Surprised no thread about this yet. It's a side runner / spin off of The Walking Dead. It takes you back to Day 1, in Los Angeles. We're two episodes in. I think it's absolutely fantastic. It's the best show on Sunday nights at the moment, that is for sure. Won't give too much away here, if you haven't seen it, you need to especially if you are a fan of the Walking Dead. Different cast. Really good. Highly recommended...

I agree. I haven't watched last nights episode yet because I was out, but I'll watch it tonight. The first episode showed really well.

yeah the last couple of episodes have been a disappointment compared to how it started out. Felt a little like Giligans Island when they were going to leave their neighborhood only to get stopped by the military and having to return.

Anyone check out the premier? Good god this show sucks.

    - Terrible characters: Strand is the only interesting character. Everyone else is cookie cutter, vanilla, or just plain uninteresting.
    - Story line: I thought this was suppose to investigate the beginning of the outbreak? Instead, we get unlikable characters, stuck on boat, in a low speed chase because some girl fell in love over a radio conversation...
    - Bad writing galore: You think TWD has bad writing? FTWD ups the ante. Characters willingly put themselves into dumb situations in order to manufacture "drama."

How did AMC drop the ball so badly? Could they not hire competent show runners, writers, producers, etc...? You have a gold mine franchise. As bad as this show is, people can't get enough Zombies. Even TWD video game, which was as low budget as it gets, was significantly better in regards to telling a story. The last of us, another video game, got it right. But this show? It couldn't have flopped harder. It's hit Rock Bottom after 7 lousy episodes.

The only way to save this show, is to slowly kill the main cast, leaving Strand as the lone survivor. Follow his journey through the world, and create some new companions along the way. In fact, make him an anti hero or full blown villain. Someone who survives at all costs, using and manipulating people along the way. I've heard Jeffery Dean Morgan say that if we followed Neegan's journey from the start of the TWD, we may support him as much as we do, Rick and co. OK... Let's see if that's true by watching a character with thin morals navigate through the world, surviving at any cost, and let's see if we support him. It would be the flip side of coin for a show we already have.

I was disappointed in the premier . You have to have some excellent writing and actors to pull off the dialogue in such a claustrophobic environment and this series does not have it IMO. I Will watch a couple of more episodes

One of the semi interesting things from last week's episode was when they said something to the effect of "the infection (from a bite) kills you but you come back as a walker regardless." So the medical people knew early on that there were two things going on. Unlike what we saw from TWD's early seasons. I do agree that Strand is one of the lone bright spots. We're not really sure what he's up to, but we'd like to find out.

Another thing was when the druggie son whose name I don't really care to find out... when he was under that boat that had flipped over... and the walker was starting to attack him... then the walker stopped... did he stop because he heard someone calling for the him or did he stop because he saw the druggie son as "already dead" in that he's probably overdosed a couple of times and come back to life (Strand alluded to that earlier in the episode). Perhaps that is your temporary cure to not have the walkers attack you?
