Who knows what Whiteside or KD will do, but my understanding is that if they can trade McBob they could swing a Whiteside, Bosh, KD, Wade, Dragic, Winslow, Richardson, TJ roster without Wade taking a minimum deal. Neither Wade nor Whiteside could max things out, but they'd be reasonable deals (Whiteside about max in real money and Wade about $20/per).
So that should be a no-brainer, right? Unless the Heat have another business relationship in China to offer him.
Good luck, I'll take my chances with you guys giving that waste of talent a big contract over getting Durant any day of the week.
It might be $40m not $45 mil - he's in the 7-9 bracket. Thought it counted as year you signed contract so he was in 10+ bracket. And yeah depends if Hawks want to give him the 5th year. He'd be insane to turn that down as he's unlikely to make anywhere near $38-40 million at that point in his career
Dug LeBatard today. Swing big. Elite guys win titles. Riley plays for titles, not 3 seeds. You lose Whiteside chasing Durant, you sign Horford and you're in the same place as before. You didn't trust him anyway. Who's trying to lure Whiteside away from Miami? The bad teams with money. Not the contenders. - sent via Tapatalk -
Arent the Warriors interested? I thought Blazers were too. You put Whiteside in Portland and theyre now a significantly better team
Today...I have the aggregation of every report of the Heat being "interested" in a player: these are the players: Kevin Durant Demar DeRozan Hassan Whiteside Al Horford Pau Gasol Harrison Barnes Nic Batum Jamal Crawford Agents are so full of ****.
Oh yeah I meant to ask what the hell is with this rumor of interest in DeRozan. I mean, I like him a lot but isn't he supposed to be a Wade clone?

That part at the end with the "or a Blake Griffin trade" got me throwing my keyboard. What IS it with this goon and his Blake Griffin fellatio?
The Banana Boat crew is together again. They even have a custom banana boat snap chat filter It's gonna be one of those off seasons....
Could it make sense if you think of Wade as a guy that could play 1 through 3 and DeRozan as a guy that could play 2 through 4? Especially if they keep a rim protector like Whiteside around?
DeRozan is just an offensive player and he occupys the space on the floor where Wade/Bosh like to operate from and both of them are more efficient. DeRozan needs a volume of shots and most of them are midrange shots that make for a stagnant offense. I don't see it.
Did I ever tell the story where I wandered around a Heat practice and Chris Bosh mistook me for a coach? (I think I told CK)
Can you guys just sign some damn shooters. If I had to watch a Dragic-Wade-Derozan-Winslow-Whiteside lineup I'd cut my own eyes out. Speaking of - what happened to Dragic's shot?
His 3 pt. shot was busted this year, but it made a comeback in the playoffs where he shot 35%. He has shot better than that and must shoot better than that to justify his "stature" as a top 10 PG.
Is 35% where you hope / think it'll net out? Weird shooting career. 38% from 3 his first three years - only shot over 35% once since then - but that year he shot 41% on 300 attempts!
35% is slightly above the league average, so with the rest of his game, it would make him damn good. Kyrie was at 32% this year, but is 38% for his career, and we know how prolific he can be from three. Dragic is .355% for his career. So if he can do that, it would pay huge dividends for his game and the Heat.
Please share it!! That sounds hilarious. Like the plot of a Seinfeld episode... CB mistakes you for a coach, and the organization hires you on after you do well in your pretend role.
Per Stein, Sixers plan to present an offer sheet to Harrison Barnes on the first day of free agency. Could complicate Warriors Durant chase
This is why I'm not seeing a Dragic trade. I think we're far more likely to let Whiteside walk and try Horford and Durant while Whiteside gets painted as disloyal than we are to trade Dragic. I still think re-signing Whiteside and pursuing some lesser assets is the most likely course of action though. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
It has been really quiet. No rumblings of a McBob trade. Hopefully we have something ready to go if necessary
Bill Simmons also floating the idea of trading Justise Winslow for Blake Griffin which will give the Clippers cap room for Durant.
The Heat is tweeting a bunch of Wade stuff and he is off banana boating. No tension, no backhanded remarks, no snap chats with "***** better have my money " He has a $30 million cap hold that is holding us back more than anything else. I think they have a deal and it will be announced 12:01 Friday
I'm not saying I don't want to trade Dragic. I'm saying I don't think we could get away with it. Who knows, maybe Whiteside doesn't want to take less in Miami because he is privy to trade talks we've had about Dragic. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
He's not a sacred cow, he's the crux of our perception as a team that does right by players though. We swooped in and saved him from a ****ty situation in Phoenix, brought in his brother, gave him a lot of money, and made him feel like royalty. We would have a hard time rebuilding the good will we'd lose by trading him. Superstars wouldn't care and if it meant getting Durant, some would give us a pass. Lower level assets who are the glue for our rotations would be less likely to sign here for less money though. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
And he rewarded all of that by playing badly in the first half of the season and inconsistently in the playoffs.
