Please give me 5 things you were impressed about and 5 you want them to practice on:

    Impressed about:
    1. Pass protection and speed of offense. Will give time hopefully to read through progressions and go deeper
    2. Kenny Stills and Tannehill connection. Contract year baby.
    3. I saw a better run defense with Misi and Jenkins more active
    4. I saw glimpses of why Foster is the best back on the team, pass catching and shiftiness
    5. Ryan Tannehill in control. Omar Kelly?

    Work on:
    1. They have to have an ID at TE. It's a head game now with Cameron. I appreciate them trying to get the ball to him, but drops leave us 2nd and long.
    2. What will they do on obvious passing downs to help these corners? I saw one play where they sold out and blitzed.
    3. Mario Williams. Period
    4. Parker's usage. He is a vertical guy. Continue pushing that with time to throw
    5. bringing in Chekwa and Howard, not slowly but aggressively. lippett is not the answer and it is obvious he won't make this team.

    Impressed with:

    1. Tannehill - Throwing in tight windows and looked very much in command. Bad audible on one run, but a couple were very good changes. As one poster said last night in the Game Thread, his comp% was 80 last preseason. Is this what the offense is going to continue to look like, or are we just putting lipstick on a pig?

    2. Stills - he looks so much different out there; circa Landry and Tannehill 2015. Contract year or not, I like it!

    3. Foster - It's really night and day between he and Ajayi. Now I know what the coaches see. Very fluid. Quick decisions that will likely be right. Hands down the starter. On a side note: Damien Williams wants a job, too! Will be so interesting to see who the coaches keep in the backfield.

    4. Tunsil - My excitement could not be contained when he was drafted, but I kept quiet because I wanted to see where his head was. Hopefully he doesn't get too comfortable and make some mistakes down the road. With that, I dare anyone to find a better lineman on the team. Heck, I dare anyone to find a better rookie lineman in the league! I came away very impressed last night. He's playing G for Christ's sake!

    5. The defensive starters - Well, they can play a little football, and finally looked like a defense. Played with a little more intensity last night. I hope the Suh injury isn't serious. I still stand by my 'feast or famine' assessment of the secondary. I'd hate to be the coaches on cut day because some really solid players are going to get cut along this defensive line.

    Not impressed with:

    1. The offensive line's run-blocking - I get that Pouncey wasn't in there, but it's night and day with these guys when asked to run-block. I get why Foster is there now, and I get why we need him. Steen wouldn't be able to join the US Navy because he can't anchor.

    2. Landry - we know what he can do, but he doesn't have to make the top-10 every reception. I think he's more worried about how good things will look on TV rather than just playing football (hence, the dropsies). He needs to get back to '15. I sure as hell hope he doesn't become a head case. He's showing signs of it. Like Lonely Island to Michael Bolton in the song 'Jack Sparrow': "I'm really gonna need you to focus up!"

    3. Mario Williams - I honestly cannot think of one play he's made all preseason.

    4. The backup QB situation - yeah, they're backups for a reason, but no one has really separated himself from the pack, including Matt Moore.

    5. Secondary depth - I know Lippett is getting a looksie because of Xavien Howard's absence, but he looks EXACTLY like a 2nd year player who played wideout in college. We'll see how this unit pans out as a whole, but if a starter goes down during the season, I'll be worried.

    Other notes:

    - This is the second game where Tannehill has had passes deflected at the line. We should pay very close attention to this as the season progresses

    - The LB unit came to play last night. Koa Misi "The Hammer"?

    - I really would like to see Kenyan Drake play this year

    - The backup interior line spots worry me

I agree with all the stuff you wrote as being impressive. As far as the OLine is concerned, opening runniing lanes is something they're not used to doing as 4 of the 5 are tackles. We need a couple pro guards in there to move people back, not just try to re-direct them as they come forward. I think Moore should no longer be the back up. I hope we cut ties with him finally. I do think Landry is trying to be as popular as his BFF Odell; he's trying too hard.

I get that impression with him as well. I keep coming back to this one video last season, on Dolphins.com (I think it was Landry mic'd up on one of the games) where they had a shot of him facing the camera trying to pump up his teammates and no one seemed to really respond. Their body language actually seemed to suggest they were kind of annoyed by Landry's attitude... it came across forced, as if we was only doing it to show off to the camera.

I really hope we're wrong about this and that he truly focuses more on his game than on his image, we'll see.
