There is some truth to that. You lose fans when you pull an unloyal move like this. He was locked up and management wasn't going to budge. Good for them. All the while we are installing a new defense. It pissed me off for sure. Play the deal you signed. He only hurt himself and looked foolish in the process. Actually I think it was the $25,000 lighter in one day reality....
I'm thinking he and Ross had a talk about his real concern over guaranteed money and Ross the Boss said he'll take care of it...followed by, "Now get the hell in there."
If it were the Heat I would be checking to see if Reshad Jones just signed a shoe deal with a company in China.
But, he chose not to do that ... I think he did see it was better for him to be at the mini camp with his team and that the hold out was not worth it - and injury was likely not an issue. Any more than it is with all the other players who have plenty of dough to burn on fines but choose to participate. Is it possible there was a word on a new deal? Maybe so or maybe he thought he'd have better leverage by returning and showing good faith.
Someone impressed upon him that the difference between skipping a voluntary OTA and a mandatory Mini Camp isn't JUST the $75k fine.
Are you implying Ross had a Mr. Han moment with Reshad?..."In the pro bowl or over a boiling cauldron of heroin, makes no difference to me Reshad." He was close to being infamous with the fans. He put himself between a bullet and a target, imo.
