My issue with Curry has always been his finishing ability at the rim. I would just dare him to go at the rim, blitz him and dare him to attack.

If im Kerr im making Curry watch tape of Tony Parker's prime. I mean they both have similar athletic ability, and Curry is still young enough to learn and improve. He needs to finish at the rim better and not be shy of contact.

He would literally be unstoppable offensively.

    All of that is GREAT.

except the part when you read that it was Kevin Love doing it. Would have been 1000% better if Kyrie or Bron did it.

Curry finishes at a high rate at the rim - but he seems really reluctant to go there a lot. You saw in the Finals there were times Curry / Klay had wide open looks at the rim but ran back to the 3pt line for a contested shot, instead. Threes almost seemed to become a crutch for that team when they didn't need to be.

(To be clear - I'm not doing the "A JUMP SHOOTING TEAM CAN'T WIN A TITLE" thing. Just thought they were taking bad shots over good shots at times.)

Still hilarious the first-ever unanimous MVP lost a 3-1 lead in the Finals cuz he couldn't shake damn Kevin Love.

I'll never get sick of talking about that game.

Curry just isnt mentally tough yet. As soon as he faced adversity he folded.

Love was guarding him on that final shot, and actually guarded him well. Might be the highlight of his series as sad as it would be.

Supposedly Nerlens Noel removed his profile pic and cover pic of Philly and has been tweeting about Boston. Doubt it means anything but random trade rumors are fuuuuuuuuun.

Cavs just signed LeBron James - the best free agent on the market. Really makes Golden State's offseason look small in comparison.

Love appeared to embrace his role in that game 7...he was a key reason they were able to battle all game. I had not seen him fight for boards like that ever...props to him for truly caring about winning 1st and being a shooter second.

Knicks open at Cleveland again? ****ty they have to start the season off like that for the 2nd time in the last 3 years. (I know it was a W before)

22 primetime games up from 7 a year ago, Knicks have a shot to be a force in the East.

He just got married and is on his honeymoon - but the fact that LeBron called for the team to sign him in his video yesterday means they are still haggling.

I enjoy that with Tristan last year and JR this year - the Cavs are only negotiating against themselves and somehow still losing.

Eh tristans deal seems pretty fair now that his role is solidified and in comparison to what other defensive Cs are getting. JR Smith tho, if they sign him at anything over 10 million would be outbidding themselves. No one wanted to touch that guy in free agency for that amount even tho 10m seems fair for his skillset

Eh its still playing basketball in New York City, as bad as the knicks are there are worse places to live than NYC. I can see your point (sports247) if you said the Bucks.. They got Larry Sanders to retire. Lol

Honestly though as bad as the Knicks have been, it pales in comparison to the Nets. You want to talk about torture, imagine playing for a team with zero future and probably shouldnt exist in the NBA... Id beg to be a Sixer or any other team than to stay in the nets.

That was said tongue-in-cheek just to rib Fin-O a little bit. Melo decided to go for the money and endorsements, and the city. That's his decision and he's entitled to it.

well would you trust Phil Jackson to do the job or Gar Forman? And not for nothing, would you trust James Dolan to keep the wallet open or the notoriously cheap Bulls?

In all seriousness this type of logic befuddles me a bit. It's not like he passed up going to the Spurs or Heat (yeah I said it) where you have Popovich + RC Buford and Spo + Riley and some of the best run organizations in the league. He passed up going to the Bulls behind a ball dominant PG where he would have been 2nd fiddle to an inferior player coming off a serious injury and a frequently hurt center both of whom he's now saddled with anyway.

He doesn't seem to care about being on a winning team. He's a stat sheet player but his teams never win. I thought he was kind of a douche to Jeremy Lin too. I'm sure he's a cool guy to hang out with though.

I think he had some other opportunities after he opted out in 2014 if he were open to taking less. Even the Bulls, I think, would have given him a better chance to win. Nothing was guaranteed, but things looked pretty bleak in New York at the time and he still stayed. I'm not trying to say it is some kind of black mark on his character or anything. He made a decision that lots of people make in many different fields. I don't think anyone can necessarily blame him for doing so. But I do think he chose the money and the city over the potential to win.

You realize how much of a cant win situation that is for Melo right? Either hes labeled as a guy who doesnt know what he wants like Dwight Howard was after Melo forced the deal to NY or hes labeled as a guy who is only after the money. How about hes an elite player (top 10 imo but top 20 on any list) who showed a degree of loyalty whether it was incentivized by a few extra bucks or not?

Again, I'm not really being critical here. He made his decision, and I'm not faulting him for it. Maybe it way loyalty, maybe it was financially driven. Either way, that was his choice.

One thing, I have always wondered about is what would have happened if the Pistons took him instead of Darko. That was a championship contending team already. With Melo, they could have won more, giving him a very different reputation, and he may very well still be the face of that organization.

I definitely agree with you on that Pistons part. Two things about that Detroit team were very unique:
    1) They are the only team to win a championship in the NBA without a HOF worthy player in the last 40 years. Some people will argue for Billups (Wasn't elite for a long enough time IMO), Sheed (Too inconsistent) and Ben Wallace (Dominant on one end, basically useless at the other end) but I really don't see a legit argument for any.
    2) They are the only team I can recall where all 5 members of their starting 5 made an all star team the year before, year of or year after they won their title.

You have to wonder if either of those happens if they draft Carmelo. They'd have a HOFER but you have to wonder if it would have adversely affected the uniqueness of that team.

Why would what Stephen A. has to say have anything to do with my opinion about Melo? I'm not saying the guy is a bum but his career has been very disappointing and I don't think he really cares that much about winning to be honest. Its ok, it doesn't make him a terrible human being but he's kind of a jackass.

He's had a HOF career...what is disappointing? Not every great player wins a championship. I wouldn't say Karl Malone or Charles Barkley had disappointing careers.

Oh. So you know Melo on a personal level it seems. "Very" disappointing? That's extreme. Winning a National title and 3 gold medals is nothing to be called disappointing.

Doesn't care about winning....really? Why? What makes you believe that? Should he have opted out and ran to GS this year? Would that have been some sign he wanted to win?

    Stop

Eh, carmelo left a team that was a year removed from the WCF for the comfort of playing at home and has done nothing in NY.
