Yeah it is starting to sound like this was planned.

I was thinking about this during work all day, and there is much more to come than 2 years 47 million. His brand expands to a whole new market as a chicago bull. New jersey, he doesnt get money off those but he does get money in many ways just by using a new jersey. There will be a lot of different endorsements to come to him. Hes going to be one of the highest endorsed players next year, even more so than last where he made 18 million in endorsements. Chicago is the third biggest market.

btw I don't really follow anyone on twitter except betting handicappers, but I wanted to see if Section had any reaction to Wade's departure. Reading his tweets basically e-raping the LYFE brand owner, who is a business associate of Wade had me laughing all night.

I wonder if the LYFE brand owner is considering his offer, section offered to buy his company for 500.00.. lol

Right, but there's a very big difference in Miami keeping him out and the doctors keeping him out.

But that's not what we were debating. If the doctors do not feel it is a good idea medically, then he obviously shouldn't come back regardless of what happened with Wade. You made the point that the Heat are rebuilding and that is why they shouldn't let him back. That's very different.

They shouldn't let him back because he is a health risk from now until eternity. Otherwise he would fit in here nicely, contract and all.

Well if he expected them to go on their knees that's not going to happen. I think the personal meeting Mickey gave him should be more than enough.

Why, though, if it wasn't true? I understand why he left, and I don't have any problem with it. And as of right now, he's been nothing but professional about it publicly. He's already released several statements saying nothing but good things about everyone involved.

Super small sample and lots of noise, but last 2 yrs Bosh has a NetRtg w McBob of +12.6 & +9.8 vs +2.1 and +1.0 with Whiteside.

In his entire tenure he was NEVER the highest paid (per year) player on the Heat!?

Cant blame him a bit for feeling this way, can't blame the Heat for being ready to rebuild with a younger roster.

Nobody really did anything unjustifiable here.

well we traded for Jermaine O'Neal's contract that had 2 years left, which was a huge expiring we needed to get rid of Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks off the books in time for 2010... and I cant name someone that was paid higher than Shaq when Shaq was in his prime. And Lebron was paid higher than Wade for obvious reasons..

    Marion's salary was 17.8 million at 2008-2009.. Jermaine's was near 20 million.

Let's not pretend we were paying a bunch of scrubs more than Wade on purpose, we didn't write these contracts (well O'Neal was a scrub 100000 times over in the playoffs for us).

Don't let Stephen A Smith influence your judgment about how we never paid Wade more than anyone, you have to look at the contracts (Marion, Jermaine) and the key players (Shaq, Lebron, Bosh).

True on the Marion and O'Neal contracts (both). More importantly, the Jermaine and Marion contracts were specifically here to clear room for 2010. I have no doubt the Heat valued Wade much more than those 2 guys.

yep, Jermaine and Marion were bad contracts written by the Suns and Pacers.. we didn't purposely pay Wade more than those two guys lol..

Now is Shaq worth more than Wade, is Lebron worth more than Wade? Majority would say yes. The one guy that you can make an argument for that should be paid less is Bosh.. just one guy... and the difference between Bosh and Wade's salary is minimal..

Sloppy summer league game thus far against the Pistons.

Rodney McGruder putting on a nice display though, with a 3 year contract being finalized as we speak. He's got 6 of the Heat's 8 first quarter points on 3 of 4 shooting (missed a 3 pointer). Had to play D on Stanley Johnson and did alright except for one post-up where the 205 pounder just couldn't stand up to the 245 pound Johnson who elbowed him into the restricted area and promptly missed the shot (which is very Stanley Johnson).

Winslow and Richardson first real chink in the armor this quarter. Very sloppy. Briante Weber no better.

Right now what I'm thinking with the Heat's summer league and developmental guys are:

Jarnell Stokes - Immediate roster material (can't offer until December but can try and scare away suitors with informal guarantees)
Rodney McGruder - Immediate roster material
Briante Weber - Immediate roster material
Michael Carrera - Sioux Falls D-League
Stefan Jankovic - Sioux Falls D-League

Jarnell Stokes isn't on the Heat summer league roster. He's going to play for San Antonio. He's been in Sioux Falls and the Heat had him on roster via trade at one point but then I think they traded him away. Then he got cut I think, and so now they can't sign him back until December as I'm told. He was the Finals MVP at Sioux Falls this year and pretty much projected by the NBA D-League stat site to be the best NBA player from the D-League. I just love his strength, the way he moves, the different ways he can finish at the rim, and he's clearly also a rebounding specialist. I've been told the Heat could scare off suitors who would naturally only want to guarantee one year, or maybe only partially guarantee one year, by promising him that they'd guarantee two years if he waits until December and signs back with the Heat.

McGruder can play 1 through 3 but has to be careful when plugged on defense against the bigger bodies. He has a valid 3 point shot, most notable for its quick mechanics and lack of wasted motion. Time will tell if it's high percentage at the NBA level. In D-League and at K-State it was high percentage, but that's subject to translation. He plays with intelligence. He's an early and decisive passer that keeps the ball flowing. He plays with speed, with and without the ball, and his defensive activity is very good. Good hands, all the way around, which he uses on defense and at the rim. Above average finisher under the basket. Good jumping skills, also helps him be a good finisher. Surprising good handle, seems comfortable running the offense, if a little inexperienced at it. Only average getting around picks. Might be able to create in isolation.

Briante Weber I pick on because he seems to turn the ball over a lot and has limited offensive capabilities, but his quickness is superb and he's an excellent defender. His steal rate could be special. And he can run the offense, facilitate to other scorers. You don't need him to be perfect and I think other teams are onto him so you want to keep him around especially knowing he can function well on defense against quicker types and turn around and facilitate on offense.

Michael Carrera has just been impressive to me with his defensive capabilities and overall activity. It's like he's everywhere at once on defense. And he's strong, built stout, with long arms and good frame. He's reminding me of a Shane Battier type. The key for him will be developing his three point shot. He had one in college, and he's done it in summer league I think, so the next step to me would be showing it in Sioux Falls. Then he could make his case for being a 3-and-D guy.

Stefan Jankovic to me is pure offense. He's tall and big at 6'11" and 235 lbs but his defense and rim presence are non-existent and I wouldn't accuse him of being much of a rebounder either. It's like watching a Chris Bosh who doesn't play defense or rebound that well. Similar offensive style and abilities as Bosh. You could bring him to Sioux Falls and start trying to fill some holes in his game, or just make him so good on offense that he's like a Boozer type.

For anyone that cares, Miami Heat Store in Dolphin Mall and all other locations will be having a clearance sale tomorrow for Wade merchandise, $13.00 (13 years) on all Dwyane Wade merchandise.

Miami Heat are saying it's a way to remember Wade and so on and so forth, but let's be real, it's the low key clearance sale we've been expecting on Wade merchandise.

Why this is happened with Lebron and Wade now. Even with Bosh the Heat had to add the 5th year. Whiteside did resign but is it really out of the realm of possibility that Riley pissed off Wade and Lebron?

Listening to Stephen A Smith, apparently he has been talking to Wade, he said on first take this morning that the Heat gave Whiteside a max contract despite being late for practice about 40 times last season alone (and he makes it sound like he got this information from Wade himself as to say this is one of many ways the Heat disrespected Wade, giving a max contract to a guy that never shows up on time instead of Wade).

I just find strange that all of a sudden "late about 40 times" is being said about Hassan to defend Wade. That definitely is something he got from Wade or Wade's camp, which is basically Wade.

Hassan seems like he's matured quite a bit as a teammate. Not to mention that if he was such a problem I don't think we would have resigned him. Have to think someone like UD wouldn't praise Whiteside and call him his brother with a ****ty work ethic.

Ethan was saying today that he expects the Bosh situation to get even uglier than the Wade situation, based on what he'd heard the last 24 hours.

The level of distrust from the Bosh camp is supposedly very high.

As for Whiteside, what Smith is saying jokes with what Ethan was saying on Wednesday. Wade and Udonis really had to babysit him. Safe to say he wasn't on board with coming off the bench.

Bosh situation is going to be a mess. Miami will need to be careful because a beef with the NBAPA could inhibit their ability to land superstars in FA.

Its going to be an ugly divorce between the Heat and Bosh.

I'm scared of Whiteside. Great player but I wouldn't want to see his bad side. If the Heat are a mess next season, or even normal growing pains, I fear a lack of interest and malcontent.

The Bosh situation seems pretty simple to me. If he's on blood thinners or if a doctor says he should be on blood thinners he is not going to play and no team doctor for any of the 29 other teams would clear him. The PA can do what they want but it won't matter

If he's not on blood thinners and the doctors say he can stay off and not be at risk for a recurrence then he can play

The only ugliness will come if Bosh wants to play against medical advice. I side completely with Heat on that one.
