I'm shocked that's your opinion. Then again, you had the Heat Big 3 as the Washington Redskins and total failures. The very next week after you post, they began a 21 of 22 win streak and then went to 4 finals and won 2.

    So keep them coming.

    Without Bosh...they are near .500..

With Bosh, they can duplicate last season's win total, but will not have the same playoff success or be as much of a playoff threat to the top seed.

Heat got two of their top targets for this FA period in Willie Reed and Ellington (overpaid for Ellington). The Willie Reed (my fav) signing is a feather in Riley's cap since he was competing with really good teams include the Dubs for his services.

The Heat now have these guys as career above average three point shooters:

    Dragic
    J-Rich
    TJ
    Ellington
    Babbit
    Bosh

That is damn good. Babbit and Ellington are among the very best 3 pt. shooters in the NBA and offer versatility.

They are gonna put up a ton of 3 pt. shots next year. Spo gets them to play defense (always does), we are in for a fun year.

Williams, and James Johnson are athletic run the court types, so it's obvious what style of play they will employ.

So you're saying Riley is actually a pretty good recruiter and might actually be able to land players without Wade?

My hope for this team is to be something like the 2003-2004 team with rookie Wade, Odom, Grant, and Butler. That team was so much fun.

    that is about right.

Safe side...42-40 but fun...with Bosh, I REALLY think they can approach last year's win total. The issue like I said, is gonna come in the playoffs. You win down the stretch with a playmaker in the playoffs. Teams rarely out-execute each other.

I think that's oversimplification and hyperbole on his part. And I wouldn't be surprised if they trade Dragic and show that it's just plain inaccurate.

Nice hyperbole ole fella. I had them pegged as failures? Yet, I predicted the big three would win two titles. Guess how many they won? I also have been a lot closer on the Heat record prediction than you have post Lebron.

If I recall YOU said any less than 3 titles and the big three would be deemed a disappointment. You obviously have retracted that statement and rightfully so. They were very good in the Bron era.

I don't see how Bosh is able to play under that condition, so again 38 wins it is for me.

Is it crazy to imagine Hassan Whiteside playing a little power forward while Willie Reed comes in his place at center?

You know I have to say summer league really can be valuable for evaluation purposes. Just pouring over some of our old notes on guys like Josh Richardson, Justise Winslow, Willie Reed, James Ennis, Tyler Johnson, etc...what we saw in Summer League really was what they have become.

Section and I were both gushing over Willie Reed and I still can't believe the Heat let him get away. At the time I just had to throw my hands up and say you can only find a Hassan Whiteside so many times, meaning we already had Whiteside so that leaves not much room for Willie, but in reality they never should've let him get away and he's going to be a great addition here.

As for Josh Richardson, it was all there. The surprising defender he became, that was in summer league. His having a far better three point shot than you'd have thought, that showed in summer league. His length, elevation, handles, etc...all summer league. He was kind of the Legedu Naanee "no holes in his game" guy, but in a good way.

Tyler Johnson, when did he start to make sense? Summer league, when the put him at point guard. That's when he became the player that could pull the kind of contract he could get. That's when he became a guy that you really could compare to a poor man's Russell Westbrook. Before that he was a shooting guard whose specialty was attacking the rim...at 6'2". And before he'd developed a three point shot. It just didn't make sense. As a point guard in summer league, you could see it.

Even go back to a guy like Ian Clark. Where did he show out? Summer league, and we noted it.

Now that said there's usually a white sharp shooter I fall for every year because I love three pointers and I've thought forever the Heat were missing that. Tyler Kalinoski, now David Walker, etc. As far as those guys go, Walker's the best of them because he's taller, lengthier and has a fuller game, but he's also a rookie and prone to going ice cold for stretches.

I think Victor Rudd is the next of the guys the Heat let get away that end up showing out pretty well elsewhere. That would be a shame.

First of all, I said 3 titles in the 6 years they signed here. Bron was here for 4. So they MET their expectation.

Second of all, it is virtually impossible for you to be closer than me on record prediction Post LeBron. I predicted ON HERE, ON MY SHOW, and on TWITTER, 47 wins. They won 48. I did it based on my Win Share analysis I do every year to bet totals. I had them at 45 the year before, but they had stigmata hit them, and probably would have gotten that 45 for that matter.

THIRD of all, you ABSOLUTELY had them as failures early on in 2010, and they Absolutely followed your "Hot Take" with a 21 of 22 win streak. Trust me, it is hard to forget such a Cold Take. it was an ALL-TIMER. It was glorious.

Did a little research. Guess Fin-O has some splainin' to do. My favorite part of the thread is the following, where LeBron superfan #1 (after he left Miami, that is) calls his favorite player "LeFraud".

    Here is the thread:

Unless Fin-O and Fin-Omenal are different people?

    Great job Matlock.

It's common knowledge I was anti-Lebron/ Heat after he left.

It was in the finals of the second title I was tired of a guy who does all the right things on and off the court getting so much HATE nationwide. His humbleness won me back over.....and when he went out of his way to acknowledge that kid in Cleveland who ran on the court?? I had a feeling in 2014 he was coming home to my home state.

He's the best player in the league by far, and still is the most hated.

It was a comparison of how "stacking" FA failed in the NFL. To that point we had never seen a SUPER TEAM formed via FA of 3 top players in their prime. They came out of the gate struggling.....I wondered if it would work. It did and it didn't. They came together very quickly, but still lost to freakin Dallas in the finals.

Remember, when you go that route to get a title ala Kevin Durant....anything less than a championship? You failed that season.

If you recall it was a question and comparison not a freakin prediction.

By the way, how's that LeBron is declining the minute he left Miami theory working out? Just put together the best individual performance in NBA finals history, all while making history being down 3-1 vs "best team ever" all the while bringing a title to a city who had not had one in 50+ years?

    Yea, he's really fell off.

Oh That one? It's going perfectly. There are these things online that compile statistics called NBA internet stat sites, and they even break down a players play from everywhere on the court, and guess what? Those things back up what I predicted. it is right there in print, unless you think I am doctoring or rigging those sites including NBA.com

Just another prediction that I got right. I'll take the 200 games or so he has played since he left Miami as my sample..you go ahead and take the final 3 games of the finals as yours.

    I win, again.

Siovaughn Wade already haunting Wade in Chicago, is getting her lawyers ready and wants a new divorce settlement due to his new contract. There's more to come now that he's in Chicago, child custody cases, etc. More face to face visits with her.

So this is the synopsis? You hated him for no reason for three years, called him a fraud when it was unwarranted, and then realized what Heat fans had been saying about him was true, and came around only when you felt he was coming back to your state? :tongue2:

You are struggling with the comprehension. I've been honest no matter how it has made me look. I didn't like the way he left or the fact he formed a super team. Has NOT A DAMN thing to do with "what Heat fans always said"?? (Where did that crap come from).

And once again, unless that kid in Cleveland ran onto the court after Lebron beat the Spurs in the finals then you didn't comprehend what I was telling you.

Which part am I struggling with? You thought he was a fraud, but then realized he was genuine, and that he didn't warrant the hate he constantly got. This is something Heat fans had been arguing since he left Cleveland. You then said when that kid ran on the court you thought that he would be coming back to Ohio. You also said that was when you realized he was genuine. Did I miss something?

Also, you didn't like that he formed a super team, but you're ok with him forming one in Cleveland?

They are not "MY STATS". they are just "THE STATS". You can look them up if you want, in fact ignore advanced metrics. Just use good ole counting stats. he is down across the board.

It's called "aging'. As for his jump shot, I don;t know why that is broken though.

Of course, with Duncan retiring via a press release, now we hear everyone saying how Duncan does everything the right way opposed to Kobe who had to have his retirement tour. Now, Duncan has earned the right to retire however he would like. But I don't agree with people using it to knock Kobe. I'm far from a Kobe fan, but I'd actually prefer the farewell tour. I thought it was fun.
