Alot of conflicting reports with Horford. It just hit me, what if he chose Boston at the last second because he got word that KD is choosing them??

Woj wants the last hour of his life back, embarrasing reporting by him. Just to be "first", dude you can be second sometimes too..

I think Horford choosing Boston has a lot more to do with Atlanta lowballing him, atlanta being on a treadmill, Brad Stevens and a young stud point guard that looked like a superstar in the playoffs.

Ainge isnt capble of big fish like Durant. He has to trade for them.

And according to Bobby Marks, Boston right now can't sign Durant.

They will have to dump a bunch of those "assets"

To the extent Woj can even be trusted on this story anymore, he just tweeted that KD was recruiting Horford to OKC but Horford refused without assurances that KD and Westbrook were staying long term

Horford roughly got 29 mil a year from boston, they had anout 54 mil in space. I think Durant would take the remaining 25, i dont think he is looking for Max considering the teams he is currently interested in.

If he couldn't beat GSW with a team stacked like OKC, I don't see Boston enticing him with just Horford. Westbrook is definitely better than Thomas, and OKC had a far superior frontcourt than Boston has now. KD would have to truly be done with OKC and feel that Brad Stevens is some God King coach to make that move. Avery Bradley is a better wing than the combo of Waiters and Roberson but not by enough to justify leaving. Moving Ibaka complicates prognostication simply because you can't say whether Durant viewed that favorably, but I don't think you can look at this current Boston team and think they're in a better place than OKC was.

They've done a nice job with their roster. Too bad they fired a good coach and replaced him with a mediocre one.

Indy should have gone after Deng not Gay. Going to bet Gay is going to get 4 years 72 million. Lets fce it Deng is the better player..

Now, Wade said he wasn't going to bother with free agency. Sure, we say it's a ploy, but he explicitly said he wasn't interested in free agency and I'm not as optimistic as you guys. If, say, Boston makes him a good offer that he's receptive to, they can show that to Durant. And if Durant is receptive to that reception, that could be a problem. I don't think there's another free agent out there that could go to Boston and entice Durant to follow so I only bring this up as essentially the only viable scenario I see that has a Durant to Boston move. We'd be ****ed in that case.

Honestly Durant Thomas and Horford is all you really need to beat cleveland lol cleveland has already lost two pieces on their bench and may lose JR Smith soon too.

Wade is coming back. I'll believe he's schleppingGabby and the kids to Milwaukee or Denver when I see him holding up a jersey (and even then I'll think it's a ploy)

Chris Broussard says Wade is absolutely disgusted with the Heat and several people close to him have told him not to return out of principle. Broussard says he thinks Wade will calm down and stay in Miami.

So Durant, Horford, and Thomas are enough, yet Curry, Thompson, Green, Igoudala, Barnes, and some Bogut weren't. We don't like Cleveland, I get it, but you're not even making sense. Mozgov was a non factor all season and I guess you mean Richard Jefferson? Really? Teague, Horford, Korver, and Millsap couldn't stop a sweep but those three are going to win a seven game series?

If true he can leave. We will go nuclear, and have a shot at Westbrook next year.

Dellavedova has left, Jefferson has left, dont dismiss Jefferson's contributions in the Finals he played very well, and JR Smith may leave too. Boston has a deep bench besides those 3 players. Yes they can beat the current Cavs team, a team that isnt looking for upgrades.

  19. CaribPhin

    CaribPhin Guest

Lol, Dellavedova? Am I imagining this conversation? Are you seriously saying that you think they'd be better than OKC? OKC couldn't beat the guys who the Cavs beat. Mozgov and Dellavedova were non factors all year. Until they lose Smith for sure, I'm not giving any ground. Besides, they'd still likely lose to OKC or San Antonio.

If I was the owner of the Clippers I'd offer Doc Rivers a raise and tell him to funnel it to his kid so we can save a roster spot.

I'm loving what the Rockets are doing. Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon both really good 3 point shooters and free throw shooters. Plus, they can get their own shots. That leaves us with just enough money to get one more shooter. I'm guessing Tyler Johnson since we already had the meeting.

Help is on the way, Harden.

Boston signing Horford despite not having enough for Durant sounds like sour grapes. "We're not getting this guy, take away his binkie."

Boston needed to make a move or their fanbase was going to be calling for Ainge's head. Horford is actually exactly the type of vet they need there. It looks like teams know what Durant is going to do right about now.

    Nobody noticing the pattern here?

First everyone going ape **** because Durant's meeting with Golden State goes over time, three or more hours, and people are like damn he is going to join the Dubs. Then he is "blown away" by the Clippers, Ballmer cried, they all cried together or some weird **** like that. Now the Celtics are on the verge of signing him because they pulled out Tom Brady and are about to sign the guy KD supposedly wanted to be his center.

Basically every team that meets with KD is walking away thinking that's it, we had the selling pitch, we did it. Except he goes om to meet with some other team who walks away thinking that's it, we had the selling pitch, etc.

But only one team is getting the last word.

LeBron I'm sure is in Wade's ear about how Riley treated him on the way out. Wade sacrifices this year with Melo in Ny....Rose has a bounce back year and Clippers trade Paul to Knicks to salvage SOMETHING for him, while Lebron after his 2nd consecutive ring in Cleveland decides to take the league min. And reunite with this buddies and dominate the league for 2-3 years and all walk out together.

    You heard it here first

Soon as I heard "blown away" after the Dubs meeting, you knew we'd hear it after every meeting. I'd think that's coming from Durant's side and there's no reason for them not to. This time of year it's all pretty much all agent-fed info.

Tomorrow afternoon we'll hear that the legend is true and Riley knocked his socks off. But this time it will really be true because Pat F***ing Riley.

Riley has to sell Durant as being the face of the franchise. I think that is most important to him. His situation with Westbrook sometimes looks uncomfortable, to the point hes called Westbrook the best player on the team multiple times. Lots of crunch time moments where Durant does not touch the ball.

In Boston he gets that opportunity to be the guy. I dont think he goes to Golden State.

  40. CaribPhin

    CaribPhin Guest

They ****ed up. Traded Ibaka, his friend, and couldn't replace him with Horford. Tbh, I think that overreaction helped other teams more than it helped OKC. He may yet re-sign, but I don't see it being long term. If he goes back, he'll want to see how they gel and that is looking more like a 1+1 at best.
