Ido was just waived from the Browns. Protected top pick before shredding his knee in practice before the NCG 2 years ago.

Anyone have any info on his injury? LOVED the guy going out of college. Would love to see us bring him in. He had a nasty injury, but he's young, and was a top 10 pick before he was injured. We could badly use a young DB with stud potential.

Bring him in NOW! Worry about his injury later. Seriously though, I so wanted the team to draft him.

If it were any other orfanization, Id assume he was done... But it was Cleveland, and theyre one of the organizations that make us look good.

Would love for him to pan out... If anywhere, youd think hed end up in San Fran.

It makes you wonder why the Browns cut him, since they knew he wouldn't be playing in '15.

It couldn't hurt to bring him in though.

    Browns waived DB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu.

A 2015 seventh-round pick, Ekpre-Olomu spent his entire rookie year on NFI rehabbing from ACL surgery and a dislocated kneecap. He said he was close to fully recovered in February, but the Browns cut him after he hadn't progressed as hoped. It's possible some team will take a flyer on the ex-Oregon star if he can prove his health, but his NFL future is in doubt.

Bring him in! Hell I'd rather have him for the next 3 months to see if he can turn the corner, than Daniel Thomas!

why not? if he does get healthy you have an absolute steal, if not you release him, no harm no foul.

This is most likely much to do about nothing. Odds are his medicals are not good, but good organizations to their due diligence. I would certainly use our position in the waiver system to claim him, have our team doctors examine him, and act accordingly. If the medicals are as bad as the Browns think they are, he could be on and off the team within two days.

As a 7th round pick, I see virtually no downside to claiming him. If he can't play, you're out the lowest possible minimum salary as a dead hit. If he can play well enough even just to make the roster, then you have him cheap for three years. With his potential upside, I hope that they pull the trigger.

Virtually no downside, and potentially huge upside. If he can even just get onto the field and make the roster, at his cap numbers, this is a big win.

This signing is sort of the opposite of the Daniel Thomas signing in that it provides rays of hope rather than stomach-falling despair.

Great pickup. Continues the wave of signing low risk, high reward players. Hopefully he can stay healthy because when he is, he has serious talent. Just like Kiko Alonso.

We have some interesting Wild Cards with Oregon defenders: Alonso, Epkre-Olomu and of course Dion Jordan.

We are getting stronger in the secondary. We are also getting plenty of depth as well. I like this move. We are getting some special players IMO.

Nice! Duck season ticket owner, guy was a BEAST for us. So excited that we brought him in. Word was that he was a purge more than an injury worry. No downside, quality due diligence.

I agree there is no downside to this move. His height worries me a bit, but Grimes did well for a while about the same size. Hopefully Jordan will be more motivated to get his butt in gear and want to make a anme for himself too. Hopefully there is a good connection these guys have on him.

If he recovers, he may be a better FS prospect, especially if he's lost a little speed, he clearly loves playing while looking at the QB, and gets handsy with his back to the QB, I saw a lot of potential NFL yellow flags in his highlight reels, he is ultra aggressive for a CB, but tough and not afraid to lower the boom on players.

I'm very interested to see how well he's recovered, and what he might bring to the team, this does have the potential to be a steal.

Don't be alarmed with the old thread title. I'm bumping b/c:

    @Rand_Getlin

Good news #Dolphins fans: I'm told CB Ifo Ekpre-Olumu received full medical clearance today. He's ready to go.

Yeah, he doesn't have their desired measurables but this kid is a gamer. I can see him playing both on the boundary & the slot.

The thing that came out in the wake of his injury was that he had nerve damage and if that's the case he may be permanently impacted even if he has been cleared to participate in practice and games. He may never have the strength or responsiveness or speed that he used to. But I'm hoping he does. With Jaylon Smith there were a lot of people acknowledging the nerve damage but saying that unlike Myles Jack whose cartilage issue will only get worse, Jaylon Smith's nerves will only continue to get better and better. I imagine the same is true for Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, but it's anyone's guess whether the nerve will continue to regenerate back to where he has pre-injury strength and responsiveness.

Nonetheless this was a no-brainer in terms of waiver claims.

I agree with CK that this was a no brainer choice to claim him. His contract is the minimum for the next three years. If he's healthy and can play, even if he's not as good as he might have been before, its like getting another draft pick. If he can't, then nothing lost. Right now though, he goes into the mix with all of the other young guys we have at corner. Throw enough at the wall and something is likely to stick.

    Interesting.
If it's nerve compression (something pressing against a nerve) then there is a good chance of full recovery.
If it's nerve separation then its more tricky and depends a lot on the extent of the separation and how many if any neural pathways are left to compensate, although nerves in the limbs have better chances of regeneration than other parts of the body.

Also joints like the shoulder and knee are extremely difficult to get good diagnostics from an MRI, X-ray or other scan because there's too many things happening in too many directions. The best way to find out what's happening is to cut someone open and take a look.

While I can understand the Browns cutting him, I think there is value in using a waiver wire shot on him.

How pissed will the Browns fanbase be if this kid plays well?

Looks to be solid depth behind McCain at only 5'9". I'll take it...

Now just get Dion reinstated and we'll have all our Ducks in a row, so to speak.

Well, its the Browns, plus they had HUGE shakeups in their front office and how they do business. Entirely possible that the new guys in charge feel completely differently about players than the former ones.
