I mean, how many of us are unable to see the game tonight, but would be willing to pay to do so? I know I am... ANd I'm sure I am not the only one.

Seems really dumb to me they don't have a way of tapping us hard core fans for some more revenue....

That said... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Miami football is 2 hours away!

seriously. you'd think the NFL (who'd pimp its own mother to increase revenues) would find a way to squeeze money out of the public.

i have the NFL Sunday ticket which i think should include preseason games. I'm paying all this money for every NFL game, but can't get preseason? they have the channels allotted already, and there will be TV crews there. why not just air it on the ticket?

Could have something to do with the fact that this is gonna be televised by the local cbs channel? I don't think they are owned by CBS too.

Idk, it should be televised though.

Me too. The NFL is a rip off. NFL Sunday ticket should HAVE to include preseason. Im surprised they haven't come up with a way to purchase it is an extra option. the sad thing is I would probably pay the extra just because I can't get enough of any and all Dolphins football

most of the people on this board don't live in SoFla, FYI.

so yeah, the local channel argument doesn't help those of us who are complaining.

I'm in the same boat. It doesn't make sense that I'm paying like $300 and don't get to watch football until September.

I think the ticket should not only include the preseason games, but the HD feeds of the postseason games as well. Since I've got DirecTV my locals aren't offered in HD, which means I spend the playoffs watching in standard definition. :pity:

I live in NW Florida (Commonly mistaken as Southern Alabama) and still dont get to see a game that features 2 of 3 teams in the state...

The NFL should do something like MLB.tv, but they won't; there's too much advertising revenue tied up in local affiliates that navigating the obstacles isn't worth the reward.

Now, when those broadcast contracts come up for renewal, I'm sure this will become an issue.

It's not one, it's four. One for CBS, one for NBC, one for Fox, one for ABC/ESPN. The NFL is going to have to insert a provision about Internet broadcasting of each company's stream, and you can bet the companies will want the rights to sell their own ads and a percentage of the NFL's revenue from subscriptions.

And now that I think about it, DirecTV will throw a hissy fit because of Sunday Ticket.

I understand your frustration Texas, but even MLB doesn't show Spring Training games on MLB.TV. They do provide replay for all exhibition games not on NBC, ESPN or NFLN....just not live of course.

Yes they do! I have watched preseason baseball each year, and the regular season MOSAIC 6-games at one time is a thing of beauty!

I know MLB.com shows several preseason games for FREE to drum up interest in the regular-season product.

Well if you are like me and have cable, chances are good that you don't get NFLN, so there is still PLENTY to complain about.

  17. Same boat, different city bro. I even petitioned DirecTV to get the East Coast network feeds & I was denied. I'm willing to pay extra $$ to get the network feeds so that I can watch the playoffs & Superbowl in HD, & they tell me no, we don't want your money. Sucks.

If the do start showing preseason games on the Ticket, I don't think it'll come until the NFL and the remaining cable companies come to an agreement on the NFL Network issue.

Right now, NFLN is the only way non-locals can see preseason games. Just one more piece of leverage for the league. And it's possible they've realized this.

And when that day comes, I'm sure DirecTV will jack the price up even more than they already do each year. "FOUR MORE GAMES!!"

IMO, there's no friggin reason why they can't show the games live on the Ticket. And there's no reason why they can't keep showing them on tape delay on NFLN. They already do it via NFL Replay during the season (albeit on steroids).

Well if you have DTV, then you should have the NFLN so you do get the preseason games. Does it matter that much if preseason games are shown live?

I'm well aware of that but that's not what I was saying. This game isn't affiliated with the CBS that the NFl has a contract with. It's basically an independent station broadcasting the game for the South Florida region. That could be why it isn't allowed to be aired on your nfl package.

(I didn't read past this post so I appologize if I miss something).

Well I live in Dallas....and I can't stand the Cowboys. Not because of the team, but its their owner. But thats another subject.

I understand what you're saying. Its rough being a fan of a team in a different state/time zone/country/planet. So what do I do? I have friends! Friends that will get the game for me and then I can watch it to. Mind you, its not live. But its better than nothing.
Plus we always have a ton of other games showing as well.
Right now, we have about 30 games showing including the pre-season game vs the Bucs.
