MADDEN 09 Master Thread MERGED x 15 (renamed too lol)

i noticed a huge graphic difference between NCAA09 and Madden 08, since I've been playing both recently. control seemed tighter too. hopefully madden 09 takes it a step further.

I would say XBL from my own point of view and from what I've heard but others would be able to give a better view on PSN. Having the ability to DL patches/fixes and roster updates is so much better. As for playing other peeps it's best to get a friends list from here and then play people you know - me personally am useless online so if you do get on you'll get 1 chance at winning!

 

Didn't play too much, just a couple of games. I'm a PS3 head, but my boy downloaded it for the 360. First off, let me just say that I am a former EA Sports fan boy who absolutely despises EA for their 110% next gen failure. NBA Live 07 & 08 = horrible. Madden 07 & 08 = horrible. However, Madden 09 is easily the best next gen sports game I've played outside of NBA 2k7 (2k8 was alright). After I get my own copy on Monday and get deep into the franchise mode, I already sense that this game is going to end up in the 8-9/10 range overall. The game play and graphics are a HUGE step up. No more of that robotic feel. It actually feels like football.......

By the way, Ronnie Brown is a beast.

 

sweet! great news! I haven't been this hyped for a Madden game in a while. Tuesday can't come soon enough!!! I think i just may call in sick...

 

I got Madden yesterday for $40. I was at my house working out when my Bro calls me and tells me there is a guy selling madden at this barber shop, so i went down there bought my copy and i have been hook'd ever since.

My 1st impression is that this madden is the most sim lik madden i have ever play'd, its actually hard to score on the cpu this year. Miami is bad in this game after the roster updates we are left with one(Ronnie) 90+ player on the entire roster, thats the least of any team even the Falcon have 3.

 

Was it a bootleg copy? I mean he's selling it at a barbershop lol.

Also, I heard a lot of people have scored the game early at 7-11.

 

What barbershop was it? I might have heard of it?

 

My Collector's edition just shipped today from Amazon.

not liking the complaints about progression

 

Yeah. I have my doubts about buying this game...

 

There is supposedly progression during the season, I thought I read that.

 

So he really looked at all other teams to verify that none had any sort of progression? I mean I read through the thread, but perhaps the reason why it was always the same progression was because he was simming everything. Maybe if he played out two full seasons the progression would be different. Who knows?

 

If you import a draft class from NCAA 09 and edit the player(s) selected, i.e. equipment or jersey number, then that player will never progress throughout the franchise. That along with everything else, progression seems to be the only down fall this year, and that's a huge blow. Is it possible for a patch to fix this?

 

I hate how editing a player screws everything it up. Annoys the crap out of me to see lineman wearing #1 or something.

 

Yeah.. jersey numbers alone will force me to use Madden's fake draft classes.

I'm not playing with #5 Michael Crabtree.

 

You still get the occasional OL/DL wearing ridiculous #s too in the fake draft.

 

Sorry I've been absent. I didn't play too much Madden since I've gotten it. I guess I just don't like the game. Meh.

I finally found Head Coach 09. It's a whole separate disc (go figure). Make a thread on it soon.

You could always change his # if he winds up on your team.

 

They don't have the 20th anniversary collectors addition for PS2? I only see the original Madden 09 for $39.99 for PS2.
