Hawks players are mad the Cavs kept firing 3s trying to set the record when they were up that much. What do you guys think? I'm not even gonna pretend to be objective about it cuz that was too much fun.

Listen - you guys still regularly make Comic Sans jokes from something that happened in 2009. I can clap back a little.

It was backups who set the record, if they wanted to stop it, the Hawks could have kept their starters in to play defense.

I like Team records that organically happen within the flow of the game. The Cavs scrub squad made a mockery of the game to get the record.

Had the Dubs wanted to break that record...they could have done it in any one of many blow outs they had this year. They just elected to play basketball. Cavs scrub squad elected to go for the record.

it's all good. Nobody will remember how the record was set.

    Pacers have fired Frank Vogel.

Can't help but think a blown call under the basket sealed his fate.

Someone will get a good coach.

Yeah, I don't see the problem. It wasn't like they kept LeBron and the starters in there to try and do it. They put their backups in and those guys kept shooting, and they kept making. I agree with Stitches, if you don't like it, stop them. Many times in blowouts like that you see the winning team start jacking up threes anyway.

While I agree they were going for the record, I'm not sure they weren't playing basketball. Most of the guys that were out there can hit threes or are best in catch and shoot, it isn't like they had many playmakers out there or even guys who get regular run for the most part, so their basketball is going to look worse.

Larry Bird is a moron. Fires a great coach in Vogel, then later says that he won't be hiring McHale because he has "too much respect for him". What the hell does that even mean lol.

Someone is going to get a good young coach in Vogel, even though I couldn't stand him or that Pacers team, they always gave the Heat fits. He needs a sharp offensive mind on his staff, but someone is going to get a helluva coach. Maybe he sits out a year waiting on a good opening like Thibs did this year. Lakers would be much better with Vogel than with Walton for instance.

I didn't watch any of the second half so I can't speak to specifics but in general I would expect a team that shoots a ton of threes to continue doing so even after the starters are out. It's a big part of their offensive system. I'd want my back-ups to continue gaining experience in my offensive system. I would not want them out there trying to run a Harvard offense.

I think so. No one wants to say it but it sounds like he should be on blood thinners for the rest of his life:

I see Bosh's NBA future as pretty questionable. When someone has a clotting incident after a minor trauma, doctors will regularly put that person on blood thinners for 3-6 months. If there are no recurrences, that's often it. But if there is a recurrence, which IIRC it was reported that Bosh may have had a second clotting incident then blood thinners are often continued for life. Also if you happen to be in a profession where the chance of more minor traumas is high then many doctors would also advise staying on blood thinners. With blood thinners it's always a balance of risks (bleeding vs. clots). At best I would expect that there will be a a mix of medical opinions on the matter. And really other then more time passing while not engaging in the risky activity, I don't see that balance of risk being much different at the beginning of the season than it is now. At that point you'll still have the same question about whether it's safe for Bosh to play as you do now and there won't be much more new info to base that decision on.

if Bosh never plays again then I'll be devastated. However, his health comes before a game.

Hope the Heat gives him a role on the coaching side if Bosh wants to go that route.

He gets the same money going to a medical retirement, but he misses out money he can get (look at dirks contract) after his max contract expires.

Bosh seems like a very smart and responsible guy, i dont think he needs that money.

    5 turnovers already.

I just cannot understand how a veteran team like this just hands the ball to the other team so frequently. Sloppy and stupid.

One day Goran Dragic will get a foul call for his trouble.

Gotta love the irony of Kenny Mauer calling a foul on Dragic, then stopping the game to cleanup his face blood off the floor.

The whole team was a no show in OT... Hassan was a no show on a key missed free throw attempt that allowed Valenciunus to grab the rebound and putback

Hassan has been getting owned by Valanciunas, he needs to put his big boy pants on if we are gonna win this series. We blew a golden opportunity tonight to put this team away. Now they have confidence.
