"There wasn't a question in our mind after that about arm strength." You realize Polian said that because there were questions about his arm strength right? He is dispelling those concerns.
there have been hundreds of great players drafted below how they ended up, and hundreds of players drafted above where they ended up. To claim draft position is the word, is hilarious.
apparently you just have to be fast to be athletic Your black comment reminds me of the C Thomas Howell movie where he pretends to be black by wearing makeup and everyone wonders why he sucks so bad at basketball
diverse coordination...deft agility...speed does not come into the equation for me...let's say a guy has world class speed but yet throws a baseball like a three year old..athleticism= diverse coordinated agility.jmo
Yes, there were concerns. Until he saw him up close. Manning had tremendous arm strength. All of this re-writing of history is absurd.
What are you talking about? It was the offensive line. The play calling was horrible! The receiver can't catch. The running backs were horrible. It is a team game, everyone around him let him down.
It was really disappointing. The entire games was whacked. Not pleased at all with offense or defense. I am a huge fan of Doughty the player and the person, so his series were brutal to me. Like a parent I want everything to be perfect for him and every play amazing.
What was your take on Tannehill? While it was only 1 meaningless preseason game, I thought he looked terrific..money throws! Would love to see him play consistently that way. EASILY the biggest positive from last night!
Yeah, I hear ya'. Just f'ing around. Hey, it's his first NFL preseason. Many successful NFL QBs have had some tough starts. Who knows?
I did not see that at all. He made a great throw to Stills for the TD. The long pass was pretty, but Tannehill threw him out of bounds. Should have been an easy TD. The pass to cameron was a bullet to his ear, should have been an easy TD pass. There was one pass Parker caught off a deflected pass too. Most of what Tannehill accomplished was against the Dallas 2nd string. He did have a nice run, which was good to see. Was not excited about any of the game.
While you are certainly entitled to your opinion, your take on His performance seems to be WAY off from what a majority of fans and media watched. If that performance does not make you happy, nothing he will do will ever...I think your bias against him creeps into your mind and will never change. I hate to think what you expect from Doughty.
That you would find any flaw in the deep pass to Stills (which was PERFECTLY placed, caught in stride, a diagonal pattern while Tannehill was rolling right and being chased down), or the slant to Cameron, definitely speaks to your explicit bias. There's not really anything more to be said about it. Nothing you write about the Dolphins QB situation can be trusted while Doughty is on the roster. And possibly when he's off the roster.
So you dont think the pass led him out of bounds and it should have been an easy TD??? How do you explain his running out of bounds ???? Also did you actually watch the pass to Cameron or just read about it? Tannehll threw a bullet at his ears that Cameron had to reach and up to his head to try to catch. It should have been an easy TD. My views are open and honest and I actually watched game. I said the pass was pretty to him, just led him out of bounds, AND I said he made a beautiful throw to Stills for the TD. For some reason you seem to ignore that part of my posts. And did you just decide to ignore the fact that I admitted that Doughty played bad??
I totally get that, the fans want to see what they want to see. I am just telling you what I saw. I could certainly see why the fans would be excited, his numbers looked good. espically against the second team defense. Remember in pre season last year Tannehill was pretty impressive. I know you want him to be awesome, and I can respect that. It should translate to more Dolphin wins, and that would be a good thing.
I know it's meaningless, but PFF had Tannehill as the top QB of the week. I think you have to be honest with yourself .. Either your eyes or mind are deceiving you. Or your obvious bias vs RT. Might actually be all 3. Granted, we need him to be way more consistent , week to week, but you might be the lone wolf on your take of his play last week. I actually thought that nobody, even the most ardent anti Tannehill guy, had no choice but to give him a top grade... I was obviously wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
TIL Cameron has his ears on the palm of his hands. No wonder he drops so many balls.... https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video/CqQ3OIKWYAAvcft.mp4 (here the gif for those that want it)
1. Yes I watched the game. And I guarantee I have seen every snap 3x more than you have. 2. The pass to Jordan Cameron was perfectly placed and perfectly paced. This was a slant pattern in the tight red area to a big target. You expect the defender to be all over the target's back by the time the ball can get in there. You rifle the ball in there as quickly as it can get there because that's how quickly you expect the window to close on a slant pattern like this in the tight red area. 3. The pass to Stills should have been an easy TD. But it takes a person who believes almost everything Brandon Doughty does is perfect and almost everything his competition does is less perfect than Doughty would do it to look at that play and isolate Tannehill's throw as the problem. Kenny Stills screwed that up, not Tannehill. The ball was perfect. It hit the receiver perfectly in stride, maximizing the window provided by Stills and guaranteeing that the defender couldn't close in on the ball while Stills slows down to wait for it. The ball being placed where it was place also maximized the run after catch potential since Stills could stay in stride and the defender had no window to catch up and tackle him. It was perfect. Kenny Stills had probably 5 yards of sideline cushion and 5 or 6 foot strides to turn about 30 degrees upfield and avoid going out of bounds and he just flubbed it. But the throw was perfect. Any different and Stills wouldn't have had a chance to score on the play because the defender would have caught up and tackled him. It's pretty clear that any issue that comes up, if it is even remotely arguable, then you only ask yourself one question before choosing which side to argue...that question being, is this good for Brandon Doughty? You only admitted Doughty didn't play well in the game because to do any different would've shattered the already paper thin veneer of objectivity you try and hold up on all things having to do with the Miami Dolphins QB position.
I agree, but the throw led him that way. if you watch the replay if the ball is closer to the 10 it is a TD. It was a beautiful throw for sure
How is that even remotely possible? Did they not see Prescott play in the same game? No one in their right mind could say Tannehill was better. Go back and watch the plays and how many passes should have been intercepted. I mean you can talk about the dropped TD's but not about the possible INT's? Heck one drop they are giving Landry went right over the head of a DB.
I watched it twice. Both times I am mad at Stills for running out of bounds. The throw did not take him out of bounds.
looks at it at 9 seconds on that video, is the ball not by his ear? Ball was thrown too hard, it should have been easy TD.
You simply cannot comprehend. Just give up already. I both complimented some throws of Tannehills and pointed out other flaws. You are doing exactly what you accuse me of. I pointed out Brandon did not play well, because unlike you I am open and honest.
Well, that is a 2 way street, because I saw the same old QB17, some nice passes, a lot of less than ideal placement, and he didn't get going until the 2nd string players were coming in, nothing real bad, and not much to write home about.
ok, you don't think so. I do. fact is IT was dropped. you blame the TE, I say it is on both of them. heaven forbid someone put any kind of blame on Tannehill for anything.
D25, you're embarrassing yourself. We all have hope for Doughty. THill had a pretty damned good night.
