WE can lose every game we're supposed to win, and win every game we're supposed to lose. Having said that the toughest games will be Seattle, one of the NE games, Bengals, Steelers, AZ, and Baltimore maybe. The rest are wobblers can go anyway.

That stretch of games from Cleveland - NYJ could make or break the season. They call it home field advantage for a reason, need to seize that opportunity. That start though is messed up. First three road games @SEA @NE @CINCI really NFL? WTF.

I'm guessing 5 wins at this point.

This team just isn't talented enough. They lost too much talent in free agency and have not adequately replaced that talent.

We're looking at a losing record at the bye for sure, maybe we can be 3-4 but 2-5 is more likely.

Yeah first game will be brutal with the crowd noise but remember, chances are Marsha will be suspended by then. Don't get me wrong, I always want my team to go against any opponent at full strength but don't be surprised if the ruling gets overturned thus resulting in a more favorable start of the season.

Yeah I'm not going into this season looking for any sort of result or record. The Dolphins are again coming into a season off huge changes. Almost all new coaching staff, new GM, some significant player changes. It's a new start again, so my intention is just to watch the games with fresh eyes, watch to see how they do, no expectations, and looks for team and individual performances - and try to just enjoy 16 games of pro football.

I'd rather play a good team at home who will be highly favored in the first game because you may be able to catch them sleeping.

The Pats are at their most vulnerable early in the year before BB gets film to study on his opponents and late in the year when they're usually resting their starters and running vanilla schemes to keep their playoff strategies under wraps. Also there's still a chance Brady will be suspended for the first game too.
The Seahawks started slowly last year, and it will be the first game under Gase's scheme which will limit the Seahwak's ability to gameplan us. So again that's a better opportunity for us.
I'd be disappointed if Vance Johnson and Adam Gase couldn't cook up something special to exploit Cincy's Defense.
    The browns are the browns.

I'm, not saying we should run through them 4-0, just that the timing of those 4 games is pretty good for us and I'd much rather that group of games in weeks 1-4 than any other 4 game stretch in the season.

I see weeks 5 to 9 as being more brutal than weeks 1-4.

Perfect time to catch Seattle. I was hoping we got them early. Weather should be on our side. They won't have ANY film to study our offense. We don't even know what that's going to look like. Not predicting a win or anything, but they gotta snap the ball. Ya'll are going to be surprised by many Aqua jerseys will be there. Including mine. I might even get a new one for that day.

The schedule looks ugly at a first glance but there are a few things to like:

    1) We don't sacrifice a home game to play in London this season.
    2) We play 4 home games in a row in the middle of the season.
    3) Our bye is on week 8, much better than the last couple of seasons (week 5).

I don't think it's worse than last season's schedule, it could even better. Last season we were a lock to win at least the first 4 games of the season and we started terribly, maybe next season the opposite will happen.

The NFL loves us against NE the last game of the season. We have no business winning that game but we've been splitting for a while now. Catching them early is good imo.

Seattle looks like a trap game for them.

    Browns?

    Cincinnati?

It's not so bad. Titans though, they're gonna be out for blood after last year.

Our first two games on the road came at the request of Dolphins' brass because of the stadium renovations. It's fruitless to pick L's and W's, but those two opening games are pretty daunting.

A little off topic but did anyone see the Monday Night Football schedule. Not surprised we don't play one but this is a dismal set of games. I would have to assume the Thursday Night schedule is better. Its almost like ESPN wants its revenues to continue to decline. Vikings, Redskins, Bears, Eagles, Giants and Redskins play twice. Really the sucky NFC east teams and then Bears and Vikings play twice?!? Carolina only team that plays twice that's actually worth watching[TABLE]

We have an uncharacteristically late BYE week in Week 8 this season. That has us at 4-3 at that point. Like jdang said, I see about 6 buzzsaw games where we can just go in and get torn in half. 4 of those 6 are before the BYE week. If we walk into week 8 at 4-3, then we'd have had to beat at least one of those 4 buzzsaw teams. If we do any better than 4-3 going into week 8, then you have to think there's a chance of an 8-8 or 9-7 season. My current count is about 7-9 but the pre-BYE record will say a lot about where this team is. Usually with that week 4 BYE we seem to get a lot, you can't really tell how good or bad this team really is.

I think 6 wins is probably the max. With this schedule and the fact the Dolphins have lost more than they have added in the off season, as far as talent. I will not be surprised if they finish 4-12 next year.

Hopefully we can all be patient with Gase, because it is going to be at least three years and hopefully some solid drafts before this team is a legitimate playoff contender, IMO.

If you're Adam Gase, you couldn't ask for anything better. There are going to be plenty of articles written and doubt publicized. There is no better way to bring this team together, focus on getting stronger and faster, and have preseason mean something significant than to start with NE and Seattle. You want respect as players and as a team? Go get it...Tannehill wants to be a leader and silence the doubters and show the world he's worth the money? You can do all of that in a period of two short weeks.

Setting Sights on Seattle. That should be all the focus. Every rep, every snap, every meeting--this is HUGE. I love starting like this. Way better than Washington and JAX. Going 1-1 against those guys was so deflating. Going 1-1 against these two means we still have 14 games to get more dominant.

No need to do anything conservative in either game. Throw everything you can muster on both sides of the ball. Everyone expects you to lose both games. #shocktheworld!

Week 8 isn't late, it's right around the middle of the season which is where you want your bye week to be so that it splits the season equally. It might be uncharateristic for us as of late since we've been getting these London games early in the season, but not compared with the rest of the league.

Hard to really disagree with you but coaching makes and breaks everything. Most guys in the NFL are comparable in talent. It is coaching that bring out the probowler in that talent. Hopefully, Gase can do that for us.

Schedule's always going to look tough when your division rivals just shredded you last season (1-5). Let's see what the new HC has cooked up against some of these playoff teams right off the bat. I'm very optimistic about Gase; a HC change is one of those things that can spark a fast turnaround.

I always bet on the Dolphins even when I think they'll lose, but I'll do so on the spread, not the moneyline. So I'm betting they'll lose by less than some number of points. This way I never have to place a bet on the other team. And if I think they won't cover the spread, I bet the tiniest amount on it haha.

There are too many variables that can change a team before we play them, which makes worrying about the schedule a fool's errand.

For example, Seattle has a history of starting slow. What if Brady is suspended during our first game (we could sweep them)? What if the Browns still suck? What if the Bengals have some injuries? We could be 4-0 and still finish with 6 wins.

The only thing that matters is the bye week and we finally have a decent one.

I really like the hiring of Gase, but I am not a Tannebaum fan. I am just afraid that Tannebaum isn't going to provide Gase with enough talent over the next few years and it will be Gase who suffered the consequences of having Tannebaum in a role I just don't think he is suited for.

I see this as at least a three year rebuilding job and that is only if the Dolphins can have productive drafts the next three years.

Unfortunately it appears Tannebaum is Ross's man and if the Dolphins continue to struggle for the next few years, Tannebaum will place the blame on everyone but himself.

I think Gase is going to turn out to be a very good HC eventually, but I just don't know if it will be in Miami. Because with the limited talent he has on the roster at this time and how long it going to take to put the pieces in place, he may be gone before the Dolphins actually turn their team around.

So this begs the questions really if we go 8-8 or under the fans are going to immediately confidence in the new coaches and staff. SAME old Dolphins, QB whisperer and look Ryan still couldnt win when it counts. I know we need to give him 3 years but I dont feel the fanbase is going to allow that. They are tired of being asked to wait for a winner.

Also what happens to ryan everyone says this is his make or break year. If he cant win these games hes on the hotseat. a 4-12 season anything under .500 and I think were drafting a NEW QB and asking to wait again while they groom him. I like Ryan but I feel he lacks the fire to be the best (remember marios eyes) he was the leader we need someone to say damnit were not losing follow me!

Matt Stafford had a 97 rating and the team went 7-9.
Philip Rivers had a 94 rating and the team went 4-12.
Aaron Rodgers had a 93 rating and the team went 10-6.
Peyton Manning had a 68 rating and the team went won it all.

There are more months in the football season than December. We could have gotten those games a couple weeks in instead. I don't really think it makes a difference either way, but when a season is all about momentum it would have been nice not to start against two perennial playoff teams. That being said, if the Dolphins win those games then the momentum will be in full swing right away.

You can't say which it is yet....if we lose it will be just Thill against Wilson. If we win, (like we did before) it will be a team effort in spite of Thill.
