Its really sad that even with brady having a 4 game suspension the Pats according to every website I have seen are favorites without question to win division. I can't stomach another year of these ****ers winning it again. The flip side is they all have us winning 5-7 games.I haven't even found one that has us at 8-8.Before u say they don't know what they are talking about they have been right for the last 7 years. I still have this slight hope gase turns out to be the next whiz kid and finally earn some respect.
I don't understand why almost every publication has us winning 5 or fewer games either. The team has won 6-8 seven years in a row. Its fair for a national publication to say that the team will be mediocre again, fine, but 3-5 wins? I just don't see it. BTW, the Jets early schedule is the most brutal in the league. I see them starting 2-5 or worse. The currently are looking to start Geno Smith at QB. And yet all of these same people have them winning 9-10 games, even though they really overachieved last season, IMO.
I think they're just being lazy and comparing our 2015 record to those of our opponents. We were 6-10 last year, and precisely 5 games we play in 2016 are against teams with worse 2015 records: Titans, Chargers, Ravens, 49ers, Browns. I guess a few who want to be bold will predict we'll beat the 7-9 Rams and maybe once the 8-8 Bills, giving you that 5-7 range pumpdogs was talking about.
I just hate the fact the Pats are always given the division in the offseason and they are always right. How can any team in any sport dominate this long? Pats fans are so arrogant it makes me sick.We need.to reclaim our glory. I pray to the football gods everynight please let gase be the chosen one.I can't take anymore dissapointing sundays.
I don't get it either. I was listening to sirius xm NFL channel, and they were talking about the 3 Florida teams. I don't remember who it was, maybe Jim Miller, but they said Miami was a train wreck in comparison to the other two I had to change the channel.
Looking at the schedule its easy to see how we might only win 4 or 5 games. Could easily start 0-4 with 3 road games against elite teams. But lets give us a win here for 1-3 Then we have a relatively easy 4 game stretch, probly go 2-2 here. Then we have another brutal 4 game stretch where we could easily go 0-4 again. And from there we'll be lucky to win 2 games for the final 4 game stretch. Lets be generous again and say 2-2. Add it up and thats 5-11. If Gase is an elite coach all of that could change but thats how I see it if he's average.
Brady turns 39 in August. Not even he can beat Father Time. So while everything points to NE winning the division again this year, this can't continue for too many more years. Hey, at least we get to see Garoppolo for 4 games. Maybe he'll show there's some light at the end of the tunnel (for us!). But yeah you're right.. Gase better be the right choice or none of that matters.
If tannehill learns how to make some plays that are outside the framework of the offense and he gets that he's allowed to help the team win, instead of just distributing the ball like a robot then we can win 10 games.
Kind of shows how much Brady really means to that offense. Is he the best QB on the team? By far. Will the Pats still win the division without him? Yes. The Pats (and cheating) made Brady. Not the other way around.
Until proven otherwise, we are a team that finds a way to bungle our way 6(+/-1) win season. That's the underlying rationale they are using to arrive at these predictions. The reasons they offer on top of that is just to justify their pay check. For fans, there is always reason for hope. For everyone else, they won't believe anything other than what they've seen year in year out. I'm sick of it too. I hope for better, but gun to my head, I'd predict 5-11 too. After years of off season predictions, only to be broken hearted at the end of the season, here's my prediction for this season... We will win some games we are supposed to... We will win some games we aren't supposed to... We will lose some games we are supposed to... We will lose some games we aren't supposed to... On Sunday nights/Monday mornings, fans will be cursing the coaching staff and calling for Tannehill's job... On Sunday nights/Monday mornings, fans will be praising the coaching staff and heralding Tannehill's performance... Sound pretty accurate guys?
There are some things going for us that could put us over the top: - I think Bowles is overrated and the Jets are going to take a huge step back this season - The Ryans in Buffalo is just a bizarre situation, who knows how that is going to play out but it certainly could be an epic disaster - maybe this is the year Brady falls off a cliff like Manning did. Maybe Garapollo plays well enough and Brady plays ****ty enough that the lockerroom tears itself apart. - Jeff Fisher, Mike McCoy, Mike Munchack are all on borrowed time to say the least. And then there are a lot of unknowns at the QB position of some of out opponents (Patriots, Bills, Jets, Browns, 49ers, Titans, Rams). So on the high side, even if Gase is not elite I could see us winning 10 games. Every blue moon a team seemingly comes out of nowhere and breaks loose of the shackles of being a doomed franchise to become one of the darlings of the league. When I read the tea leaves my bold prediction is that team will be..... The Cleveland Browns Of all the coaching hires I think Hue is the likeliest to succeed. Their QB situation is not ideal right now but there are options out there on other teams with huge upside like Foles, Mettenberger or McCarron.
Say if Pats start 1-3, who says Brady can just pick up right where he leaves off. They could have 6 losses. Aren't we close, with a team 3-4 wins better than last year?
http://nflplayoffpredictor.com/?L=Aw18ZXTt-DFOS1b0ckA You can use this website to go through every week of the season and pick the games. I think that somewhere between 7-9 & 9-7 for Miami, and second place seems fair. The Jets could go 4-12, IMO.
totally agree. I mean you can't go 1-5 in your division and still expect to even sniff the playoffs. In addition is winning at home. Let's go 7-1 at home and 4-2 in the division and see where that gets us.
I'm more worried about the defense, personally. If the offense, especially the line, stay healthy, I expect us to put up a decent amount of points. I just don't know what to expect from the linebackers and the secondary. Though I do have a lot of confidence in Vance Joseph.
Well, there is going to have to be alot of magic to get us to a winning record this season. They're saying all the right things and trying to pump everyone up, but that's just business as usual this time of year. If the oline really improves and we avoid significant injuries there, If Tannehill really shines under Gases coaching, If Kiko Alonzo returns to his rookie form and is finally healthy, If Maxwell and whomever turn into competent Corners, If we have a competent player alongside Jones at Safety, If Gase turns out to be a capable head coach ------ I think we can go 9-7, but that is a whole heck of alot of ifs. I still have to see it before I'm buying anything this year.
