This article brings me some optimism. With over 77% of the vote saying he should play linebacker. I've seen at least three articles cleverly implement the Dion should play LB argument. This one is a straight up poll with over 1700 votes cast on behalf of Jordan playing LB. That's a pretty decent sample size.

I'm optimistic because I wasn't sure if most Dolphans really felt this way. I'm sure now...

Say what you will about coaching autonomy, but I don't think Gase or Joseph will turn a blind eye to upsetting the majority of the fanbase.

Just a reason for optimism in these cruel dog days of Summer.

I don't think that Jordan ever actually plays again, but if he does, than it should be at OLB. Thats where he should have been from the start, and he was misused at DE by the previous coaching staff.

No, but he's applied. I'm sure we'll here more as it progresses over the summer.

Giving him coverage responsibilities out of a defensive end position is a better fit than linebacker in this defense.

This defense isn't really going to commonly have linebackers on the edge of the formation. The outside linebacker positions in this defense are filling interior gaps or working through traffic in pursuit.

I'd vote on another team. If he stays in Miami, then Disgustipate's post speaks for me.

I like DE also, with some pass responsibilities.

But, I have serious doubts now about his actually coming back. I don't think he's in great condition, even if he's lost weight, and he'll need to have a lot of time to get into football shape, let alone be where he was coming out as a rookie.

At absolute best next year, I think he's a situational pass rusher. Who maybe by mid-season is in good enough shape. But, I have doubts he will carry through.

The fact is, this workout regimen is what he should have been doing last fall, not two months ago. I work with people with drug / motivation issues. And, it is often the case that someone will have a "come to Jesus" moment (figuratively speaking) that leads to a 3 month or sometimes 6 month turnaround and the excitement of change - but most of those wind up drifting back to their past habits when life becomes a daily grind.

I am rooting for Deion to change his life, as a human being, but I think it would be an epic turnaround were he to become a highly productive NFL player. I mean, he'd have book deals and accolades and be on a ton of talk shows - he'd be a star just from that. That would be great, but just saying that it is such a rarity.

It depends on the coaches vision and his commitment to his body..if the coaches see that this particular player moves best at 245 to 250 and he's committed to that goal then put him at linebacker..If he thinks that 260 is his range then play him at end.

He should always have been an OLB. I hope this coaching staff has a better plan then the last one.

He should play in a world where dumbasses are valuable assets.

Yeah, but Dion is way better than Chris McCain in space.
