http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachp...-wr-jakeem-grant-earns-nickname-mighty-mouse/ kinda bs knickname when you've already got the dream... Tannehill saying he is making plays all over the field. Which is what you would expect in shorts. Still though, I expect he'll have a national following after preseason. It's his speed that will seperate him from the usual suspects. While bringing back the art of the juke...
Just saw the Tannehill presser where he talks about Jakeem. He didn't get asked about Jakeem. Tanny brought him into the discussion when asked about what he thinks of the investments made in the Offense over the offseason. Mentioned how Caroo and Jakeem were like yin and yang in their attributes. But, he called out Jakeem already as someone who will be fun to watch. Man, I can see the mania surrounding Jakeem starting.
The kid is electric. Pretty nice ball position as a passer as well.
getting jacked around here. he needs to sleep next to the juggs machine, thats it, we know he can shred every which way but loose...hands baby..all hands..
I love the different body types we have at WR. As Gase said, it should make us harder to defend. RT definitely has some weapons at his disposal. Our offense is going to be fun to watch.
I actually love the new nick name, although normally I'd think it's a bit early for a nick name, but this isn't fan generated, he got this from team mates so it's all good. I'm a fan of nick names, but I have guide lines, lol, not a big fan of recycled NN's, and to me, Olajuwon will always be "the Dream"(no offense Panda), he put such a stamp on it that it's nearly a ™, and I also think that you must be among the greatest in your position to carry the NN, the Dream, jmo.
It's not quite as bad a nick name as Mr. Sack. I guess it'll do. I'm thinking he should have one of those opposite nick names like Big Country, Stretch or Tree Top. If you're not into the opposite thing then maybe a classic like Short Round, Short Stack or Smalls. Short Stop would fit his skill set.
I think we should call him the "Stick" he's 5'7 168 lbs wet! But he carries a big Stick.. I just hope we can make a position or plays for this guy. Worried he will get hurt however. 5-7 is Tiny. Tanny will have to adjust his throwing more towards the ground than with his other tall receivers.. Weler was 5-9 however.
I kind of liked the nick name 'Stick' until you explained it, lol. I think it's better left as just 'Stick' and leave it to the imagination. Could be short for joystick, could be stick 'n move, could mean he sticks to defenders despite being so small, etc. In Club before we mentioned Eyeshield 21. But that's kind of a geek reference.
Oh damn, I wonder if Jakeem can steal 'Pinball' Clemons nick name since Pinball only played in the CFL. I mean the NFL takes precedent, right?
Best I've got so far: Short Round Less Welker Matchbox Hot Wheels Pinball Stick Dash Lambo Frodo Kevin Hart The big plus on Short Round is you could totally photoshop Tannehill and Jakeem into this: I can't do it right this minute but it's doable.
"Mighty Mouse"... hope Todd doesn't get upset with them stealing his personal nickname for his pee pee...
Kinda hoping for something different, Mighty Mouse will always be Damon Stoudamire when he was a beast for the Raptors
I agree that his speed makes him special...but he's not just a sub 4.3 guy that plays football. He's a good football player that has world class speed.
That's why I thought the name was meh.I had forgotten about Hakeem. We gotta come up with something new. I like the name "lil' Man" from the Wayans movie. However, Mighty Mouse will do for now, but there is a potential moment looming where he just takes over a game in mesmerizing fashion. Everyone will just think, "Wow...The Dream." So there is potential for redeeming the name if he performs like an Olajawan. I also thought Gary Sanders, implying he was a Gary Coleman sized Barry Sanders.
I know Tannehill was only comparing him to Mighty Mouse... But here we go again trying to make boring, lazy nicknames stick. The guys name is Jakeem......he's 5'6 and drafted in the NFL. It's " the Dream " or nothing. we had an opportunity to give Wake a cool nickname that could stick..... I mean c'mon man his name is (Cwake) !!.....but some conspired to try and name him after a scary monster from Greek mythology they only learned about from a hit movie that just came out. Same jokers who dubbed Matt Roth " Maximus ". Those people shouldn't be allowed to give anymore nicknames.
Thought "The Kraken" came from his celebration, which he himself called it "unleashing the Kraken", if I'm not mistaken.
I don't think Cam Wake had any part in the Kraken nick name. He had his celebration thing but I don't think Cam ever referred to it as anything. I believe Kraken was purely Chris Joseph and Roger Rimada at FinsNation.
the kraken, release the kraken was something i came up with because of his celebration, but its all good, seems silly to debate about.
