers select- Jaylon Smith LB (Notre Dame)

Probably the number 1 pick in the draft before his unlucky injury... the Chargers are happy to have such a superior athlete on their team. Future team leader with All-Pro possibilities still in the mix. Even with a loss of a step he would still be leaps and bounds above almost any LB in the draft. The defense will take more than one year to rebuild... Smith is a super start.

With the 37th pick, the San Francisco 49ers select...

    Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama

After looking over the drafted players multiple times, I thought I had a tough choice between Taylor Decker and Jarran Reed here. After one last check I realized Decker went MUCH higher than this, making Reed the obvious choice. Defensive line may not be a glaring weakness for the 49ers, but the NFL is becoming a league where versatility is so valuable, and IMO Reed can play anywhere along the defensive line. At Alabama he was a run stuffing NT, but this is a player that I think can be more than that in the NFL. In the end, Reed was just too talented to pass up here. This is a guy that is ranked in the top 15-20 on most boards, and he was sitting there at 37. In the draft, you just can't afford to pass up talent like that.

The Tampa Bay Bucs select Will Fuller, WR, ND

Not necessarily a need this season, but an aging VJax is expected to hit the open market next season and value comes on the board with the best field spreading WR available. Winston can now sleep soundly with Mike Evans and Fuller in his corner.
