hope people realize that a couple of drops in preseason doesn't mean much for his impact in the regular season.

it's amazing the criticism of players in this town. a few months ago, Tannehill, the most divicsive player in Dolphins history, was identified as a mediocre qb that had to play better. After an average camp and 1 preseason game, the jury was out about how much trouble the offense would be, along with a bad defense. Now RT has played well and seems in control of the offense, has better footwork, changing plays and made some touch passes, point is, he played better. However, his Play is now requires to be that of Manning in his first year under Gase. Why? When did this paradigm happen? Because he played better, Miami Media and Fans treat it like crack, always wanting more. Or was it Because the defense is bad? Why? Because despite a bad defense we all knew of, and a suggestion that this was a 5-7 win team, now the expectation is we have to make the playoffs. so just how much responsibility does RT have to have? It seems the worse the defense, and the better he plays, it won't be good enough. He is expected to play elite or well enough to overcome a very bad defense. Sounds like you heard this before? Just listen to 560 am or read the beat writers in SFLA. The reality is if Tannehill has a top 5 year and the Phins still go 5-11, he be responsible for not playing better with a team that has a bad defense. Instead of realizing how porous this defense was last year and realistically blaming them last year for not getting off the field, and just accepting that fact that th defense will take longer to fix, is just not realistic in this town. it's always easier to blame the qb. I want him to approve too. He must.

so I ask this question, just what would have been the solution this offseason at qb? spending a 1st round pick? and how will that pick have played with this defense? Mario Williams has disappeared. Tony Lippett cannot play corner. We have three corners that haven't sniffed the field yet (Culliver, Howard and Chekwa). The draft picks, money and talent is on the offense, BUT IF THEY ARE NOT ON THE DAMN FIELD, HOW CAN YOU BLAME TANNEHILL?????

You're a good poster, don't make the same mistakes I have. Instead view the idiots with amusement instead of contempt. Also, join Club. You'll be much happier.

Its a special pay portion of this site.

In it you get all kinds of good info analysis. The level of discourse is higher than it is here and as such, you don't run into the things you're complaining about.

I joined it last year and encouraged a couple of other posters to follow suit. Now, you won't catch me slamming the the public forum (aka the "Mains") because there are quality posters on both sides and a lot of the guys in Club still post occasionally in the public forum but as anyone will tell you, the behavior, discussion and policies of the Club Forum are just different.

Generally, it's more informed discussion that's based on facts as opposed to the opinion-based stuff that makes up the majority of the Public forum. Everyone has opinions. What we want is real info. Club does a great job of providing that. I do a lot more reading there than posting, fyi, but people are welcoming and friendly.

To me, the Public forum is more for people who just need to get stuff off their chest. They don't always care about what others think, they just want to express what they think.

Club is more about sharing with a community that is passionate about all things Dolphins. I will very happily pay $25 or whatever it is to be a part of that. :)

Im not blaming people on this board. I'm actually blaming more of the media. I think posters are critical of RT, and rightfully so, but want this to happen with him. Moreover, they see improvement. But only in the media can he be viewed as a mediocre qb a few months ago and now if they don' get elite play from him, not only will the Phins suck, he will be gone. So let me get this straight, you see improvement and now your expectations change exponentially? I really hope this kids does well, a lot of media and sports beat writers will be eating their words

The media get paid to cause controversy. It is literally their job to act like that. The posters here have no excuse.

I'm all for being critical of Thill, btw. I just think the specific things that a lot of these posters have been critical of are either bull****, someone else's fault, not a real thing or not realistic.

    Bull****:
    - The deep ball. Its been shown time and again the deep ball issue is not an issue. It was Wallace more than anything. This has been proven. Also, W/L record being on the QB as if the team, and coaching staff are irrelevant.

    Someone Else's Fault:
    - Short passes. He has no time for longer routes to develop thanks to a crap oline.

    Not A Real Thing:
    - "It" factor is made up and the only way to make "clutch" true is to literally fabricate a brand new definition of clutch, that includes, get this....choking slightly less than the average QB chokes. Yes, only here, with our posters odes being the opposite of choke involve choking.

    Not Realistic:
    - Expecting Thill to produce with a set of specific handcuffs that no QB has ever thrived under. Again before certain posters try again to claim a QB like Foles has done it, which is of course not true, no QB has ever thrived with a crap oline while not being able to audible and having no running game.
