Trade up and take Jack. That's two blue chippers. He's coming close to Bo Jackson like status.

I'd give next year's 3rd. He can already jump 40 inches.

We should have already traded to be the top pick in the second to get Jack. The knee stuff is overblown and this guy is a generational talent at a position of need with Landry like drive who will be playing with a chip on his shoulder.

31 teams are going to regret not grabbing him.

I wouldn't mind at all if we traded up to take Jack. Unfortunately, I think a LOT of teams will be trying to do this.

I understand the obsession with Myles Jack even less than I did before. Much less.

When you have put subpar MLB's on the field since 54 left, and you see a chance to recapture that comfort of a consistently good and reliable player at that spot. I'm all for it, even in a trade up.

One of the best players in the draft, regardless of position.

To be honest he was my favorite player in this draft all along.

If you want a MLB how about Ragland? He's solid, and he doesn't need season ending surgery.

Ragland is almost a 2-down LB... Jack doesn't need surgery any time in the 'near' future.

I really would be off taking Jack now... but the I think about Thomas Davis and such. Heck, in a couple of years they are likely to have electronic & bionic knees/miniscus/tendons/ligaments/etc anyway. The guy is a football beast right now but who knows?

I am all for anything defensive tho.

I was thinking that too, would LOVE Ragland with the second pick.

So overblown that the entire NFL said no? What are your medical credentials, and when did you get access to those medical records to say it is overblown?

If we are talking a guy who is likely to not have issues within 5-6 years then sure I take him. But hearing that the knee could go at any time is rather different. What seemed initially to be a smokescreen may indeed be true unfortunately for him. Just need to figure out the proper risk/reward spot.

Ragland isn't the greatest as a cover LB. Pretty big drop. I like him as a player, but with his aorta issue, he's got medical red flags of his own.

That being said, something requiring yearly monitoring only, is a lot safer than a guy who's knee might not get him through his rookie deal, and may need surgery this offseason. Jack is a great player, but a big risk. I'm not sure this team can take that risk. Especially with Misi and Alonso both appearing to be made of glass already as it is.

The fear isn't that his knee could go at any time. Not sure where you're getting that from. THE NFL is notoriously squirrelly about injuries in the draft and often overreact.

His knee has been called a ticking time bomb. Joint degeneration and nerve damage.

Think he is getting it from the fact that he's one of the most talented players in the draft, yet dropped completely out of the first round.

I thought Jack was degeneration (getting near bone on bone) and J.Smith's was the nerve damage (stretched nerve).

If it is just near bone on bone, so was Ajayi and he is being counted on to be a huge contributor this year. That shouldn't scare Miami then. However I think Jack's knee has multiple problems and it is a matter of when it implodes, not if.

Jack's knee issue is quite obviously real, which turns him into a luxury pick, and we aren't in that position in the 2nd, imo.

That's not what the fear is. You have this weird blind spot with knee injuries, you pulled the same crap with Ajayi.

The fear is that he'll only be good for a few years, not that it could go on him any second.

A guy who has really intrigued me at ILB, ran a 4.54 at his pro day, 36" vert, 36 reps on the bench, 5'10", 251lbs, William Ratelle, whatch this vid and tell me this guy doesn't remind you of someone.

Yeah, I see it. Good eye.

Does anyone know about his will and study ethic, cause he seems to be pretty good at diagnosing and is a sure tackler.

Not possible for anyone to make such a determination without the medicals? How do you know that his knee will last for a few years? It could be a few days, months, years, or possibly never. The only thing we know is that the 32 teams that have his medicals passed on a highly elite talent in the first round.

    Stop.

I didn't say that's what would happen. I said that's what the fear has been. The idea that his knee will explode at any minute is not what has been actually reported.

But if you want to keep playing this stupid effing game fine...

Where's your medical degree and when did you see his medicals to determine what you have?

    Thought so.

I made no determination of his condition. I'm deferring to those that have his medicals - the 32 teams that passed on him

Then what the **** are you giving me **** over?

I didn't say his knee was fine. I said the fear isn't that his knee is a ticking timebomb and that teams tend to overreact to injuries in the draft.

Nothing of your argument counters a goddamned bit of that so you're either starting **** to start **** or you think the fear is that his knee will go at any moment like you did last year with Ajayi....which is it?

Yeah, I haven't seen anyone report that his knee could go any second. The fear is, that I've seen reported, that he might not make it out of his initial contract before needing micro fracture surgery.

That's enough to drop someone out of the first round.

Listen, for him to make that admission he did yesterday was huge. It was stupid though. Someone might have taken a shot at him yesterday, but he admitted the knee had an expiration date.

Which is my point. There's an expiration date but there is not ticking time bomb that could happen at a minute.

I'm not sure what his study ethic is, but his on field ethic is high, high motor, quickly diagnoses, plays to the whistle, willingness to take on lineman, good stuff.

Other film, the 1st vid below is a highlight tape of William James, S, but if you isolate Ratelle, he puts up some great tape on there too, too much good to get into, but..

right at the end there is a play where he gets 2X by Oline, he rocks the OG on initial hit, but there is another guy to pick him up, Ratelle trying to get the edge but the Oline knocks Ratelle down, but he springs right back up and makes the tackle near the LOS on the far side of the field, no quit.

    Wow. Jack to the Jags?

So they got the best cover corner in the draft. The best linebacker. They're getting Fowler Jr. back. Signed Malik Jackson, Teshaun Gipson, and Chris Ivory. I think that team is gearing up for a run in the AFC.
