Erik Spoelstra almost lost his **** on Luol Deng, Luol is struggling hard to inbound. Coach Spo looked like he was going to run to Luol and strangle him.. Never seen him like that before..
You call that confidence? Win a game in OT on your home floor when your opponent sets a team record for turnovers in a quarter and you shoot double the FT's, and they turn it over twice as much? I call that..reinforcing the doubt.
I'm smiling. They can't handle our game..that hasn't shown up yet..and we stole home court. The Raptors look over-matched so far....
In before NBA says refs missed call on cheap Jonas Valanciunas holding onto Whiteside's arm. Dude needs a good clocking from Dexter Pittman. Anyone else seeing him getting away with smacking Whiteside in the face? Dude plays cheap as hell.
While it was frustrating to lose a winnable game, it is nice to know that we've been in both games playing like crap. Only thing that bothers me is.... we've been playing like crap. Put it together and finish these guys off.
Heat just look like the better team Turnovers killed us. When we played in a normal fashion we dominated them. Whiteside just looked out of gas in the 4th. Winslow awful in both games
Lowry has played like crap his entire playoff career. THAT is who he is. Oh..and he has no shot. Never has had one. he just shot 3's OK the last few years (slightly below and above league average), but he has been a notoriously bad midrange shooter. he hit some big ones in this last game though, so I guess you can chalk that up as another anomaly.
We just looked like we were running on fumes all night and simply ran out of gas in OT. We should be much more rested and ready for Game 3 and beyond. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
The Heat are the better team either way - but as long as Derozan and Lowry keep playing like this, it's going to look lopsided. Heat have to hope those guys don't gain some confidence somewhere (doubtful) and start hitting shots. Just to illustrate - Derozan in the playoffs is shooting 34% overall, 17% from 3, 76% from the FT line after going 45% / 34% / 85% in the regular season Lowry in the playoffs: 31% FG%, 16% from 3, 69% from FT after a 43% / 39% / 81% regular season If Toronto's two best players keep playing like that, it's gonna be a 5 game series. Trying to remember another team as mentally broken as Toronto right now.
I agree with everything you're saying here, but it's so frustrating to give away games that you should have won, especially in the playoffs. You had the chance to effectively end the series and you screwed up. Ideally we go home now and take care of business in both games, though.
True, and Miami is a solid defensive team so it doesn't look good for Lowry but he is a guy that can and has played at a high level in the league. If he can get his head on straight the series could get interesting. Toronto probably needs to blow this core up though, they are just a team that has a regular season lineup and can't get it done in the playoffs, it happens sometimes in the NBA.
No doubt about it that Kyle Lowry is a helluva player. An All-star. But the Heat let him shoot all night and loaded up on DeRozan...did a nice job on DeRozan...Lowry, with nobody pressing him, shot 7-22. He is just in his own head now, or maybe he is injured?
Anyway, you gotta be pretty happy if you are a Heat fan right now... You are rightfully angry with all the self inflicted wounds they have had, and all the mind numbing dumb play at times..and yet..here you are. Stole Home Court, and almost took BOTH games in Toronto, while you are coming back to a place where you have been doing Golden State Warrior impersonations for about a month and a half now... Just gotta do the work. Stop these dumb turnovers, bonehead play, and we should be ok.
Heat should have a pretty strong showing at home and they'll be playing each of the last three games of the series for the win. You go all the way up to Toronto in a very loud arena playing the #2 seed and you bring both games into overtime and win one of them, that's a damn good job. I guess you wish that we could be dominating as much as the Cavs are dominating Atlanta right now, but the Cavs are the better team and if/when the Heat play Cleveland they're going to have to depend on a combination of being unstoppable at home (which they kind of are) and then catching the Cavs on just one off night on the road (someone gets in foul trouble, someone bangs his knee and misses half the game, etc).
Raptors are one the best road team in the league, Lowry seems to get his groove back. Raps will split in Miami!
if the Heat play with their heads screwed on right, we win tomorrow in a blowout. The turnovers must go down and the sets has to produce high percentage shot attempts.. Isos and trying to hit a layup in heavy traffic needs to end..
Cavs Hawks in another good game. Frye might be the best pickup for a playoff run, he's really giving them some good minutes. Cleveland has a legit chance at winning it all.
Hawks are the Peyton Manning of the regular season. They're trash in the playoffs. Just let the Heat get the Cavs and we'll give them a run for their money. Seeing us win in 6 in Miami against the Cavs.
Eh i dont expect their three point shooting to be as good as it has been against us lol itll be a six game series but Cleveland should win. Cant overlook Toronto though, hope they stay focused and the Heat take care of business tomorrow
I think we give Cleveland problems but that means we take it six games before they beat us. If we had Bosh all bets are off...I actually think the Heat would win with Bosh.
I'd give the Heat a much better chance with a healthy Bosh for sure. I honestly think Cleveland has a good lineup, if Golden State isn't 100% and they meet again in the Finals Cleveland might win this time. Cleveland's role players are much better this year. Belladova isn't playing 30-40 minutes a night this year for example....
I don't know that you guys are giving yourselves enough credit (unless I'm giving you too much). I could easily see a Cavs/Heat series going to 7 games. I could also see the Heat winning it.
I trust 95% of the Heat team to not dare overlook Toronto. Maybe Whiteside would do it. Otherwise we're free to look beyond as fans because we know the Heat aren't the type of players that would do the same.
I do believe that the Heat does a good job of defending the three point line. And the Cavs are a completely different team when their 3s aren't falling. That and our rebounding success against the Cavs are the reasons why we had success against them in the regular season. That success is what makes me cautiously optimistic about a series against the Cavs. Of course, the regular season is a different animal and the Cavs are also the better team so I won't go as far as predict a win for Miami, but I do expect a 6 or 7 game series and even a win wouldn't be a huge shock. A win would be unexpected, but not a huge shock for me. If we had Bosh then I might feel confident enough to predict a win. His addition would make the series pretty even in my mind. But as it stands, the Cavs are the better team.
NOT saying we would win, but I think the Heat would give the Warriors more than anyone expects in a seven game series.
I think most people that actually watch the game know that the Heat are a good team and would give any team a hard series. It wouldn't be the biggest upset ever if the Heat beat the Cavs. I'd say it would be a major upset if they beat the Cavs and the Warriors, one of the bigger surprises in recent sports history.
Wow. Sounds like a serious knee injury for Whiteside, which is just awful. Horrible timing for him and this offseason. Ugh. Not sure how many games we can win without him either.
Im pretty sure hes done for season.. hes a gamer, if its a sprain he will just rehab and comeback if we get to the ECF.
If its a really serious injury, like a torn ligament, that may change his future in Miami .. Riley will have one offer and charlotte may offer max
I just dont understand, no valenciunus, we need an inside presence. Put Amare in, he can still hold his own offensively..
Lowry and DeRozan hit shots...that's it. Our offense stood around for 3 quarters of that game. This is where blowing game 2 just kills you. Aarrgh. We'll see how Whiteside's MRI goes.
We blew both games.. I don't know what to expect next game especially with Whiteside out.. could be embarrassing.
